ENTERTAINMENT NEWS!

Beyonce sure knows how to sell sex. She's the reason I want to add weight. This here is the front cover of Vibe Mag, due to hit the shelves in June.

David and Victoria Beckham spotting the same 'blonde' hair colour and style. Who looks better in blonde? I'm going for David!
Us Weekly Magazine recently named Jennifer Lopez Style Icon of the Year. I totally agree. She's a diva personified...whatever that means lol!
The only thing I didn't like about Beyonce and Shakira's 'Beautiful Liar' apart from the song, is the fact that I couldn't differentiate them in the video. I just couldn't tell who was who...how many of you had that same problem? Apparently, Beyonce herself did. She recently gave an interview where she said...
The confusion was because Beyonce looked too white in that video
Oh yes...I heard this lovely vixen below won Nigeria's Top model Competition.

INI EDO BANNED FOR ONE YEAR!
One of Nollywood's top actresses Ini Edo has been banned for one year by the national body of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) for what it termed gross misconduct, indiscipline and outright violation of professional duties.
The ban order was ratified by Mr Ejike Asiegbu, the national president of AGN alongside his executive members and it took effect from April 17, 2007. A press statement signed by Mr Acho Ugoenyi, the national secretary
of AGN said Ini Edo is
no longer eligible to participate in movie productions with effect from April 17.
The press release read..."This measure will serve as a deterrent to others. The petition of Mr Emeka Duru (a production manager) at the instance of his producer and director respectively in conjunction with the disciplinary committees report agreed on the ban…. I have been directed to communicate to you, the
one calendar year ban order slammed on you, with effect from April 17, 2007, for gross misconduct, indiscipline and outright violation of professional ethics,".
The release further reminded Edo that the Actors Guild of Nigeria, is committed to the sustenance of discipline, and the enforcement of professional ethics among its members. Meanwhile, to ensure the ban has taken effect, the AGN, also officially informed Movie Producers and Marketers Association, the Association of Movie Producers (AMP), Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN), Nigerian Society of Cinematographers, (NSC), Nigerian Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) and the Lagos State chapter of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN)
Those of you who live in the US, is it possible for a Hollywood actress to be banned for a period of time for whatever reason? Is it done over there? Is this right? Banning actors? This baffles me...

The Russian military prosecutor's office said 14 or 15 paratroopers and three crew members were killed when the helicopter went down. The craft, an Mi-8, was part of a three-helicopter team providing reinforcements to help commandos conducting a special operation in the restive region of Chechnya, near the town of Shatoi.
Authorities are investigating whether the craft was shot down or whether there had been a technical malfunction that caused a crash. The incident happened at 11:53pm.

Putin steps up missiles warning
Mr Putin has made a series of comments against missile defenceRussian President Vladimir Putin has warned that US plans to build a missile defence system in eastern Europe would raise the risk of "mutual destruction".
Poland and the Czech Republic are keen to allow the US to site missile bases and radars on their territory.
Mr Putin spoke a day after threatening to halt involvement with a treaty limiting conventional arms in Europe.
Iraq criticises US pull-out vote
The Iraqi government has criticised the US Senate's approval of a bill requiring US troops to leave Iraq.
Ali al-Dabbagh, the main government spokesman, said the decision was "negative" and sent the wrong signals to insurgents. The controversial measure makes $100bn (£50bn) in further funding for the war conditional on a withdrawal timetable.
Meanwhile Democrat candidates for the US presidency urged President George W Bush not to veto the war funds bill.
Taliban take over south Afghan district
Taliban militants have seized control of a district in eastern Afghanistan' after an hours-long clash that killed five people, including the local mayor and his police chief, a senior official said Friday.
The Taliban takeover is an embarrassment to the Afghan government and its foreign backers, and shows how vulnerable remote areas remain despite the presence of some 47,000 U.S. and troops. Militants launched the attack Thursday evening on the Giro district of Ghazni province, setting fire to several buildings and cutting communication lines
Crackdown in Iran over dress codes
Thousands of Iranian women have been cautioned over their poor Islamic dress this week and several hundred arrested in the capital Tehran in the most fierce crackdown on what's known as "bad hijab" for more than a decade. It is the talk of the town. The latest police crackdown on Islamic dress has angered many Iranians - male, female, young and old. But Iranian TV has reported that an opinion poll conducted in Tehran found 86% of people were in favour of the crackdown - a statistic that is surprising given the strength of feeling against this move. Police cars are stationed outside major shopping centres in Tehran. They are stopping pedestrians and even cars - warning female drivers not to show any hair - and impounding the vehicles and arresting the women if they argue back.

SET'S DILEMMA
Hi guys, I am a passionate person. I like people in general and the ones I love and call loved ones and care about, I really do care and am protective of them. I am almost always brought to tears every time I see poverty in Africa on TV. I watched America Idols, 'Idol gives back' last night and I am still surprised, hurt and broken everytime I see poverty in Africa.
I have seen this stuff first hand, I am African, but fortunate one. I am still blown away man. I am hurt by it, I am kinda helpless and it hurts. I gave back and have been working with an Orphanage for about 8 yrs now in Liberia. I have done other work with other the less fortunate cases, but it is not enough, for I don't have a lot to give.
We all can give back in our simpliest ways and make a big difference in our community and Africa, but we don't. We could start with one person, pay an unfortunate child's school fees, Help a sick people in need of Malaria (# 1 killer in all of Africa) treatment at your local clinics.
There is always someone almost at death due to no money for treatment. Do this a few times a year, buy Mosquito nets, you will be surprised how much this will do. And the thing is that they are cheap ass treatments too. I am going to do something about this in my own way I will try, in God I will. You too guys can, it will make you a better person inside and out.
Ok, I am mad and have vented, So the question is: What will you do if your best friend, your sister or brother was about to date someone you have reservations/concerns about? Would you tell them your concerns before they start dating or wait until things goes wrong before you say what your reservations/concerns are?
Thanks Guys.

ARMED ROBBERY ON EKO BRIDGE
At about 8pm tonight, I was heading home to Surulere from a fashion show rehearsal I had on the Island. Usually when I have to go to the Island (Victoria and Ikoyi), I don't go with my car, 'cos most times I leave late and I'm not very comfortable driving by myself at night, so I usually take a cab.
But today a colleague was going with me and the plan had been that we'll come back to Surulere together when we were through. But midway into the rehearsal, my dear friend disappeared. When I called him, he gave some flimsy excuse of why he had to leave early, but thankfully for me, there were two models who were headed my way. So at about 7:45, we got in my car to get back to Surulere.
Usually when I'm driving at night, I don't turn on the radio, the music kinda distracts me, but this night one of the models insisted on listening to music, so I had no choice but to turn on the radio. Just less than two minutes of tuning to Rhythm 93.7, an announcement came warning road users to avoid Eko Bridge, because there was an armed robbery operation going on in a traffic jam on the bridge. They also called on the police to go over there and help out.
By now I was just leaving kingsway Road Ikoyi heading towards the bridge. To say my heart almost stopped is an understatement. I was shaking like fish that couldn't breath. I had to stop the car to catch my breath. Eventually when I found strenght, I managed to reverse the car and head back towards Ikoyi. I stopped at the first eatery I found and parked.
I had no plans of crossing that bridge tonight, I couldn't drive across it even if I tried. The fact that a robbery had taken place there made it impossible for me to even consider going home this night. One of the girls suggested calling a friend who was in the army to come escort us, I looked at her and said even if King Leonidas and the 300 soldiers offered to escort us, nothing would make me cross that bridge tonight. My whole being had been affected by what I'd heard on the radio. Me and armed robbers don't understand each other in anyway.
I'd had an encounter with armed robbers in 2002 when Usher was here for a concert. I'd gone to see him with a friend and my younger sister. Four armed robbers attacked my car, took all three phones, messed my spirit up...that's a story for another day.
Anyway, I decided to go stay over at a friend's place on the Island. The two girls braved it and took a cab home at around 10:00 tonight. It's about eleven, I'm still waiting to hear they got home safely.
How armed robbers will have the guts to rob vehicles in a traffic jam is beyond me. Do you know how many cars they'll have to rob? Traffic in Lagos is crazy. How many robbers could there have been? And where were the police? I later heard Rhythm had been making the announcement since 7:50, I heard it at about 8:07pm.
I don't know what happened on that bridge tonight. Hopefully no one was hurt.
But its sad that we are not safe on our Lagos roads. Really sad!

Let's keep our fingers crossed with patient's effort which will be released soon.
Dare Art Alade relocates to Abuja
I am hearing gists that newly married Dare has relocated to Abuja full time to start family life with his new bride Deola Ayeni who has a multi-million naira furniture business and contract deal over there. They said he might be stepping out of the music scene for a while to pursue contracts as initiated by his wife who has already started introducing him to those that matter in Abuja. All I'll say here is that I hope Dare married for love. Any other reason besides love is not good enough for marriage.
Sylvia Edem pregnant
Beautiful ex-Miss Nigeria, Sylvia Edem Emechete is expecting her first baby with hubby of one year, Chris Emechete, in July. I read that they recently celebrated their first wedding anniversary some days ago. ENTERTAINMENT GISTS!

Ash and Bachchan exchanging vows on their wedding day last Friday April 2oth. So glad Ash finally found 'The one'. I'd been rooting for her and Salma Khan. They were such a lovely couple. Oh well...moving on...
The queen of pop today April 24th celebrated her 25 years in Music. It was exactly on April 24, 1982, that Sire Records CEO Seymour Stein released a single called "EVERYBODY" by an unknown Madonna. Since then she's gone on to sell close to 200 million records and remaining a star of enormous magnitude and influence for the last 25 years. Happy Anniversary to Madonna.
Eddie's baby's been born and named. Mel B named her Angel Iris Murphy Brown. Is Eddie still insisting on a DNA test?
Alec Baldwin has been having it tough ever since he dropped that 'message' on his daughter's voicemail. Cartoons are now being drawn, the voice message is being used as ring tone. This guy will 'hear am' for a long to come
Who thinks the third part of Spider Man will be a box office hit like the first two?
Hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons has called for the ban of "b***h", "ho" and"n****r" from all rap songs. He says the derogatory terms should be considered "extreme curse words" and excluded from all 'clean' versions.
He has now called for a lyrical standardization throughout the broadcasting industry to clearly define which words should be cut.
I'm in total support of this. Some of the words rappers use nowadays, especially when referring to the ladies, is degrading. I hope Russell is able to ban those words. Who joins me in supporting Russell?

HOW TO...ADD YEARS TO YOUR LIFE.

Find a life partner
A 2004 study at Rockefeller University in New York suggested that the stress of divorce could accelerate the ageing of white blood cells. On the other hand, life-long happiness really does what it says on the tin. Experts believe that long-term loving relationships can keep you as much as 7.5 years younger.
Go to the beach more often.
There's something about nature and life extention. Studies have shown that just 30 minutes of bright light per day for five days is enough to banish depression in people's lives.
Get a dog
Scientists have always sworn that dogs lower your risk of heart attacks and strokes. Studies have shown that dog-owners tend to have lower blood pressure and cholesterol than people without. Dogs are more effective than other pets because they force owners to take a daily walk.
Move to another country
If you think the standard of living of the country you live in stinks, move to a better country. And if you really want to prolong your life, try living in Andorra - it tops the world's lifespan table with an average age of 83.
Sports/Exercise
The added benefits of regular exercise, keeping muscles and joints supple and strengthening heart and lung function will also keep you ticking along nicely.
Laugh more often
Humour can help us lead happier and longer lives, according to a 2006 study at the Norwegian University of Science. They've proved that people with a sense of humour are 30% more likely to survive when killer diseases strike. Laughter produces more protective hormones, regulates blood pressure, decreases the effects of stress and boosts the immune system.
Go to church more often.
Visit your doctor more often
Prevention is better than cure - don't ignore warning signs until they turn into flashing blue and white emergency lights. Nip treatable illnesses like diabetes, depression, kideny problems etc by visiting your doctor.
To me, finding a life partner is the best way to live long. The right life-partner I mean. A wrong life-partner is the quickest way to an early grave.lol

The management of the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) has criticised the poor distribution of Nollywood movies. The board has now launched new guidelines on film censorship and distribution to regulate the film industry.
The award-winning Kounandi is that rarest of films – a film about African women by an African woman. It is the first major film by young Burkinabe director Apolline Traoré and was produced by celebrated director Idrissa Ouedraogo. The film, set in simpler, pre-colonial village society, is told in the style of folktales. Kounandi is an adult fairy tale about love and the sacrifices it sometimes asks of us, but it also addresses social conflict and prejudices.Well, these are some of the other things happening in other parts of Africa that I think you all should know about. It took me two hours to get this info for y'all, so blow me kisses in appreciation. Kisses back!!! Ciao!

PAUL PLAY QUOTE.

On managing career with family
"It's not easy but I try as much as possible to give them quality time. We travel two times in a year for a holiday and I try as much as possible to play my role as a father and a husband. It's quite unfortunate that they have to share me with fans because this is where my business is."
On coping with female fans
"That is one aspect that you need to be very careful in this game. I've passed through alot of them. I still remember a day a lady insisted that I sign on her nipples with my lips. My female fans are all wonderful people. I told my wife that I'm married to them too."
What I want to know is whether he signed on the nipples of his female fan with his lips. He didn't say. I like this guy. What do you guys think of him and his music?

