Nichole used to run for the USA team, but only recently decided to start running for Nigeria. The 31 year old mother of one explained why she switched.
"It's great honour to compete for an African country where my roots come from, and there is no greater honour for me than to do that. The USA is saturated with athletes, they have so many different people, so they really don’t need anyone else. There is no great honour for me to represent a country like this in Africa, it really is an honour." she said in a recent interview...See more pics of her after the cut...
Explaining her family ties with Nigeria, Nichole said "It’s on my mother’s side. I don’t even know
them, I never met them, I have just seen pictures of them and stuff so
yeah, my great-grandfather was actually from Nigeria" she said
Nichole who is married with a daughter has a record finishing time of 12.54seconds.

It's better Nigeria is not represented than having a frustrated American wearing our color. She just want to appear at the games, nothing more. This is disgusting and the Sports Commission should answer some questions. Wearing a country's color is more than honoring some unreal great-grand father, it's about patriotism. Can she recite the National Anthem? Does she know the meaning of the words in them if at all she could? Does she believe in those words? Comon! It's disgusting. There are millions of untapped talents in Nigeria than hiring a 31 year old expired mercenary athlete who doesn't even know where Nigeria is located on the map.

Linda, the reason why she is running for Nigeria is because she could not make it with the American team. It's sooooo simple. Why did she make such a decision at an old age in her career? After the competition, she will deny having ties with Nigeria just like that basketballer did!

Short distance runners have the best sculpted bodies. She's no exception. Her connections to Nigeria are practically nonexistent. Guess she's not ready to retire and is doing what she has to do to stay relevant.
