Contact details of the SSS personnel released online

News agency, AP is reporting that personal records, which includes names and home addresses of family members of employees of Nigeria's State Security Service have leaked on the internet.

Personal information of more than 50 past and current SSS employees, including that of the agency's DG - his mobile phone number, and bank account particulars, were posted in the comment section of a website.

AP wrote that the information was leaked along with a threatening message that claimed to come from Boko Haram. .

I've asked three different women to marry me in the last four years and they have all turned down my proposal. They'd date me but when it comes down to settling, they'd give me excuses. I do have a small penis, could that be the reason? I never thought it was a problem because I know marriage is not all about sex. Does size matter to all women or am I just meeting shallow ones?

Cynthia's murder: Management sacks hotel staff for negligence

The management of the hotel where Cynthia Osokogu was murdered on July 22nd have sacked all the staff on duty on the day of the murder.

The management of Cosmilla Hotel, located at Lake View Estate, Amuwo Odofin in Lagos, said they sacked the staff because they breached security protocol of the hotel. Not only did Cynthia's murderers check in with fake IDs, the front desk didn't get Cynthia's details, making it difficult to identify her body after her attackers took away all items that could have helped to identify her. She was in the morgue for over 2 weeks before anyone knew who she was.

Cynthia will be buried September 7.

Davido signs cousin rapper Sina Rambo to his music label, HKN

David Adeleke (Davido), Shina Adeleke (Sina Rambo) and Bayo Adeleke (B-Red) are all cousins. Davido's dad and Shina/Bayo's dad are brothers. Shina and Bayo's mum is American.

The cousins all lived in the US before relocating to Nigeria a while back to pursue music. Shina is older than Bayo who is currently a hype man for Davido.They are all students of Lead City University, Ibadan. (Shina - Psychology) (B-Red - Mass Communication)

Davido two days ago signed Sina Rambo to his music label, HKN, which is being run by his older brother Adewale Adeleke.

 I see they are keeping it all in the family. Great stuff!

RIP Ogbonna Amadi. Vanguard Entertainment Editor Dies

Heard about his death last night but refused to write it because I was hoping someone would tell me it was all a joke. Whenever I heard a story, he was one of the first people I'd call to get confirmation. He knew everything and everyone...speaking figuratively.

Ogbonna Amadi was the Group Entertainment editor of Vanguard Newspaper. He was the one who broke the D'banj/Don Jazzy break up story. He had been a veteran entertainment journalist for over two decades. He died yesterday evening, August 29th, at a hospital in Apapa after suffering serious Asthma Attack.

Such a huge loss to the media and entertainment industry. Rest in peace, Amadi. #still in shock!

Coventry University, UK soars 17 places in Guardian league table

Coventry University, UK is continuing its dramatic improvement in the national rankings with a leap of 17 places to 46th overall in the 2013 Guardian University league table.

According to the latest rankings, which were published recently in the Guardian UK newspaper, Coventry is now a leading post-1992 university in the UK and is in the country’s top 10 for positive student feedback.

Ibori vs Ribadu: Andy Uba, Achigbu lay claim to alleged $15m bribe

Senator Andy Uba and Chibuike Achigbu, two principal players in the $15 million dollars exchange between Nuhu Ribadu and Chief James Ibori have finally come out to claim ownership of the funds signaling a new twist to the phoney bribery tale being peddled by Mr. Ribadu, a former Chairman of the EFCC.

Chibuike and Uba have approached the same federal high court sitting in Abuja to claim ownership of the funds just like the Delta State Government, which maintained that the funds were taken from Delta treasury by convicted former governor Chief James Ibori.

In a recent interview with V Magazine, when asked what she thinks about people who believe she’s just famous for being famous, Kim K compared reality shows to rap music and said she'd like a star on HWF:

I’m not naïve to the fact that I’m not a singer or an actress or anything like that. I’ve never claimed to be anything that I’m not. I think reality is still a new form of entertainment that was kind of an unexpected thing.

It reminds me of rap music. When rap music first came out, people were like, We don’t understand this, what is this, it’s just a fad. But rap music is definitely here to stay, and I think reality shows have proven they are as well. But when something is newer, people don’t really understand it.

I think there was a quote where somebody said that reality stars will never get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. So, of course I’m so competitive that I think that it would be a huge achievement and a goal that anyone would want. I would love to break that mold.

P-Square's record label, Square Records, sacked May D last week after being signed to the label for over one year.

Mike Adenuga's in-law and popular socialite, Akin Temple, dies

Akin Temple is the younger brother of Billionaire chief Mike Adenuga's wife, Titi Adenuga.

Akin Adewale, said to be in his mid 40's died today at Reddington hospital from complications caused by diabetes and high blood pressure.

He's survived by his wife and two kids. May his soul rest in peace...Amen.

Armed robbers this evening visited new generation bank, FinBank Plc on Osolo Way, Ajao Estate. An Okada man and police officer were killed by the robbers who escaped.

Chief Albert Olayemi, Gorimapa in Village Headmaster, dies

Chief Albert Kosemani Olayemi, who was in his late seventies when he passed on last week, played Gorimapa in the popular 70's TV drama The Village Headmaster.

The TV and stage dramatist died on Friday August 24th at Eko hospital after battling an undisclosed ailment. May his soul rest in peace...Amen

Ebonyi police arrest 7 men for killing 7-year-old girl

 

Officers of the Ebonyi State Police Command, on Tuesday, announced the arrest of seven suspects in connection with the murder of a 7-year-old girl, Ukamaka Ogboji.

The victim was allegedly killed for ritual purposes on Sunday at Agubia in Ikwo Local Government Area of the state. The suspects had earlier kidnapped Ogboji for monetary gains, and then dismembered her body parts before dumping same in a cassava farm.

Guardian UK review of D'banj's Hammersmith Apollo, London concert

 

As he's the figurehead of Nigerian Afrobeats, it feels appropriate that D'banj's debut UK headline show takes place on the final day of the Notting Hill carnival. Alongside the usual dancehall and soca, a good proportion of the anthems that fuelled this year's sound systems and floats are the hits that have propelled the rise of Afrobeats in the UK: Atumpan's The Thing, Ice Prince's Oleku and, of course, D'Banj's own Oliver Twist, a song of such popular reach that it even made it on to EastEnders.

Why I Resigned as Minister of Power - Bart Nnaji Speaks

In a move aimed at salvaging the reform and privatisation programme of the power sector, President Goodluck Jonathan Tuesday in Abuja accepted the resignation of one of the key members of his cabinet, Professor Bart Nnaji as Minister of Power, with immediate effect.

The president was said to have decided to accept the resignation, following Nnaji’s admission that companies linked to him had submitted bids for one of the successor companies created from the unbundling of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN).

However, speaking to THISDAY Tuesday night on his decision to leave the cabinet, Nnaji said he opted to resign in order to save the privatisation and reform programme from those who might want to use ulterior motives to bring down the programme.

15 Year Old Nigerian Girl Secures Admission to Study in Havard

 

15 year old Saheela Ibrahim (pictured above) was accepted into 13 schools, which included Harvard, MIT, Princeton, Columbia, Stanford, University of Chicago, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Cornell and 4 other Universities. She picked Harvard. She will be heading to the university this fall to study neurobiology or neuroscience. 

The high school senior at Wardlaw-Hartridge private school wasn't sure any university would want to admit a 15 year old, so she filled out applications to 14 schools with her grade point average (between a 96 and 97 on a 100-point scale) and her 2,340 SAT score (a perfect 800 on the math section, a 790 in writing and a 750 in reading). 13 schools accepted her, including six of the eight Ivy League schools.