WORDS WOMEN USE!!!
This is to give women a good laugh and to warn men about future arguments they can avoid if they remember these terminologies.
Words women use and what they really mean.
THAT'S OKAY: This is one of the most dangerous statements that a woman can make to a man. "That's okay" means that she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when u will pay for your mistake.
FIVE MINUTES: If a woman is getting dressed (this is half an hour), 5minutes is only 5 minutes if the man has just been given 5 more minutes to watch the game. Once she's ready your 5 minutes is up.
NOTHING: This is the calm before the storm. This means 'something', and u should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with 'Nothing' usually end in 'Fine'.
FINE: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and need men to shut up.
GO AHEAD:This is a dare not a permission. Don't do it!
LOUD SIGH: This is actually not a word, but it's a non-verbal statement often understood by men. A 'loud sigh' means she thinks u are an idiot and wonders why she's wasting her time and arguing with you over nothing.
THANKS: A woman is thanking you. Do not question it. Just say you are welcome!
WHATEVER: That's a woman's way of saying F**K YOU!!
I'm sure some of you men have learnt a thing or two from this.
I got this from my sis blog. You guys need to go check out more stuff at veraikeji.blogspot.com. Ciao!!!

2007 ELECTION RESULTS!
Well we all know who's going to rule Nigeria come May 2007. The new President-elect of Nigeria is Umar Musa Yar'adua from Katsina State.
INEC Chairman, Professor Maurice Iwu released the result of Saturday's election some hours ago.
Here it is...
PDP - Alhaji Umar Musa Yar'adua - 24, 638, 063 votes
ANPP - Mohammadu Buhari - 6, 605, 299 votes
AC - Alhaji Atiku Abubakar - 2, 637, 848 votes
PPA - Orji Uzor Kalu - 608, 803 votes
APGA - Odumegwu Ojukwu - 155, 947 votes
DPP - Bafarawa - 89, 241 votes
FRESH - Rev. Chris Okotie - 74, 049 votes
ADC - Pat Utomi - 50, 849 votes
Others are AD - 89, 241, ALP - 22, 677 votes, NUP - 4, 355, ND - 5, 408.
25 political parties contested for this election.
So there you have it, the next man to rule this country is Umar Yar'adua and I am mighty glad he won. I was initially against an 'Hausa' ruler, but having gone through this man's profile, I think he more than qualifies to rule us. He is honest. One of the only THREE Governor's the EFCC did not indict for embezzlement. The state he governs at the moment is the only State in the country with excess reserve. He is what we need at this point in our nation.
Hopefully he'll do better than his predecessor who I think has done great for this nation.
If you are not happy about the elections conducted 14th and 21st 2007 and also not happy about Yar'adua winning the presidential elections, do share your views with us.

NEWS ON ELECTION DAY!
Bayelsa on fire
Less than 24 hours to the presidential and National Assembly elections, Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital was turned into a war zone on Friday as scores of militants invaded the state and engaged soldiers in a gun battle lasting several hours. Bombs and other explosives were freely used.
The militants stormed Yenagoa from the water side in many speed boats and immediately started shooting as they invaded the Police headquarters. The superior weapons used by militants over whelmed the police, as all men and officers of the command took to their heels.
After taking over the police headquarters, the militants advanced towards the Bayelsa state Government House and the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. As the militants advance towards the government house and the INEC office, the army engaged them in a shootout, preventing them from advancing further.
The army and police moved to secure Governor Goodluck Jonathan who was in his office. Jonathan and his family were moved from his office to his lodge. But when the shooting persisted as the militants advanced thorough the secretariat annex complex towards the back gate of the lodge, Jonathan was moved again to an undisclosed location, while the government house gate was closed.
It was later found out that the bulk of the security operatives actually fled for their lives when the shooting became unbearable. Soldiers and other security operatives who managed to escape from the shooting were said to have immediately removed their uniforms and run into the streets to mix with residents.
On what might have prompted the attack, reports are saying that the militants were convinced that there was thumb-printing of ballot papers already going on at the government house, in readiness for today’s presidential election, in which Gov. Jonathan is running mate to Gov. Umaru Yar’Adua, presidential candidate of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Atiku in Yola for presidential poll
Vice President Atiku Abubakar arrived Yola, Adamawa State capital some minuted past 5 pm yesterday preparatory to the presidential elections today where he stands as contestant on the platform of the AC.The arrivalof Atiku had been awaited since Thursday when news filtered into town that he was expected as he is to cast his vote in his Ajiya Ward in the state capital.
New date for Imo Governoship elections
The rescheduled Imo Governorship election is no more 28th of April, INEC just announced a new date, Tuesday 24th 2007. The election in the state which held 14th April was cancelled by INEC due to irregularities.
Senatorial elections in Lagos
INEC just announced that the Senatorial elections in Lagos can only be conducted in ONE Senatorial district. The Lagos East Senatarial District. This they say is because of some omissions in ballot papers. This is wrong! Right? This announcement came just 5 minutes to 10. 5 minutes before the election starts.
National Assembly election postponed
Delta and Abia State National Assembly (Senate and House of Rep) elections has been postponed by INEC in those states owing to discrepancies in the ballot papers.

FUEL TANKER AT INEC OFFICE!
Over fifty people died in last week's Governorship election. The Presidential election hasn't even started and people are already planning on extinguishing lives.
Just this morning, at about 4am, 21st April, 2007, an oil tanker was seen heading towards the Independent National Electoral Committee(INEC) headquarters in Abuja. There was nothing suspicious about the tanker until it hit an electric pole and a little fire was seen coming out from beneath it.
A few people went to see if the occupants of the tanker could be rescued but there was no one in the vehicle.
The police was quickly alerted, and they (the police and the few people on scene) managed to put out the fire.
They discovered that a huge stone had been placed on the accelerator of the tanker which made it move on its own without a driver...4 gas cylinders were also found in the tanker.
The tanker had no registration number either so it cant be traced.
The good thing is that the aim of these selfish evil doers was not accomplished. I am sure the perpetrators of this crime had the intention of destroying the ballot papers, which were late in arriving from South Africa to Nigeria yesterday, so that the election could be postponed.
Imagine the number of families who could have lost their lives out of some people's thoughtlessness.
What is going on people? Will this election also shed blood? How many of our loved ones will die just because some people are desperate for power? Innocent people are the ones who get killed when there's a blood battle. God knows how many of them died last week.
Anyway, I'll keep you updated with happenings in Nigeria on this day that will mark a change in the future of Nigeria and Nigerians.
Stay tuned...

MYSTERIOUS YACHT
Australian rescuers were today Friday April 20th shocked to find a yacht floating off the coast with its engine running, food on its table ready to eat, laptop turned on, radio and global satelite working, but no crew was found.
The 12-metre (36 feet) catamaran was found 80 nautical miles off Townsville on the northeast coast, but there was no sign of the three crewmen who had set sail from Queensland state bound for Australia's west coast on Sunday.
Three life jackets and survival equipment, including an emergency beacon, were found on board, but no life rafts.
The KAZ 11 was spotted adrift on the outer Great Barrier Reef on Wednesday. Rescue crews boarded the vessel on Friday but there was no sign of the three crew men, aged 56, 63 and 69.
Rescuers have retrieved the boat's GPS system to analyse data for clues to the mysterious disappearance of the crew.
This is such a mystery! I hope this men are found.

ENTERTAINMENT NEWS!

A yet to be divorced Kimora Lee over the last few weeks has been showing off her new beau, hunky African-born actor, Djimon Hounsou. She was recently spotted flirting with him in the presence of her husband Russell Simmons at Forest Whitaker’s Oscar celebration party Tuesday night. Kim likes her some black men and Djimon is hot!!
Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin Yesterday left a very crazy, nasty voicemail message for his 11 year old daughter, Ireland. He dropped the message after his daughter didnt pick his call at their scheduled time to talk. In the message he described his ex-wife, Kim Basinger as 'thoughtless pain who makes him feel like shit, threatening to straighten her out after calling her a thoughtless little pig'. Kim apparently heard it all and leaked the voicemail message. Now a judge has temporarily banned Alec from seeing his daughter. Alec must be a temparamental person and it was so wrong of him to call Kim all those names to his daughter's hearing. It's only in Western world that I hear a judge will ban one from seeing one's daughter. How e for happen for Naija?
The home of G-Unit rapper Tony Yayo was recently shot up. Tony's mother, sister and daughter were home at the time of the incident but everyone escaped unharmed. Now it's being rumored that the attack was in retaliation for Tony slapping the 14 year-old son of Jimmy Henchmen, the CEO of CZAR Entertainment and The Game's manager. Imagine if the mum, sister or daughter had died in this thoughtless and unneccessary shooting. These gangsters don't think well.

Remember this pix I posted some days ago? Well that girl bumping and grinding with Akon is just 14 years old and the daughter of a preacher.
Now, the father of the 14-year-old girl has some words. Pastor Dave Alleyne says Akon took advantage of his daughter: "She likes dancing and won a competition," Alleyne said, adding that she became a victim in a situation where she had no control. That girl sure looks hot for a 14-year-old. I'm sure Akon was not aware at the time.
American Idol winner Fantasia, taking phone-pictures of herself.
A woman is claiming that her 13 year old son was fathered by comedian Chris Rock. Chris has asked a court to determine if he's the father of the boy. If he's proven to be the father, Rock wants to "contribute to the support, maintenance, and education" of the boy.
What would you do if you found out your husband has a love-child he never told you about?

RAI AND BACHCHAN WED!
Bollywood actor and son of Bollywood legend, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan has finally wed his sweetheart, former Miss World Aishwarya Rai. The couple got married just today April 20th in a traditional Hindu wedding in which the groom rode a white horse before the pair took their vows around a sacred fire.
The ceremonies concluded three days of celebrations at the actors' homes in India's entertainment capital of Mumbai, creating, what industry pundits said is, Bollywood's ultimate power couple.
But something dramatic happened to almost mar the smooth running of the wedding ceremony after an Indian woman claiming to be Bachchan's lover slashed her wrist in front of his home.
She told reporters she wanted to kill herself because Bachchan had gone back on his promise of marrying her after having "physical relations" with her.

NAIJA GOSSIP!!!
For Jade...
Singer, Ashionye just acquired a Honda CRV Jeep. Good for her.
I'm hearing that women of easy virtue have started establishing their presence at the Ahmadu Bello way, Victoria Island site of Silverbird Galleria. These ladies are said to move in groups of threes and fours and usually operate during the evening, most times trying to pass off as high class ladies in their bid to ensnare unsuspecting men with amorous interest. It's so hard to tell these 'ladies' from the decent ones going about their business, so they can't be easily detected and thrown out. I trust Ben Bruce, as soon as he figures out who this women are, he'll find a way of making life difficult for them.
Tosin Dekalu set to wed
Also, softsell Magazines in Naija are reporting that Lady Cobbler owner, Tosin Dekalu is set to wed her heartthrob, Emeka Odogwu, from the Odogwu family. I don't know how true this is...both parties haven't come out to say they are getting married, but softsell magazines in Naija have a way to finding out the truth. So Tosin might just really be getting married. I hope so...she's so beautiful and hard working and I hear the guy is equally good looking and loaded. Good for them.
Meanwhile, I also hear that Fred Amata's estranged wife, Agatha Amata is building a house in Lekki and the house is nearing completion. BTW, Fred lives in a flat in Surulere...the way things happen!
Colleagues deny drug actor Uche Oduputa
Aware of the negative implication of their name being rubbished again after the Wunmi drug shame, Actor's Guild of Nigeria AGN, has disowned their own, Uche Oduputa. The guild does not want to have anything to do with him. They've totally washed their hands off his case. That's sad, this guy is in real big trouble.
Fast rising comedian Abagan is now a father. His wife Angela gave birth to a baby girl on Wednesday April 4th. This one no be gossip o.
More gossip later. Ciao!

NAIJA POLITICAL NEWS.
FG declares Friday work-free day
The Federal Government has declared Friday as work free day to enable the citizens to travel and participate in the Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections. A statement signed by the secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief Ufot Ekaette said the declaration of work free day would not affect the operations of banks and other essential services in the country.
Buhari won't boycott the election
The All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) Presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari yesterday confirmed his disagreement with other opposition candidates for tomorrow's presidential polls, saying "boycott is not a democratic action because by boycotting the election, we forfeit our right to participate."In a statement he personally signed, Buhari said the "history of boycotts suggests that if we boycott Saturday's (tomorrow) elections it will make it easier for government to manipulate the process and we shall have no legal right to question any wrong-doing."
Atiku feels betrayed
In a swift reaction to Buhari's statement, the Action Congress (AC) Presidential candidate, Vice President Atiku Abubakar also expressed his readiness to participate in tomorrow's presidential polls, after describing the action of the ANPP Presidential candidate as a "stab on the back!" Atiku said he is "aware that opting out of the polls will preclude us from a possible legal recourse in case the riggers, out of desperation, go ahead with their plan." He, however, criticised Buhari for reneging on the earlier agreement of the 18 opposition political parties to seek a postponement of Saturday’s Presidential/National Assembly elections. The party said that "unfortunately, the ANPP and Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, who called the meeting where the agreement was reached, who presided over the meeting and also signed the agreement, have opted to jettison the resolutions so they could participate in the elections. We regret this stab on the back!"
INEC cancels photographs on ballot papers
The Independent National Electoral Commission has said that photographs of candidates will no longer be embossed on ballot papers for Saturday‘s presidential and National Assembly elections. They said it would be more cost effective to do away with the pictures of contestants on the ballot papers.
According to them, logos of political parties would be used in place of the photographs.

CHO SEUING-HUI
A package mailed to NBC News by Virginia Tech killer Cho Seung-Hui contained disturbing video, writings and photographs of the troubled student. Authorities say Cho killed 32 people and then himself at the Blacksburg, Virginia, campus on Monday, April 16. The network reported the package was mailed at 9:01 am, between two shooting incidents and the photos show Cho handling the two handguns he used in the massacre. NBC News has given the material to investigators.
Here are some of the photos.

Their daughter graduated from Princeton in 2004 and works as a contractor for the State Department. Buhari, Atiku, others call for postponement of elections
Four days to the Presidential election, the meeting convened by the Coalition of Opposition Parties (COC) in Abuja, last night called for its indefinite postponement and the immediate disbandment of the Prof. Maurice Iwu-led Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), for the irregularities and fraud that characterised last Saturday's exercise. The "Granite Coalition", led by the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) Presidential candidate, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), also called for the outright cancellation of the elections conducted last Saturday for the governorship and Houses of Assembly in the 36 States of the federation. The COC also demanded the publication and authentication of the voters register as required by the Electoral Act 2006. They equally demanded verification and manual counting of ballot papers used in the last election to ascertain the thumb prints with the aide of the Direct Data Capture Machine (DDC) of INEC. While calling for the reconstitution of INEC, the coalition said unless its demands were met, it would boycott future elections. The coalition would reconvene tomorrow April 19th.
Mayhem in Kano
Tragedy yesterday struck in Kano State when some gunmen, suspected to be Talibans, hacked the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) and 12 other policemen attached to Panshekara Police Division, Kumbotso Local Government, and set fire on the police station. The Talibans were dressed in long gowns and red turbans, and some of them had long bears and were speaking a foreign language suspected to be Arabic. They entered the area at about 7.30 am and made straight to the nearby police station, and opened fire on the officers on duty leaving some dead and many others injured. After attacking the police station, the gunmen addressed residents of the area who had taken cover saying “We are not here to harm any of you. We are here because of state of insecurity in the state which had led to the brutal murder of Sheik Jafar Mohammed Adam.” they reportedly said. The suspected gunmen were said to have appealed to the residents of the area to stay clear of the fight between them and the police so that they don’t get hurt while assuring them that they would not be hurt.
Abike Dabiri alleges abduction plot
Barely four days to the House of Representatives election, the Action Congress candidate for Ikorodu Federal constituency, Hon. Abike Dabiri on Tuesday raised alarm over threat to her life.Dabiri in a petition to the State Commissioner of Police, Mr Bashir Azzez alleged that people suspected to be agents of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have perfected plans to abduct her to an unknown location. According to her, information revealed that the group that was employed for the job have been given her photographs, car number plate, her house description, also all her aides phone numbers and their movements. Dabiri further explained that the reason given by those people was to ensure she did not participate in the election to the Federal House of Representatives on Saturday, stressing that all her aides have also been marked for abduction and subsequent assassination. The meeting where the issue of her abduction, according to her petition to the state commissioner of police, was hatched was held last Sunday at an hotel at Ojigo area of the state
Supreme Court says INEC has no power to disqualify candidates
In a landmark judgement, the Supreme Court yesterday ruled that the Inde-pendent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has no power to disqualify any candidate submitted to it by a political party, thereby setting aside an earlier judgment of the Court of Appeal on the matter. According to the Supreme Court, “INEC has no Consti-tutional power to disqualify a candidate from contesting elections without a valid order of a court.” The ruling thus set the stage for INEC to include the Vice President's name in the ballot for this Saturday's presidential election. It also throws up more puzzles regarding the fate of some candidates who were disqualified by INEC in the governorship election held last Saturday. Prominent among such victims are the ANPP governorship candidate in Anambra state, Prince Nicholas Ukac-hukwu, his Action Congress (AC) counterpart for the same state, ex-Governor Chris Ngige and the AC candidate for Delta state, Mr. Peter Okocha and many others. The Commission is said be in a dilemma over whether or not to print fresh ballot papers since the ones already printed for Saturday's polls will not bear the name and photograph of Atiku who is the flagbearer of the Action Congress (AC). In the wake of the epochal judgement, Vice President Atiku Abubakar, winner of the case, condemned INEC and the Police, saying he had lost faith in them because the two institutions have compromised their constitutional duties and were partisan in the electoral process
Pat Utomi still in the race
Presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Prof. Pat Utomi hereby refutes claims by certain news media that himself and other candidates have withdrawn and are calling for a pull-out from the presidential election.
Prof. Utomi declares that he is still in the race, his campaign continues, and he remains convinced that he is the best material for the presidency as well as remaining the peoples' choice.
He states that on the contrary, the group resolve is getting stronger, the status quo remains, and the group is developing its resolution-document which calls on the Nigerian people and the international community to reject the elections so far and see it as a big fraud pre-decided and manipulated accordingly by the PDP.

NAIJA GOSSIP***
I was going to title this article 'Naija entertainment gists' but then I realised that every information I want to give out here are all gossip. Gossip!!! That's a word alot of us don't like to be associated with, me neither, but what's life without a little gossip? As long as no character is being defamed, no hurtful lies are being told etc then I'm fine with it. I've been gossipped about, so it's my turn to gossip about others. Please don't mind me, I'm just looking for a way to justify this...whatever...from now on, I'll be giving y'all Naija gossip from time to time...hope some of you...will...like...it.
Here we go...
I just heard that yoruba actress, Wunmi, who was caught some months back for drug trafficking, is being packaged by an image marketing firm for the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency as an ambassador.
I hear if everything goes as planned she will be appearing on billboards, TV and radio commercials and touring Nigeria to spread the gospel that drug trafficking is bad. God bless her soul for agreeing to do that. Alot of people need to know the dangers of carrying drugs. She got off the hook easily, but it's not always that easy. Alot of people have been known to spend most part of their lives in jail for carrying drugs. I hope she does a good job of her new job lol.
How many of you know that Jazzman is married? I'm sure most of you know that. But how many of you know that he's married to top actress, Bukky Ajayi's grand daughter? Now you know.
This one na big gossip o. I don't like to gossip...ok maybe just a little...I try to avoid gossip on my blog but this one is too tempting. I've got to share it with you guys. News reaching me say that Tuface Idibia has dumped his baby mama, Pero. No..I didn't say that right. Tuface and Pero have ended their relationship. Ok...better. I got this gist from a reliable source and all softsell mags are also carrying the story. Pls don't say I told you o...let's continue with the gist...gossip. Tuface and Pero have a daughter together. Tuface also has a son with...I don't know the baby mama, but I've seen pictures of the boy (It's on my little sis phone) and he's cutest boy ever. I hear Tuface and his mum don't joke with the boy...I also hear he has a 3rd child....just kidding. He's got only 2 of them, at least to the best of my knowledge. Anyone know of a 3rd child?

FACE OF THE KILLER!!!

Cho Seung-Hui, 23, has been identified as the gunman who massacred 32 people at Virginia Tech university. He was a student from South Korea and a troubled loner whose behaviour had sometimes alarmed those around him.
Cho, who immigrated to the United States 15 years ago and was raised in suburban Washington, D.C., killed himself after opening fire in classrooms where he apparently chained doors to prevent escape before cutting down 30 victims one by one.
He used two handguns, which police on Tuesday confirmed he had purchased legally at a Virginia gun shop, and stopped only to reload.
Neighbours, roommates, and teachers described Cho as quiet and withdrawn, but one former classmate said he was not surprised when he found out the shooter's identity.
In two plays that were said to be written by Cho in the university, one characters talks of paedophilia and how to attack each other with chainsaws, and another character talks about how disgruntled students discuss their desire to kill a teacher they compare to a "parasite."
The dead were found in at least four classrooms as well as a stairwell. Cho was found sprawled among them, having taken his own life.
The campus, where there are more than 25,000 full-time students, reeled with shock and grief as crowd of several thousand filled most of the field in the neighbouring football arena for the memorial service on a sunny spring day.
As students and teachers grieved at a tearful memorial service led by President George W. Bush, police said Cho Seung-Hui, 23, acted alone on Monday April 16th in carrying out the deadliest shooting rampage in modern U.S. history.
I wonder what turned this 23 year old man to a monster with no feelings. Buying a gun and aiming at his own schoolmates, not to injure, but to kill them, after locking the doors with chains to ensure that no student got out. What could they have done to him? What demon possessed him to carry out such a dastardly act? Is it his upbringing? Could it be his family orientation? Who are his parents? How did they let their child grow up with so much hatred inside him? Or could it be the society he grew up in? Who do you blame for something like this apart from the killer? What motivated him? And why the heck is it so easy to buy a gun in the US? There are so many questions going through my head right now. I can never understand a thing like this. What could turn a once-cute little happy boy with hope for a better future to resent that future and want to end ASAP. Not just his own future, but the future of 32 other youths. He should have died alone...God I wish he had died alone. The 32 others had done nothing wrong. They were just at the wrong place at the right time. In yoruba, they say 'akoba adaba, oloun ma jari'.
To think of the number of families that will be in mourning right now. It's heartbreaking. May God take care of the souls of those we lost, amen.

33 STUDENTS KILLED IN VIRGINIA TECH.

1. 0715, shooting reported at the dormitory building
2. About two hours later a further shooting is reported
Students of the school
A gunman, described as six feet tall, young looking, Asian, dressed sort of strangely, almost like a boy scout, very short-sleeved light, tan shirt and some sort of ammonition vest with black over it killed at least 30 people at one of two shootings on the campus of Virginia Tech Monday April 16th.
There were two incidents two hours apart. One was at a student dorm where two were killed and the second was at an engineering building where 30 more students and the gunman died.
Virginia Tech police chief Wendell Flinchum said that emergency services had received a call at 0715 (1215 GMT) alerting them to a shooting at the dormitory - West Ambler Johnston Hall.
He said that two hours later there was a second report of shooting, this time at the engineering building, Norris Hall.
Eyewitnesses said some students jumped from classroom windows to escape the gunfire, which triggered panic on campus.
Some of those locked down inside the university buildings were using the internet to try to glean information about what was happening.
Asked why the campus, which has more than 26,000 students, was not shut down after the first shooting, Flinchum responded that police determined "it was an isolated event to that building and the decision was made not to cancel classes at that time.
West Ambler Johnston Hall is a dormitory that houses 895 students and is located near the drill field and stadium.
Flinchum said at a Monday night news conference that they had a preliminary identification of the shooter at Norris Hall but were not releasing it.
A law enforcement source close to the investigation said a 22-caliber handgun and a 9 mm handgun were recovered at the scene.
Scott Hill, a spokesman for Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg, said 17 wounded students were taken there.
It was unclear if the dead gunman was a student of the University.
This is the deadliest mass US shooting ever. Prior to the Virginia attack was in Texas in 1991 when George Hennard killed 23 people and himself in a cafeteria.
Sometimes I wonder why God lets terrible things like this happen. Why God? 32 students who woke up with hope of a better day, with dreams and aspirations, with expectations and love for life...now they are all gone. This is so sad.
May their souls rest in perfect peace, Amen.
Soon we'll know who the killer was and why he did what he did. This deeply saddens me.

Operator: "Where did you get that number from, sir?".
Customer: "It was on the door to the Travel Centre".
Operator: "Sir, they are our opening hours".
Samsung Electronics
Caller: "Can you give me the telephone number for Jack?"
Operator: "I'm sorry, sir, I don't understand who you are talking about".
Caller: "On page 1, section 5, of the user guide it clearly states that I need to unplug the fax machine from the AC wall socket and telephone Jack before cleaning. Now, can you give me the number for Jack?"
Operator: "I think you mean the telephone point on the wall".
Directory Enquiries
Caller: "I'd like the number of the Argoed Fish Bar in Cardiff please".
Operator: "I'm sorry, there's no listing. Is the spelling correct?"
Caller: "Well, it used to be called the Bargoed Fish Bar but the 'B' fell off".
RAC Motoring Services
Caller: "Does your European Breakdown Policy cover me when I am travelling in Australia ?"
Operator: " Doesn't the product name give you a clue?"
Then there was the caller who asked for a knitwear company in Woven. Operator: "Woven? Are you sure?"
Caller: "Yes. That's what it says on the label; Woven in Scotland".
On another occasion, a man making heavy breathing sounds from a phone box told a worried operator: "I haven't got a pen, so I'm steaming up the window to write the number on".
Tech Support: "I need you to right-click on the Open Desktop".
Customer: "OK".
Tech Support: "Did you get a pop-up menu?".
Customer: "No".
Tech Support: "OK. Right-Click again. Do you see a pop-up menu?"
Customer: "No".
Tech Support: "OK, sir. Can you tell me what you have done up until this point?".
Customer: "Sure. You told me to write 'click' and I wrote 'click'".
Tech Support: "OK. In the bottom left hand side of the screen, can you see the 'OK' button displayed?"
Customer: "Wow. How can you see my screen from there?"
This has got to be one of the funniest things in a long time. I think this guy should have been promoted, not fired. This is a true story from the Word Perfect Helpline, which was transcribed from a recording monitoring the customer care department. Needless to say the Help Desk employee was fired; however, he/she is currently suing the Word Perfect organization for "Termination without Cause". Actual dialogue of a former WordPerfect Customer Support employee. (Now I know why they record these conversations!):
Operator: "Ridge Hall, computer assistance; may I help you?"
Caller: "Yes, well, I'm having trouble with WordPerfect."
Operator: "What sort of trouble??"
Caller: "Well, I was just typing along, and all of a sudden the words went away."
Operator: "Went away?"
Caller: "They disappeared."
Operator: "Hmm So what does your screen look like now?"
Caller: "Nothing."
Operator: "Nothing??"
Caller: "It's blank; it won't accept anything when I type."
Operator: "Are you still in WordPerfect, or did you get out??"
Caller: "How do I tell?"
Operator: "Can you see the C: prompt on the screen??"
Caller: "What's a sea-prompt?"
Operator: "Never mind, can you move your cursor around the screen?"
Caller: "There isn't any cursor: I told you, it won't accept anything I type."
Operator: "Does your monitor have a power indicator??"
Caller: "What's a monitor?"
Operator: "It's the thing with the screen on it that looks like a TV. Does it have a little light that tells you when it's on??"
Caller: "I don't know."
Operator: "Well, then look on the back of the monitor and find where the power cord goes into it. Can you see that??"
Caller: "Yes, I think so."
Operator: "Great. Follow the cord to the plug, and tell me if it's plugged into the wall.
Caller: "Yes, it is."
Operator: "When you were behind the monitor, did you notice that there were two cables plugged into the back of it, not just one??"
Caller: "No."
Operator: "Well, there are. I need you to look back there again and find the other cable."
Caller: "Okay, here it is."
Operator: "Follow it for me, and tell me if it's plugged securely into the back of your computer."
Caller: "I can't reach."
Operator: "Uh huh. Well, can you see if it is??"
Caller: "No."
Operator: "Even if you maybe put your knee on something and lean way over??"
Caller: "Oh, it's not because I don't have the right angle - it's because it's dark."
Operator: "Dark??"
Caller: "Yes - the office light is off, and the only light I have is coming in from the window. "
Operator: "Well, turn on the office light then."
Caller: "I can't."
Operator: "No? Why not??"
Caller: "Because there's a power failure."
Operator: "A power......... A power failure? Aha, Okay, we've got it licked now. Do you still have the boxes and manuals and packing stuff your computer came in??"
Caller: "Well, yes, I keep them in the closet."
Operator: "Good. Go get them, and unplug your system and pack it up just like it was when you got it. Then take it back to the store you bought it from."
Caller: "Really? Is it that bad?"
Operator: "Yes, I'm afraid it is."
Caller: "Well, all right then, I suppose. What do I tell them??"
Operator: "Tell them you're too f***ing stupid to own a computer!!!!!"
This is just to cheer you up as you go about your business. Hope you found some of it hilarious***

TEN GREATEST SPACE PHOTOGRAPHS.
The Cat's Eye Nebula
The Perfect Storm, a small region in the Swan Nebula, 5,500 light years away, described as 'a bubbly ocean of hydrogen and small amounts of oxygen, sulphur and other elements'.
Starry Night, so named because it reminded astronomers of the Van Gogh painting. It is a halo of light around a star in the Milky Way.
The glowering eyes from 114 million light years away are the swirling cores of two merging galaxies called NGC 2207 and IC 2163 in the distant Canis Major constellation.
The Trifid Nebula. A 'stellar nursery', 9,000 light years from here, it is where new stars are being born.
The Sombrero Galaxy - 28 million light years from Earth -was voted best picture taken by the Hubble telescope. The dimensions of the galaxy, officially called M104, are as spectacular as its appearance. It has 800 billion suns and is 50,000 light years across.
Nebula NGC 2392, called Eskimo because it looks like a face surrounded by a furry hood. The hood is, in fact, a ring of comet-shaped objects flying away from a dying star. Eskimo is 5,000 light years from Earth.
The Ant Nebula, a cloud of dust and gas whose technical name is Mz3, resembles an ant when observed using ground-based telescopes. The nebula lies within our galaxy between 3,000 and 6,000 light years from Earth.
The Hourglass Nebula, 8,000 light years away, has a pinched-in-the-middle look because the winds that shape it are weaker at the centre.
The Cone Nebula. The part pictured here is 2.5 light years in length(the equivalent of 23 million return trips to the Moon). This pictures can't be easily seen. How did I get it? I'm a genius lol.
Seeing things like this just makes me wonder about the Universe and how one MAN was able to create it in 7days. For some reason I don't particularly believe there's another planet where humans live aside from EARTH. Some scientists and space explorers believe so...but it's yet to be proven.
What about you guys...do you believe there's human life in another planet aside from earth? Do you believe in Aliens? Send me your thoughts.

ENTERTAINMENT GISTS!

28 year old Ashton Kutcher couldn't seem to take his eyes or hands off his 44 year old wife, Demi Moore. Being married to a young hot dude like Ashton must be tough for a woman Demi's age. She'll go the extra mile to look young and sexy for her husband. See the dress she's wearing? She needs to give other women tips on how to catch and keep a young husband. The two were recently in Spain to kick off the Louis Vuitton cup.

A married Wyclef Jean was spotted getting cozy with actress Nadia Bjorlin at the Redline premiere in LA last night. This is disrespectful to the wife I think.

Kelis showing off her...on stage. I'm sure Nas wouldn't mind

A married Akon performing in Trinidad over the weekend. Is this necessary?

See the uncanny resemblance between Madonna and her daughter Lourdes? The two are presently visiting adopted son's birth place of Malawi. They are staying in the village of Gumulira in Mchinji outside Lilongwe. Monday April 16th is the Material Mom's first day in the African country.

For the second time in their 17-year marriage, basketball legend Michael Jordan and his wife are calling it quits and Juanita may break the record for divorce cash. According to Forbes Magazine, Juanita is expected to collect $150 million from MJ which would break the record. $150 mil? That must really hurt Michael. But I'm sure he still has enough to...do...whatever.

This is what the lead singer of British rock group, Baby Shambles, Pete Doherty has turned into. If he doesn't clean up his act, he might not end well fo him! And to think he has a supermodel as a girlfriend. Oh yeah I forgot, Kate Moss is also a drug addict. So sad for this couple.

Nicole Richie licking some coke off the plate. Sad in a million ways and a million times!!!

Snoop's Claremont, California mansion is for sale, for the lowly price of $2 million. Anyone can afford it? Call him! lol

BUSY BUSY DAY!
I just got back from a very busy day. Had to handle two modeling shoots for a company using my models to represent their brand. For the first time in months I missed being in front of the camera. What we shot today was for a cosmetics company and the models had to wear really skimpy clothing, there were two make-up artists, a costumier, a director for the shoot, a camera man and I was there to direct the girls on how to pose, smile, positions to take etc. I envied the models so badly that I was almost tempted to ask the director to let me join the models. I haven't been in front of a camera in so long. Anyway, the shooting went well, but we couldn't finish. We'll continue tomorrow.
So I got back really tired but decided to check in with you guys. Let it not be said that Linda didn't post in one day...even if it's just a post lol.
There's just so much going on in Naija right now. More election results have been released, there was terrible fighting in the Aguda area of Lagos in Surulere, close to where I live, between angry supporters of AC and Supporters of PDP, where I learnt two lives were lost, cars destroyed, people injured...etc. It was crazy.
Also I heard at least 32 people were killed and more than two dozen wounded at Virginia Tech university today in the deadliest campus shooting in U.S. history. I don't have all the details of that incident so I won't say anything about it until I get all the info I need...I'm sure most of you have heard the story. It's so sad that such senseless killings are still happening in our society.
Then I heard Richard Gere caused 'wahala' for himself by kissing Indian actress and Celebrity Big Brother winner Shilpa Shetty several times during an Aids-awareness event yesterday. In a country where sex and public displays of affection are largely taboo, photographs of Gere embracing Shetty and kissing her on the cheek were printed on newspapers' front pages which caused members of the right-wing Hindu nationalist group to set fire to glamour shots of Shetty and beat burning effigies of Gere with sticks. I don't blame Richard...which man wouldn't want to kiss a beautiful woman like Shilpa. Even if he'll pay for it later...
I'm bone tired. I got to go sleep. I can barely keep my eyes open. I'm not even reading what I'm writing...
Ok guys...gotta go. Goodnight y'all
Oh...before I go, my site meter tells me I get 350-400 hits everyday. That's great...but I'm aiming higher than that. So if you know how to help publicise my blog, do it for me please. Tell your friends, family, colleagues etc to come check this space out. Thanks and Goodnight

ELECTION WINNERS!!!
Today is April 15th, just a day after the elections in Nigeria. I've been sitting in front of the TV since 5pm, getting details of yesterday's elections.
As of 7:30pm, the time of this posting, only 15 out of 36 states have announced winners of the elections.
Here are the winners as announced by INEC and not Newspapers or TV Stations.
Abia State - PPA - Theodore Orji - 265, 289 votes
Akwa-Ibom - PDP- Goodwill Akpabio - 29, 836
Bayelsa - PDP - Timipre Sylva - 776, 715
Borno - ANPP - Ali Modu Sheriff
Delta - PDP - Emmanuel Uduaghan
Ebonyi - PDP - Martin Elechi - 506, 444
Ekiti - PDP - Segun Oni
Gombe - PDP - Danjuma Goje
Katsina - PDP - Ibrahim Shema
Imo - Result cancelled
Lagos - AC - Babatunde Fashola - 828, 484
Ogun- PDP - Gbenga Daniel - 426, 132
Osun - PDP - Olagunsoye Oyinlola - 426, 669
Oyo - PDP - Alao Akala - 367, 972
Rivers - PDP - Celestine Omehia - 1, 853, 217
That's all the results there is so far.
Other election trivia...
Senate President, Ken Nnamani, was not able to vote due to the abrupt of the polling in Enugu State.
Inec offices were raised down during yesterday's elections
Eight ballot boxes were snatched by hoodlums in Ogun State.
The AC Governorship candidate of Adamawa was disqualified 24 hours before elections without notice to the candidate. he's headed to the courts.
Failed Lagos state Gubernatorial candidates of PDP, Labour Party, DPA,PPA are asking for the cancellation of Lagos results.
Imo State result was cancelled due to irregularities
New elections scheduled to hold April 28th, 2007.
Ok...that's it for now people. By tommorrow I'm sure we would get results of the remaining states.
I'm not happy about some people winning this election...but what can we do?
For some reason I don't think there was much rigging...or maybe there was, I really don't know. I just hope our new leaders improve the life of the average Nigerian.
Let me know what you think of Yesterday's election and the results.

ELECTION RESULTS!!!
No official announcement has been made yet but newspapers in Nigeria are reporting the following...
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and the Action Congress (AC) have taken early leads in yesterday’s states houses of assembly and governorship elections conducted across the country in their various traditional strongholds.
The PDP has raced into an early lead across the South-South zone
In Plateau, Kwara, Jig-awa, Delta, Kogi, Kaduna and Anambra States, governorship candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are leading at the exit polls
Air Commodore Jonah Jang (Plateau), Bukola Saraki (Kwara), Andy Uba (Anambra), Namadi Sambo (Kaduna), Sule Lamido (Jigawa) and Emmanuel Uduaghan (Delta) and Ibrahim Idris (Kogi) are favoured to win yesterday's election in their respective states
ANPP is leading in key North-West states of Kano, Kebbi, Yobe and Zamfara
In Sokoto State, the Democratic Peoples Party (DPP) are in early lead.
In the South-eastern states of Abia, Imo and Ebonyi, Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) is making a strong showing.
In Imo where confusion characterized the poll over the eligibiliy or otherwise of Senator Ifeanyi Ararume, Martin Agbaso of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and Ikedi Ohakim of the PPA appear to be running neck to neck.
PDP’s Dr. Andy Uba is leading in Anambra State.
The Action Congress, is leading the race in Adamawa State, the homestead of Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
AC is leading in Lagos State, Edo State and Ekiti State.
In Edo State, the PDP is running behind the AC, as former President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Comrade Adams Oshiomhole takes early lead.
The Oyo race is between Abiola Ajimobi of ANPP and PDP's candidate, Adebayo Alao-Akala who is the incumbent deputy governor.
In Adamawa, it is likely that PDP candidate, Mu-rtala Nyako may emerge winner following the disqualification of his biggest challenger, Ibrahim Bapatel of AC.
Also in Kano, the PDP candidate, Ahmed Bichi is in close contest with ANPP's Ibrahim Shekarau who is the incumbent governor
Gbenga Daniel of Ogun State is the only confirmed winner of the elections so far.
In many of the states, the results collated at the Local Government levels have not arrived INEC offices in the state capital as at this morning. The final results of the governorship elections will be collated and announced by the resident electoral commissioners in the state. By this afternoon of making this post, the winners of the governorship and state legislative houses elections were yet to be officially announced. I'll keep you all posted.
Meanwhile, even though yeaterday's election was generally considered peaceful, no fewer than 41 persons were feared dead and about 250 people were also arrested over alleged electoral malpractices.
Stay tuned for more news.

ELECTION DAY!
I had a crazy crazy day today, I'll tell y'all about it later. By now everyone knows that today was the Governorship elections in Nigeria. I heard alot of report of area boys and hooligans causing trouble around Lagos, seizing voting cards, disrupting polling stations etc. I actually haven't read any papers to find out what's really going on...but be sure I'll give you all the details as soon as I get them. As for my area, it was peaceful and everyone in my house voted. I just hope that the right person who will move this nation forward is elected Governor. And I hope also that there will be no rigging. Something tells me it won't happen this time around. I pray so!
Meanwhile I got another scam email. Here it is...

Is this what some of us have resolved to do with our lives? It's sad! Please people, be careful of such mails and such fraudsters. In as much as alot of awareness is being created to warn people, some are still falling for such pranks. I hope all these irresponsible, lazy individuals who have no fear of God are caught and put away for a long time. This is not the way to go at all. Someone will sit down and type such a long message just to trick people off their money. It's sad sha!
On a lighter mood...hmmm..I'm thinking of something to cheer y'all up with....can't think of anything. Just think of something good and beautiful that happened to you recently and smile.

NEWS FROM NIGERIA.
Iroha escapes death in Kaduna
Former Super Eagles defender and head coach of FC Abuja, Ben Iroha, was beaten to a pulp on Wednesday April 10th in Kaduna, by irate fans of Ranchers Bees. Iroha, who is also the assistant coach of the Golden Eaglets, was attacked by hooligans immediately after their Week 14 fixture with the Kaduna side, which ended 2–1 in favour of the hosts. He was discharged from the hospital after several stitches on the head and one on his eyes. The hooligans used iron rods and several other hard objects to beat him on the head and every part of his body and accused him of being responsible for the delayed goals that gave them victory. They said his presence on the bench of FC Abuja almost caused them victory in the match. This guy won a match and still got beaten up. Imagine if they had lost. We'll be hearing a different story by now.

Ebereonwu dies
Ebereonwu, award winning script writer, top movie maker, director and poet, died in an auto accident last Friday April 6th 2007. He was on his way home from O’Jez Night Club, Surulere Lagos, when he ran his bus under a truck around the Alaka area of Lagos. He was taken to the General Hospital by some of his colleagues, including Julius Agwu, Emeka Enyiocha and others after managing to extract his mangled body from underneath the truck. Ebereonwu died shortly afterwards at the age of 43, no kids, no wife. Sad! May his soul rest in peace
Navy kills Militants
An attempt to rob two new generation banks at GRA junction, Aba Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, in the early hours of yesterday failed, as the police was able to cordon-off the area, though the robbers escaped. This is as five people, including a policeman were feared dead in Emuoha, following clashes for undisclosed reasons, while the Navy killed two militants and wounded two in a clash at Cawthorn Channel. The robbers gained entry into Zenith and Guaranty Trust banks located beside each other, the police were alerted and dispatched their men to the scene. It was not, however, clear how the robbers who were surrounded by the police team that raced to the scene managed to escape, while none of the bank officials approached to confirm how much was carted away agreed to volunteer information. Also, a clash between the navy and militants resulted in two deaths on the part of the militants, while two were wounded and are being treated in Military hospital, Port Harcourt
Bellview Aircraft emergency landing.
Virgin Nigeria air mishap
Two passengers were seriously injured when Virgin Nigeria aircraft made a flight return yesterday April 12th at the Murtala Muhammed Airport Lagos after the pilot of the airplane which was on its way to Kano enroute Abuja noticed that the aircraft developed hydraulic problem. The incident happened at about 5.00 pm yesterday. As the pilot taxied back through the runway 18 Right of the international wing of the airport, the passengers saw an on-coming aircraft and panicked and stampede ensued which led to the sustaining of injuries by many of the passengers.

NAIJA POLITICAL NEWS!
I haven't done anything political in a while. Mostly because everything that has been going on in Nigeria in the last few weeks have all been negative. But then I realised nothing positive was going on in the politics of many countries. Besides that the 2007 general elections is taking place 14th and 21st respectively and I'll like to keep y'all updated with how things are happening.
Here goes...
Obasanjo relocates to Lagos
President Olusegun Obasanjo relocated to Lagos on Thursday April 12th ahead of the 14th April Governorship elections. Of all the 36 states in the federation, I wonder why he choose to be in Lagos to monitor the election. Newspapers are reporting it's because of his determination to win Lagos State, that has been eluding the PDP since 1999.
Why the work-free days were declared
Also, President Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday said the work-free-days were meant to enable Nigerians who may need to travel out of their bases in order to cast their votes to do so. The President added that during the election period, law abiding citizens are advised to avoid night travel and night movement except where absolutely necessary. There was a sudden declaration of public holidays on Thursday and Friday 12th and 13th in Naija. It was too sudden.
Trouble-makers will be dealth with
President Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday read the riot acts to those planning to perpetrate violence during the April 14 governorship and state assembly elections as well as the April 21 Presidential and National Assembly polls. He warned them to desist from such acts or have themselves to blame, stressing that the will of the Federal Government to contain such violent acts should not be tested.
Atiku accused of planning to scuttle the elections
The Atiku Campaign Organisation has denied an allegation by the Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Mr. Uba Sani, in which he accused Vice President Atiku Abubakar of planning to scuttle the elections. But the Presidency yesterday advised the Vice President to accept the fact that the game is over for him as far as the presidential race is concerned, adding that it does not in any way feel threatened by him. In a statement yesterday, the Atiku Campaign said ordinarily, it would have dismissed Uba Sani’s allegations as typical of an unsound mind, but for the gravity of the charges."First, we would like to restate that the Vice President is a strong believer in the rule of law and a committed democrat which is why he has so far resorted to the law courts to clear his name of all charges against him. He has pursued his presidential ambition in a peaceful and democratic manner," it stated
Soyinka, others accuse FG of instigating violence
A group of eminent Nigerians, including Nobel laureate and leader of the Democratic Front for a Peoples Federation (DFPF), Professor Wole Soyinka; All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) presidential candidate, Chief Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, Michael Orobator of the Ethnic Nationalities Movement (ENM), Professor Kimse Okoko, leader of the Ijaw National Congress (INC), Barrister Ledum Mitee of the Movement for the Survival of Ogoni People (MOSOP), Action Congress (AC) National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande and Chief Solomon Asemota, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), have fingered the Federal Government as the architect of the increasing spate of armed attacks across the country. President Olusegun Obasanjo was particularly berated for declaring the polls a do-or-die affair. The group who made the observation in a joint press statement, regretted that the presidency had "become the instrument of insecurity in Nigeria. The group regretted that over 400 billion dollars, which have accrued to the nation since the discovery of crude oil, has inflicted massive poverty, insecurity and misery on the people, adding that the latest importation of a large cache of ammunition by the police, purportedly, to curtail violence during the election has further heightened the tension in the land.
Tension in Ibadan
Palpable tension enveloped Ibadan, Oyo state capital yesterday, barely 48 hours to the governorship and state assembly elections, with some prominent politicians in the state going into hiding. Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Oyo State, Chief Stephen Manya said in Ibadan yesterday said that soldiers would be deployed to the streets of the state capital from today to stem the tide of violent political attacks. In the midst of the confusion, the state governor, Alhaji Rasheed Ladoja and some of his aides allegedly went into hiding while police also combed the farms of some politicians including that of the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Ayodele Adigun, in search of arms and ammunition.
US Government threaten Nigeria
The United States has threatened to review its relations with Nigeria and rally its allies to sanction the country should tomorrow’s elections and presidential election scheduled for next week produce an "illegitimate government". The US government, through Senator Russ Feingold, chairman of the Africa Sub-Committee in the United States Congress, lampooned President Olusegun Obasanjo and the Prof Maurice Iwu-led Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), accusing them of lack of commitment to free and fair elections as well as limiting competition.
Coalition of Presidential candidates
The coalition of the 23 presidential candidates on Thursday in Abuja announced the formation of an anti-rigging committee to checkmate perceived electoral fraud by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in conjunction with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The nine-man committee, headed by Professor Pat Utomi, is to strategise and adopt methods aimed at detecting fraud during the elections and coordinating response by members to resist any attempt to rig the elections and impose unpopular candidates on the nation. The meeting, which resolved to get all the candidates together to forge a common front before April 21, adjourned till next Tuesday, April 17, even as the candidates present alleged that the INEC had perfected plans to return PDP to power. They passed a vote of no confidence on the commission’s ability to organize credible elections.
Explosion in campaign office
The Olusegun Agagu 2007 Campaign office located on Oyemekun Road, Akure, Ondo State capital was yesterday rocked by explosion which occurred at about 3.00pm.The explosion, occurred on the ground floor close to the staircase of the building.
Court directs Inec to allow Ngigi contest
The former governor of Anambra State, Dr. Chris Ngige, yesterday won a major legal battle in his quest to contest Saturday's gubernatorial election when a Federal High Court in Abuja reaffirmed its judgment that the planitiff's name should be included in the list of those to contest for election. Inec made no statement in regards to this. I don't think Ngige will contest in tommorrow's election.
Thanks to the Sun and Thisday newspapers for all the information. I've been buying newspapers like a crazy woman in the last few weeks, to keep abreast with what's going on in my country. You'll be getting a lot of political news from now on. What do you guys think about the political happenings in Naija? Let us know!

10 DEADLIEST ANIMALS.
1. Asian cobraThere's a reason why snakes have garnered such a bad rap over the years. There are about two million people who suffer from snakebites every year throughout the world and more than 50,000 of those are fatal. The Asian Cobra is technically not the reptile with the strongest venom but, along with Russell's Viper, it is the one that kills the most people annually. There are Asian cobras in lots of countries but it's in Sri Lanka that they are the most active.
2. Funnel-web spider
Arachnophobia is a very common fear among the population. Fortunately, spider bites are rather rare and mostly harmless, but being attacked by a venomous spider can put an end to your life in a matter of hours. The funnel-web spider, whose body length ranges from 0.5 to 2 inches, is the most dangerous in the world. Hailing from Australia, they have massive fangs and can bite through a fingernail. The male might even enter buildings in search of a female and will become aggressive if cornered or disturbed.
3. Killer beesThe killer bees are the result of an experiment gone terribly wrong. Brazilian scientists wanted to breed a new species of honeybee in the 1950s, but some bees escaped and began mating with Brazilian honeybees. The result was the Africanized bee, an animal that hunts in swarms.Whenever they hear you coming with a lawnmower or trimmer, they will attack you. Even if you run away, they will chase you as far as 1,000 feet and they can continue attacking for up to 10 hours.
4. CrocodileThe North American, Nile, and estuarine are the largest crocodiles and therefore the most dangerous - especially saltwater crocs, which include humans on their list of prey - freshwater crocodiles stick to insects, fish, frogs, and other smaller creatures found near the water. The Australian estuarine crocodiles are cantankerous and sometimes lunge at anything that moves. Direct descendants of dinosaurs, they lie still in the water waiting for their prey. They then overpower, drown and dismember their victim, before they devour their feast.
5. Box jellyfishJellyfish are virtually road bumps in the ecosystem. They have no brain and only serve to eat zooplankton from the world's oceans. The box jellyfish, also known as a sea wasp, lives off the waters of Northern Australia and is the most poisonous sea creature in the world. This translucent being patrols the beaches, basically waiting for contact with its victim. The simple act of stepping on a tentacle can signify death in four minutes.
6. Great white sharkUnlike in the movie Jaws, sharks are not bent on revenge. If they attack humans it's because they think we're fish. Whenever they sense blood in the water, they get excited and it can trigger one of their famous feeding frenzies in which they will bite everything that moves. Sharks strike no matter the time of day or the condition of the water. Hunger, territorial defence, movement, and mistaken identity are the main reasons for these attacks, which occur mostly along the coasts of North America, South Africa, and the Caribbean.
7. LionThe lion is known as king of the jungle, and for good reason. Lions are at the very top of the food chain in Africa. They lounge around all day, hanging out with the family and strike when necessary. They have razor-sharp teeth and claws that can tear apart any animal, including humans. Lions are fast and lethal, and nothing you do can keep this African monster from attacking you.
8. Cape buffaloThis animal, also known as the African buffalo, is not just a big cow - it's a vicious beast that charges at humans seemingly for fun. Big game hunters cherish them for their malicious history. They see man as a predator so when faced with one, they charge at him - 1,500 pounds and all - and use their horns for stabbing. It is said that when wounded by a hunter, they pursue him until either the buffalo or the hunter is dead
9. ElephantElephants aren't predators and are known to help other animals and be socially active within their group. But while they're not in an epic war against humans, they can turn aggressive rapidly, especially as a result of their abuse and harassment by humans. When caged or feeling the constraints of domesticated life, they can fall into a blind rage and have been known to kill their handlers as well as stampede tourists who show up to admire them. Some zoos have ceased all contact between human beings and elephants for this reason.
10. Polar bearBears are pretty much the puppy dogs of the wild. They are so cute that most people want to pet them... and that would be their first mistake. Polar bears are the largest carnivores on land; they eat ringed seals for breakfast but would settle for a young walrus or beluga whale. Living in the Arctic Circle, they've certainly been known to kill humans who venture too close. It's starvation that makes them dangerous and a smack from one of their paws could rip your head clean off.
Of all these deadly animals, the one that scares me the most are the killer bees, that resulted due to an experimant that went wrong. I think I can stand staying in front of a Snake, Lion, Crocodile, but the bees? I'll die before they even come near me. They can pursue you from here to kingdom come. And they are said to attack for at least 10 hours. May we never cross paths...Amen!!!
What animal is the deadliest to you and which one scares you the most?

I don't know why people still keep sending e-mails like this. Haven't they realised that we know their tricks by now? I remember seeing a similar email on Bimbylad's blog and she replied him with curses.
In my reply to the needy, wealthy Mustapha, I told him to come to my blog and check out how I can be of assistance to him.
So people, please send in replies to Mustapha. He needs to know that people aren't fools and can't be easily duped!
My reply to you Mustapha is...Go get a job fool!!!
I hope he sees it!

AMAZING EARTH FACTS!
1. What is the hottest place on Earth?
El Azizia in Libya recorded a temperature of 136 degrees Fahrenheit (57.8 Celsius) on Sept. 13, 1922 -- the hottest ever measured. In Death Valley, it got up to 134 Fahrenheit on July 10, 1913.
2. And the coldest place on Earth?
Far and away, the coldest temperature ever measured on Earth was -129 Fahrenheit (-89 Celsius) at Vostok, Antarctica, on July 21, 1983
3. What makes thunder?
If you thought, "Lightning!" then hats off to you. But there's a more illuminating answer. The air around a lightning bolt is superheated to about five times the temperature of the Sun. This sudden heating causes the air to expand faster than the speed of sound, which compresses the air and forms a shock wave; we hear it as thunder.
4. How far does regular dust blow in the wind?
A 1999 study showed that African dust finds its way to Florida and can help push parts of the state over the prescribed air quality limit for particulate matter set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The dust is kicked up by high winds in North Africa and carried as high as 20,000 feet (6,100 meters), where it's caught up in the trade winds and carried across the sea. Dust from China makes its way to North America, too.
5. Where is the worlds highest waterfall?
The water of Angel Falls in Venezuela drops 3,212 feet (979 meters).
6. What would a 100-pound person weigh on Mars?
The gravity on Mars is 38 percent of that found on Earth at sea level. So a 100-pound person on Earth would weigh 38 pounds on Mars. Based on NASA's present plans, it'll be decades before this assumption can be observationally proved, however.
7. How long is a Martian year?
It's a year long, if you're from Mars. To an earthling, it's nearly twice as long. The red planet takes 687 Earth-days to go around the Sun -- compared to 365 days for Earth. Taking into account Mars' different rotational time. Calendars on Mars would be about 670 days long with some leap days needed to keep things square.
8. What is the largest volcano?
The Mauna Loa volcano in Hawaii holds the title here on Earth. It rises more than 50,000 feet (9.5 miles or 15.2 kilometers) above its base, which sits under the surface of the sea. But that's all volcanic chump change. Olympus Mons on Mars rises 16 miles (26 kilometers) into the Martian sky. Its base would almost cover the entire state of Arizona.
9. What was the deadliest known earthquake?
The world’s deadliest recorded earthquake occurred in 1557 in central China. It struck a region where most people lived in caves carved from soft rock. The dwellings collapsed, killing an estimated 830,000 people. In 1976 another deadly temblor struck Tangshan, China. More than 250,000 people were killed.
10. How far is it to the center of the Earth?
The distance from the surface of Earth to the center is about 3,963 miles (6,378 kilometers). Much of Earth is fluid. The mostly solid skin of the planet is only 41 miles (66 kilometers) thick -- thinner than the skin of an apple, relatively speaking.
11. What is the highest mountain?
Climbers who brave Mt. Everest in the Nepal-Tibet section of the Himalayas reach 29,035 feet (nearly 9 kilometers) above sea level. Its height was revised upward by 7 feet based on measurements made in 1999 using the satellite-based Global Positioning System.
12. Has the Moon always been so close?
It used to be much closer! A billion years ago, the Moon was in a tighter orbit, taking just 20 days to go around us and make a month. A day on Earth back then was only 18 hours long. The Moon is still moving away -- about 1.6 inches (4 centimeters) a year. Meanwhile, Earth's rotation is slowing down, lengthening our days. In the distant future, a day will be 960 hours long.
13. What is the longest river?
The Nile River in Africa is 4,160 miles (6,695 kilometers) long.
14. What's the driest place on Earth?
A place called Arica, in Chile, gets just 0.03 inches (0.76 millimeters) of rain per year. At that rate, it would take a century to fill a coffee cup.
15. Where is the lowest dry point on Earth?
The shore of the Dead Sea in the Middle East is about 1,300 feet (400 meters) below sea level. Not even a close second is Bad Water in Death Valley, California, at a mere 282 feet below sea level.
More Amazing Facts to come. Drop a comment if you learnt anything new about the world you live in!

WHY MEN CHEAT.
It's been called everything from having an "improper relationship" to having an "undercover lover" to having a "freak on the side." But whatever name it's given, it means one thing -- cheating. And relationship experts say men are doing it now more than ever.
In fact, experts estimate that nearly 75 percent of married men, or men involved in serious relationships, cheat. That means three men out of every four practice infidelity, if the numbers are to be believed. And maybe even more disturbing is the simultaneous collapse of the seven-year itch, the once-disreputable length of time it was thought to normally take a man to give into sexual temptation. Today, studies show that most men who cheat are doing it within the first three years of a relationship.
What's going on here? Why the recent surge in male infidelity? Relationship counselors say it can be attributed to many factors, but perhaps the overriding reason men are cheating at an alarming rate is because it's easier than ever before.
Long gone are the days when a man and his mistress communicated by calling each other's home, letting the telephone ring once and hanging up. With technological advances such as pagers, cell phones, voice mail and e-mail, a Brother with a cheating heart can carry on a side relationship without much fear of getting caught, virtually staying in touch with the other woman 24/7 without his partner ever having a clue. Add to that, the increased daily contact between men and women, according to all available statistics, and even men who were onetime scared-cats have turned into bold and brazen cheaters.
For the ones who do cheat, the reasons vary. For some men, cheating feeds the ego. For others, it feeds their illusions that a man's role is to conquer as many women as possible, and a woman's sole purpose in life is to please men. And still others creep because of its intoxicating effects, providing an adrenaline rush. But whether a man considers cheating mental therapy, role playing or more thrilling than bungy-jumping, "nothing justifies it, nothing makes cheating okay.
While men many times have the false impression that they cheat simply to have uncommitted sex, experts say the reasons run much deeper. Of course, we all know that while men and women are both capable of cheating, it's often the guys who have the biggest problem keeping their belts firmly buckled. And we all know that no matter who it's with, why it's done, or where the after-hours canoodling takes place, cheating is-most of the time-the ultimate relationship death sentence. But instead of dwelling on what happens after the cheating takes place, one of the ways to perhaps prevent infidelity is by knowing a little bit about why men stray
The following, according to experts, are the real reasons men cheat:
Women Stand For It:
Men wouldn't cheat if women didn't let them. Women marry men who have cheated on them during courtship, even though relationship experts warn that a man who cheats on his fiancee, or even his girlfriend, will probably cheat on his wife. But the reality is that the world is filled with scores of lonely women looking for love. Men are well aware that the loneliness some women feel is so strong that they are willing to settle for a cheater, and write off his scurrilous ways as a simple case of "boys will be boys." At day's end, these women would rather lie down next to a cheater than no man at all.
To Fulfill His Biology:
You know the old anthropological tale. A man's main job, besides killing the saber-tooth, is to spread his seed in order to ensure the survival of his genetic legacy. It's a man's biology to want to wander. Does that mean he should, or that he can't help it? Of course not. But it does mean that a man is going to have strong-extremely strong-biological urges to knock on the doors of neighboring huts. Are men predestined to cheat? The answer is no, they're not-despite their biology. But often times, they do have to fight it.
To Get the Attention:
News flash: Sure, some guys cheat because, well, maybe the sexual frequency has slowed a bit, and maybe hot-and-heavy happens at home about as often as Rob Schneider gets nominated for an Oscar. But the truth is that plenty of men who are having regular sex with their partner are also having sex with someone else. Why? Because cheating isn't just about the sex. Just as a woman who cheats may be seeking more affection than what she's getting at home, a man often cheats because he's seeking the attention that he no longer gets at home. Part of the allure of the mysterious woman isn't just to find out what she looks like naked; it's that the woman showers the man with flirtations, with seduction, with advances that make him feel like he's worthy of more than just fixing dents in the drywall.
Frustration Over Present Relationship:
It all sounded good at first, sharing his life, his hopes, his dreams in an exciting relationship with one special lady. But soon after the newness wore off, his romantic visions of a wonderful future shifts to the realities of a problem-filled daily existence. The dishwasher's broken, the car needs a new transmission, work is a pain and the bill collectors are calling. Before long, most of their conversations consist of taking care of mundane tasks. He begins to feel like his partner is more critical of him, more argumentative, and does not give him the attention that he deserves.
So he eventually cheats, viewing it as a way to obtain the emotion that is no longer present in his current relationship. With his undercover lover, there is no stress, no pressure. They both work hard to satisfy each other mentally and physically. They share their shortcomings, and in time develop an emotional bond.
Thrill-seeking:
This man is bored and likes the novelty of being with another woman. So rather than put energy into rekindling the relationship he has with his partner, developing a hobby or engaging in something else that will give him an adrenaline rush, he looks for excitement in all the wrong places -- first and foremost, in-between the sheets. He usually has a series of affairs with different women, moving from one to another one when the novelty wears off.
To Get Out:
A lots of guys simply don't have the strength to end it. They may try ("I'm just not happy"), or they may take other tactics to drive a woman away. A lot of guys simply have trouble breaking off relationships because they don't want to be perceived as that bad guy, the jerk, the insensitive lout who ended something good. So they tiptoe around the issue in hopes that she'll get so frustrated that she'll back out first. Well, if that doesn't work, then a man knows that the only way out is to commit the relationship sin that drives a woman away for good. It's not right, but it's what happens.
Ego Boost:
The cheating game is filled with men looking for reassurance of their manhood from a woman other than the one he's involved with. He feels a lack of self-worth and self-esteem, and cheating provides a mental vacation, an escape from the responsibilities of his daily life. He has convinced himself that his cheating heart can cure his wallowing psyche.
A Spiritual Emptiness:
Few religions condone a man having an intimate relationship with more than one woman. In fact, most refer to it as die ultimate sin. Forsaking all others is at the core of any spiritually based relationship. Therefore, experts say that a man who chooses to partake in one of the few acts that is strictly forbidden in most religious teachings hints at his lack of spirituality. With a religious foundation, a man will understand that perhaps the only thing strong enough to quell temptations raging inside of him is a strong spiritual base.
Climate Of Instant Gratification:
His personal values have become confused with society's "just-do-it" mentality. He thinks and acts in 30-second sound bites, with no thought about the repercussions of his actions. He sees no reason to rein in his feelings and desires. If he thinks a woman is attractive, he'll go after her, never letting a little thing like his present relationship stand in his way.
Seeking Revenge:
He's angry at something his partner said or did, and is looking to even the score, even if that means breaking the rules. In his mind, he feels cheating is a justified way to make the scales balanced again. For angry men, cheating provides a challenge. Although he figures his partner will never find out about it, simply knowing how much it would hurt her if she did is enough to satisfy most seething men.
So what happens after a man cheats? Experts say if his partner doesn't find out about transgressions, a man will most likely continue to do it. While there are numerous reasons why man cheats, one simple fact remains: Most men don't want to stop playing the cheating game, even though a cheater "must forever keep his lies straight,"
When a cheater is finally unmasked and the stick of dynamite he's been secretly holding finally explodes, all trust in him is lost, and the message to the man's partner is painfully clear. Nothing is as personal as cheating.
But the first time a man is caught doesn't necessarily spell the end of his relationship with his significant other. Relationship therapists say that if a man is remorseful and his partner is forgiving, things can be patched up.
Experts also say many women may be milling to forgive once, but that's it. The old adage, `Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me,'
The most significant I learnt from this article is that we women let men cheat. We are so desperate for love that we would rather lie next to a cheating man than no man at all. And any man who has cheated before will cheat again. So what do you do when you really love the cheating man you are in a relationship with? Is it so easy to walk away? How many times do you have to forgive? How do you forgive? And how do you move on from that without thinking all men cheat? How do you trust the next man that comes into your life? How do you deal with the hurt? Send me your thoughts.

The media coverage of the event was massive. Most Newspapers and Magazines sent a representative to cover the event.
From March 29th to April 2nd, all hotels were fully booked.
There was also free flights for all. All you had to do was show your invitation at Arik Airlines or Virgin Nigeria counters and you get on the plane.

Activities have commensed at the resort as banks and other organisations have gotten spaces. Tinapa is a free trade zone, most of the goods will be cheaper than buying elsewhere.
This is a great initiative by donald Duke. I hope other State Governors take a cue from this and build infrastructures that would transform Nigeria and help it's trade and tourism potentials.
Kudos to 'The Duke'

DENRELE EDUN QUOTE!
Denrele Edun on himself
"Sometimes I'm an angel, sometimes I am a devil. Sometimes I'm in-between. Sometimes I'm a million colours and sometimes I am black and white. But the thing is, you can never figure me out. I am very wild and also unpredictable. The truth is I do things just to please myself. I can be as bad as it can get, as good as it can be and I am always ready to work. My greatest fear is not having work to do. I am a fun-loving person. I am a bit two-faced. When I'm going through problems, I mask it. I don't want people to know because people look at me to make them happy. So I always try my best to put up a smile for everyone"
On the gay issue
"It's disgusting to say I'm gay. I don't know if anyone has seen me with any man that has come to drop me in front of my house. Or with a man in a corner, kissing and snuggling to each other. That's really disgusting! I can tell you no man in this country or wherever can open his mouth to say he has done anything with me. That's the truth"
I love this guy to bits!

RAMSEY NOUAH QUOTE!
On his fans
"I get embarrassed by some fans. That's a cross we have to carry as actors. Everyone doesn't understand that you're human after all. There are people who don't like you. maybe because of your actions on TV, there are some who love you and probably are expecting a whole lot of love and warmth. If they don't get it, they just throw it out on you, saying some nasty words and all that. That's our life. It's not that I'm happy about it, it hurts me when they do that to me, but what can I do? Sometimes they call me on the phone and say "Is this Ramsey?", I would say yes. The next thing is "You're an idiot, you're a fool", then they'll just bang the phone on you. But 70% of my fans are really, really nice. Most times they call and tell you how much they love and appreciate you. The very touchy ones was when I had my accident. Some of them called and said "They would rather die than have me dead"
On his drinking
I don't have any particular brand of drink. I love beer. I drink some spirit. I'm not a cognac person. I'm a whiskey person. I like spirits, like Baccaddi, Vodka. I have never been drunk in my life, because I know when to call it quits. I think I have a very high resistance to alcohol naturally. I don't know why but I do"
I used to have a crush on Ramsey. Alot of us young girls in the early 90's day-dreamed about him. Y'all remember when he was on Fortunes Soap-opera 94/95? He was the finest male on Television then. He was the first celebrity I begged to take a picture with in 1997. I still had a crush on him then until he came to Unilag in 2000 to shoot a movie in one of the boys hostels. After being around him for a few hours, my friends and I were like "What's this crush about?"...Oh well we all grew up I guess. He's still cute though.

ENTERTAINMENT GISTS!

The baby daddy is...
Larry Birkhead. He was named the biological father of Anna Nicole Smith's baby girl, Dannilynn Hope, after a court in the Bahamas revealed the paternity results today April 10th.
Howard K. Stern, Anna's longtime lawyer who claimed to be the father of the baby is not expected to interfere but Anna's estranged mother, Virgie Arthur, reportedly intends to appeal for custody of the little girl

Wayne Rooney's Fiancee, Coleen McLoughlin recently turned 21 and the Man U football star threw a very lavish, exclusive party for her. He was said to have given her a diamond ring worth millions. Lucky girl!

Eve just released a new single called 'Tambourine'
Haven't heard from my girl in a longtime, wonder what this sounds like.

Also MoNique's new comedy 'Charm School' is about to debut in the US. I hope it's as hot as 'The Parkers'

WOLE SOYINKA'S 'YOU MUST SET FORTH AT DAWN'
I've spent the last two hours reading the very very very voluminous latest work of Africa's first Nobel Prize winner Wole Soyinka. A new memoir called 'You must set forth at dawn'. This book is one of the biggest books I have ever seen in my life. He must have spent months writing it...on a second thought, knowing his intellectual capabilities, it probably would have taken him a few weeks. This book is so big that the thought of reading from start to finish was scary for me lol. I saw it with a friend and borrowed it. I was only able to read some pages in some chapters.
For those who are Soyinka loyalists like myself, I'd like to share some of the things He talked about in his memoir.
The book covers his incarceration, his death sentence in absentia meted out by the late tyrant, Sani Abacha in 1997. He also talked about his many exiles from Nigeria and his political involvements.
In the opening chapter, Soyinka talked about a particular close friend he called Femi Johnson whose corpse he was flying back to Nigeria for burial, having exhumed him from a graveyard in Wiesbade. Femi was obviously someone very close to his heart as he portrayed their friendship in a passionate manner.
Other chapters of this memoir touch on history in other parts of Africa. For instance, not too many people know that Soyinka brokered a cease-fire between the Inkatha Freedom Party Chieftain, Mangosuthu Buthelezi and the African National congress of of Nelson Mandela in 1991, at a time when factional violence threatened to disrupt South Africa's future.
It was also in this memoir that I discovered that Fela Anikulapo-Kuti is Soyinka's cousin, describing the final hour before Fela's death. Soyinka obviously held Fela in high esteem.
Another chapter talked about when he imported a frozen wildcat to Italy for a barbecue to cheer up cast members of one his plays. The way he described that part was hilarious.
In one chapter he talked about how after receiving his Nobel Prize in 1986, he dried up creatively for a while and how he subsequently got out of it.
The book covers the history of Nigeria, some parts of Africa, pictures of maps outlining the division of Nigeria's borders and pictures of himself as he metamorphosed from a young man with a dream to the intellectual legend that he is now.
Soyinka ended the memoir with his return to Nigeria by saying 'I have returned to the place I never should have left'. You guys need to at least go through this book. You will understand the politics and history of Nigeria better.
Maybe one day I'll read the whole book from start to finish, take it chapter by chapter. I had to force myself to drop it some minutes ago. That's how powerful the book is.
This is not Soyinka's first memoir, he released Ake many years ago, but I've not been privileged to read that piece.
Soyinka's career as a writer and poet has been full. His writing, though most fiction, has depth and quality. He has written novels, plays, poetry, critical essays, memoir of his early life and another book dedicated to his father.
My favourite Soyinka works
Abiku
Telephone Conversation
The Trials Of Brother Jero
The Lion and the Jewel
Kongi's Harvest

GREATEST MOVIE MOBSTERS OF ALL TIME.
Played by: Al Pacino
Tony Montana was a Cuban refugee who arrived in America and underwent a meteoric rise to the top of Miami’s criminal underworld. Feared because of his "balls of steel", Montano was willing to kill anyone who gots in his way (except women and kids). Montana lived the American dream, before suffering an equally meteroric fall.
3. Al Capone
Film: The Untouchables
Played by: Robert DeNiro
In third place is Robert DeNiro's powerful portrayal of legendary gangster Al Capone. DeNiro insisted on wearing the same style of silk underwear that Capone wore, even though it would never be seen on camera. The producers, knowing DeNiro's reputation as a "Method" actor, provided the pants.
4. Jules Winnfield
Film: Pulp Fiction
Played by: Samuel L Jackson
In Pulp Fiction, Samuel L Jackson plays Jules, a gun-toting hitman sent out to retrieve and guard a mysterious suitcase on behalf of big boss Marsellus Wallace. After experiencing a "divine intervention", Jules decides to give up the gang lifestyle for good and plans to "wander the earth".
5. Nicky SantoroFilm: Casino
Played by: Joe Pesci
The character of Nicky Santoro was based on real-life mobster Anthony 'The Ant' Spilotro. In the film Santoro is sent to Las Vegas by the bosses to make sure that the wiseguys there are kept in line. Santoro is a loose cannon in every sense of the word. In one savage scene, he stabs a man in the neck with a pen multiple times solely for insulting his friend.
7. Don Logan
Film: Sexy Beast (2000)
Played by: Ben Kingsley
Nearly 20 years after winning an Academy Award for his role in Gandhi, Ben Kingsley was back to his best as the frightening Don Logan in Sexy Beast. Logan is a crook coming out of retirement for one last heist. Shifting between raving lunatic and cold, calculating schemer, Logan steals the show every time he is on screen.
8. Bill The Butcher
Film: Gangs Of New York (2002)
Played by: Daniel Day-Lewis
The eighth favourite gangster is none other than Bill the Butcher from Gangs Of New York. The character was based on real-life ruffian Bill Poole, who was a member of the Bowery Boys street gang.
9. Reggie Kray
Film: The Krays (1989)
Played by: Martin Kemp
Casting former pop icons Gary and Martin Kemp (of Spandau Ballet) as the notorious Kray twins was a stroke of genius for Peter Medak's gritty film. Martin Kemp in particular stands out as the fearsome Reggie Kray.
10. Bill GuerrardFilm: The Ice Harvest (2005)
Played by: Randy Quaid
In 10th place is Bill Guerrard, the slimy crime lord of 'The Ice Harvest'. As well as running a string of Witchita brothels, Bill also happens to kill people for a living. Not the sort of chap you'd want to meet down a dark alley.
My greatest movie mobster is Marlon Brando's Don Vito Corleone character in the Godfather. I don't know of any other villain more lovable.
By the way, if you haven't seen the movie Alpha Dog, please go watch it. It's based on a true life story about the kidnapping and killing of a 15year old boy by his older brother's friends. The movie is heart-wrenching. A must see! It features Justin Timberlake, Bruce Willis and Sharon Stone

TOP TEN INVENTIONS OF ALL TIME.
The contraceptive pillThe computer
The internetThere have been great inventions by great minds. Inventions that have made life more interesting for everyone of us. Imagine a life without the internet...how the heck will I know there's a Bella Naija or Waffarian somewhere in the world. Without planes we'd be in a ship for months trying to go from one country to another. No wonder it was not listed in the top ten inventions of all time. And with DNA, you can confirm if that child is really yours lol. And without contraceptives, the high rate of abortion will be astounding, which could lead to early deaths for some women. Oyibo people na wa o! Abeg can anyone tell me what any African man has helped to invent in the history of the world. I'm sure we've done something before, anyone know what it is?
Meanwhile my all time favourite invention of all time is the Aeroplane. How anyone could think of having something as big and heavy as that fly in the air still amazes me.
What's your own invention of all time?

STEPHANIE OKEREKE'S BROKEN HEART!
I'm sure alot of you have heard about top Nollywood actress, Stephanie Okereke's crashed marriage to her American-based football player hubby, Chikelue Iloenyosi. They had a traditional marriage sometime in 2004 and by the end of 2006, the marriage was history!
I usually don't like to butt into other people's business but I've decided to talk about Stephanie and her problems because I know alot of us women have gone through or will go through what she's going through right now and also because she has been granting endless interviews about her marriage, the hubby in question, everything he did to her and all that went on. Stephanie, unlike so many other women, was very open about everything that transpired in their marriage. She talked about being the one who was feeding him, bought him a car, how he cheated on her with so many other women and how he uses woman to rise. Believe me, she said all this and many more about her husband. According to press reports, her husband went to a radio station to announce that he's left Stephanie because she wasn't a good wife and should seize using his name. This I'm sure must have angered Stephanie because she immediately started talking to the press and painting her hubby in a bad light.
Now, I don't know what exactly led to the demise of their young marriage, only Steph and Chikelue know the real truth, but I do know that Stephanie is still reeling from the shock of the end of her once happy marriage. I saw her recently and she wasn't her bubbly old self. The spark wasn't in her eyes anymore.
I remember seeing her on Funmi Iyanda's New
Dawn and she couldn't stop talking about this guy...it was Chikelue this, Chikelue that, saying how she was happy and lucky to have met her soulmate only for us hear a different story less than a year later. The love has turned sour as the once upon a time lovebirds have turned to 'enemies'.
There's nothing more painful and devastating than witnessing the end of a marriage, especially to someone you sincerely and deeply love. I know for sure that Stephanie is going through a rough patch right now, not just because she had once loved this guy but also because of the stigma that comes with being divorced in this part of the world. I do know that a few of her 'friends' are laughing at her behind her back, there's also been talk by the media that didn't piant her well, blaming her for her woes, I also know there are a few friends who have been very helpful to her in her moments of trials, just like I know that God has a reason for doing everyhing he does. If it didn't work out with her and this guy, then it's simply because God wants it so!
One of the things Stephanie said in her interviews is that alot of people warned her about marrying the guy but she was too stubborn and too inlove to care and now she was paying for that nonchalance.
When it comes to love, it's okay to be stubborn and take a chance with that person you love. If it doesn't work out, at least you know it was your choice, your decision. There's nothing better than having experienced love. Like they say, 'It's better to have loved and lost than not having loved at all'.
I've heard alot of women complain about their relationships and marriages. Some of my friends who are married aren't happily so! Either because they rushed into marrige before they were pyschologically ready for it, or they married for the wrong reasons or just married the wrong man. Men who are chronic liars and cheats for example. Nothing causes more unhappiness in a marriage than that. So many women want to walk out of their marriages, especially in Nigeria, but when they see how our society sometimes treat women who left their husbands, they stay in their marriages and stick it out.
Having said that, I think the least reason you should walk out on your marriage, especially if you've invested so many years in it and have children to consider, is infidelity. Please I'm not supporting infidelity, infact I abhor it! If there was anything women could do about their men cheating, I'd beg them to do it. But the reality of it is that there's nothing we can do about it. No matter how beautiful, intelligent, successful, caring and loving you are, there's a high possibility that your man will cheat on you. (Eric cheated on a woman like Halle, and don't say it's because she wasn't always there for him, men always look for an excuse to justify their actions!). Women...men will cheat, the only difference is that you wont know about it. It doesn't mean they love you less...it's just the way some men are.
You can walk out of a relationship that is not marriage if the man isn't faithful. You really have nothing to loose. But if you have made a commitment to each other, have built a life together, and have children together and you walk out of that relationship because of infidelity, there's no guarantee that the next man you go to won't cheat on you. If you stay, there's a possiblity that the man will change and if he's not completely faithful to you, he might reduce the number of men he cheats on you with. There's nothing more touching to a man than being shown real love, care and support despite their shortcomings.
I don't belive that all men cheat. There are some decent, God fearing and principled men who stick to their partners faithfully. If you have a man like that, count yourself very lucky.
I think the only time you should walk out of your marriage is when your man flaunts his affairs in your face and doesn't care if you find out about it. Or he tells you about it and tells you to either live with it or take a walk. (This has happened to some women I know). Also if he treats you very badly, doesn't care about your feelings or happiness, then maybe you should take a walk. Nothing can be worse than that out there! So whatever you find will be better than what you have right now. Like Tyler Perry said in 'The Diary Of A Mad Black Woman', 'Sometimes we hold unto things that even God himself is trying to tear us away from'.
If you are not happy and think you can't live with his infidelity, then leave. Like Whitney Houston said 'It's better to be alone than unhappy'. You can't take it anymore...then take a walk before you're destroyed forever. Some women have been known to turn to lesbianism just because of how they were treated by their men. That's too sad!
Lastly, alot of people say 'Don't try to change your man, he won't change'. I'm saying you can't change your man, there's no question of even trying. He will only change if 'he' wants to change. All you can do is love him in every way it's possible to love a man and be supportive. He just might change!
Forgiveness is also very important in a relationship. If you can't forgive, then you just might have a lot of problems. If you do forgive him for lying and cheating on you, he just might be a 'new man' for you. Kobe's wife forgave his cheating, they are still together and waxing stronger. Why should you let some 'woman' take away your happiness. As long as he's remorseful...forgive him! What's love without second chances?
It's a crazy world we live in, when it comes to matters of the heart, let's put everything in prayer. God knows best! May he continue to guide us.
As for Stephanie, she's beautiful, talented, hardworking, young and has so much to give. It can only get better for her. If it didn't work out with this guy, she will find someone else. All she needs to do is be patient and reach out to him when he eventually comes. I just hope this experience won't make her shut-out other men. Love again and believe that God has special plans and many surprises for you.
May we all fall in love, stay in love, be loved in return and be happy in that love...Amen.

SEUN KUTI SMOKES MARIJUANA!

Q. Do you smoke?
S. Yes I smoke but I don't know if it has any good or bad effect.
Q. It is obvious you inherited smoking Marijuana from Fela. What is your attitude towards it?
S. I don't call it Marijuana. I call it 'Igbo' and my attitude towards it is that I get high. All I feel is that everybody has to start smoking 'Igbo' so that they will start reasoning well. I just don't know why Nigerians are pretending. Most people will get high in the corner of their house and then will later come out and say it is a bad habit. I know of a pastor who comes to Kalakuta to smoke before going to the alter to preach.
At only 24, son of late Afro-Beat legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Seun is smoking Marijuana and boasting about it. He even thinks we all need to smoke Marijuana to reason well. He either needs his blood pressure checked or his head examined.
Can anyone explain the need to smoke and get high? And when they say high, what do they mean? And does drugs really make people high? I'm sure there is someone out there who can explain this to me. I'd really like to know.

EFCC BOSS TENURE ENDS TODAY!
The tenure of Mallam Nuhu Ribadu as Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) will today Sunday April 8th, expire, according to the Act of National Assambly setting up the anti-corruption agency.
Ribadu, a Commissioner of Police and lawyer by training, was appointed in April 2004 for a three year tenure which according to the EFCC Act is renewable for another term of three years.
President Olusegun Obasanjo who is the appointing authority has not discussed the issue of renewal of tenure with Ribadu who has been in the United States for close to two weeks to drum up support for the work of the agency.
The President, is however still undecided about whether to renew the EFCC chairman's tenure or just leave him to act for the eight weeks when the life of the President administration will expire so that the next President will handle the issue alongside other key appointments which he would have to make in his very first few days in office.
If President Obasanjo takes the first option by announcing Ribadu's re-appointment, then he will have to wait till May 1 when the Senate will reconvene after their present recess.
I hope he continues as the Chairman of EFCC. He's really done a great job of exposing and arresting corrupt Nigerians.

CHINWE CHUKWUOGO-ROY
Chinwe Chukwuogo-Roy's talent spans a wide and varied canvas. She captures the essence of her subjects with her life studies in oils and pastels and has earned international recognition. Although the subjects nearest her heart are portraits in oils, the artist also sculpts in clay.
She was born in Eastern Nigeria and obtained her B.A. Hons. degree in Graphic Design in England, after which she moved to painting. Her portraits are based on the traditional method but with a dash of colour that reflects her origin and a 'joie de vivre' that gives them a life of their own.
Chinwe Chukwuogo-Roy's paintings have successfully captured the vibrancy and breadth of the African culture. Her cultural series has picked subjects from the different countries she had visited to produce a panorama of the many aspects of African Life. The Africa - Past, Present, Future series is a critical look at the continents rich history and civilisations bringing the art lover an insight into it's vibrant past.

THE WORLD'S TEN WORST DICTATORS
Since 2003, Bashir’s campaign of ethnic and religious persecution has killed at least 180,000 civilians in Darfur in western Sudan and driven 2 million people from their homes. The good news is that Bashir’s army and the Janjaweed militia that he supports have all but stopped burning down villages in Darfur. The bad news is why they’ve stopped; there are few villages left to burn and their attacks are now aimed at refugee camps.
2. Kim Jong-il, North Korea
Age 63. In power since 1994
While the outside world focuses on Kim Jong-il’s nuclear weapons program, domestically he runs the world’s most tightly controlled society with an estimated 250,000 people confined in "reeducation camps."Malnourishment is widespread and according to the United Nations World Food Program, the average 7-year-old boy in North Korea is almost 8 inches shorter and more than 20 pounds lighter than a South Korean boy of the same age .
3. Than Shwe, Burma (Myanmar)
Age 72. In power since 1992
In November 2005, without warning, Than Shwe moved his entire government from Rangoon (Yangon), the capital for the last 120 years, to Pyinmana, a remote area 245 miles away. Civil servants were given two days’ notice and are forbidden from resigning. The long-standing house arrest of Aung San Suu Kyi, winner of the 1991 Nobel Peace Prize and Than Shwe’s most feared opponent, recently was extended for six months. Just to drive near her heavily guarded home is to risk arrest.
Age 81. In power since 1980
Zimbabwe is a tough place to live. It has the world’s highest inflation rate, 80% unemployment and an HIV/AIDS rate of more than 20%. Life expectancy has declined since 1988 from 62 to 38 years. Farming has collapsed since 2000, when Mugabe began seizing white-owned farms, giving most of them to political allies with no background in agriculture. In 2005, Mugabe launched Operation Murambatsvina (Clean the Filth), the forcible eviction of some 700,000 people from their homes or businesses.

5. Islam Karimov, Uzbekistan
Age 67. In power since 1990
In 2005 Karimov ordered a mass killing in the city of Andijan after 23 businessmen, held in prison and awaiting a verdict, were freed by their supporters, who then held an open meeting in the town square. An estimated 10,000 people gathered, expecting government officials to come and listen to their grievances. Instead, Karimov sent the army, which massacred hundreds of men, women and children. A 2003 law made Karimov and all members of his family immune from prosecution forever
Although some Chinese have taken advantage of economic liberalization to become rich, up to 150 million Chinese live on $1 a day or less. There are no privately owned TV or radio stations and the government opens and censors mail and monitors phone calls, faxes, e-mails and text messages. Less than 5% of criminal trials include witnesses, and the conviction rate is 99.7%
7. King Abdullah, Saudi Arabia
Age 82. In power since 1995
In Saudi Arabia, phone calls are recorded and mobile phones with cameras are banned. It is illegal for public employees to engage in dialogue with local and foreign media. By law, all Saudi citizens must be Muslims. Saudi women may not appear in public with a man who isn’t a relative, must cover their bodies and faces in public and may not drive.
8. Saparmurat Niyazov, Turkmenistan
Age 65. In power since 1990
Niyazov has closed all of the hospitals outside the capital and ordered Turkmenistan’s physicians to give up the Hippocratic Oath and to swear allegiance to him instead. The latest examples of his government-by-whim include bans on car radios, lip-synching and playing recorded music on TV or at weddings.
He died Dec 21st 2006
Age 66. In power since 1989
Even though Iran has an elected government the county is ultimately run by the 12-man Guardian Council, overseen by the Ayatollah Khamane’i, which has the right to veto any law that the government passes. Khamane’i has shut down the free press, tortured journalists and ordered the execution of homosexual males.
10. Teodoro Obiang Nguema, Equatorial Guinea
Age 63. In power since 1979
Obiang took power in this tiny West African nation by overthrowing his uncle more than 25 years ago. Since major oil reserves were discovered in Equatorial Guinea in 1995, Obiang has deposited more than $700 million into special accounts in U.S. banks. Meanwhile, most of his people live on less than $1 a day.
We've had our own share of bad dictators here in Nigeria but going through the profiles of the above listed dictators and what they've turned their country and people into, I feel we've been blessed. I didn't know that women were banned from driving in Iraq and homosexual males were killed in Iran. Zimbabwe even has an unemployment rate of 80%. What kind of a country is that?
For all our faults, Nigeria is still a peacful country, where women are allowed to do everything a man is allowed to do, where no one is forced to follow a certain religion, where the rights and liberties of it's people are protected and respected to a large extent. There's unemployement in Nigeria no doubt, but not 80% for Christ sake. That's too sad!
When I hear about the ways people live and survive in other countries, I feel blessed to be Nigerian. Our leaders might be corrupt but life for the average Nigerian is not that bad. You can only realise that when you visit other countries and see the way it's people live.

ANOTHER TEENAGER STABBED IN LONDON!

Paul Erhahon
What is going on in London for goodness sake? All this killing of teenagers by teenagers is getting out of hand. Is there no parental and authority control over there? Why are this children allowed to destroy themselves?
Another teenager was stabbed and killed yesterday Friday April 6th. The victim was 14 year old Paul Erhahon, who was stabbed alongside his 15-year-old friend near a block of flats in Leytonstone during a confrontation with a large gang of youths. His friend survived it but Paul later died in the hospital.
His murder follows a number of other violent gang-related murders involving teenagers in the UK.
You all remember Adam Regis? 15-year-old nephew of Olympic sprinter John Regis, who was stabbed to death in an east London street last month, just days after 16-year-old Kodjo Yenga was knifed to death in west London.
In February 2007 alone, three teenagers were shot dead in separate incidents in south London.
And remember 11 year old Damilola Taylor?
What is going on people? Especially you Nigerians who live in the UK. Are your kids safe there? This killing seem to be getting out of hand and I am so scared for Nigerian teenagers growing up in such an environment.
And why isn't the Government over there doing anything to clip the wings of this teenager? They are letting them get away with something as serious as murder. They are killing people like it's the most natural thing to do. What is the problem? what are they fighting about? And the worse part of all this is that it's mostly blacks that are being killed...by their fellow blacks. 70% or more of the dead teenagers are Africans. Why? Murder committed by children who should be in school studying to be better in life.
If all they know now as teenagers is carrying weapons, violence and murder, what will happen when they become adults? Soon London will become very volatile if nothing is done about this ASAP!
I think it's time the Government take a very drastic measure to curb this insanity. Young people don't deserve to die this way...no one deserves to be stabbed to death over issues I'm sure are very trivial.
Sincerely I fear for Nigerian teenagers who live in this part of London. If you think it's not safe for your children over there, move them to a safer environment or simply send them back home. Home is safer!

WEST AFRICAN IDOLS
Hi everyone. How are you enjoying your Easter holiday? I hope everything is going accordingly?May God continue to guide and protect us all.
I'm just back from West Africa Idol at Planet One Events, nothing spectacular happened except that I realised that there is talent in this country. Real talent! The contestants were incredible, especially Timi, Eric, Omawunmi, and Jodie. Jodie got a standing ovation from the audience. I'd thought Timi was the best amongts the contestants but Eric and Jodie prooved me wrong. I think it's between those three. Anyway, may the best man win.
All in all it was a great way to unwind. I had fun!
All you Idol WA ardent followers, who do you think should win this competition? Let's know what you think.

GOOD FRIDAY!
Happy celebrations everyone! Today is good Friday and there's just so many things good about today...for me at least...Hope it's the same for you too. I'm off to church to celebrate the death of Christ and thank him for everything he's done in my life. If you can, please go to church, even if it's just to celebrate the gift of life. There were just so many people with hopes and expectations who didn't live to see today. We are blessed to still be alive, let's thank God for that.
Also, I went out driving today and for the first time in weeks, there was no traffic in the city of Lagos. Can anyone imagine that? Those who live in Lagos know what I'm talking about. It was so unbelievable, especially on a Friday afternoon...something dey happen o! If only it's always like this...life would be so much easier for Lagosians.
Anyway, do have yourselves a beautiful day. I'll see if I can find time to give you more gists. And remember, no furnication o, today na holy day o. If you must do, do am small small o!
Do take care. Love and Kisses!!! Linda

BEYONCE'S ENGAGEMENT RING!

See that ring on Beyonce's finger? Look closely at it...CLOSER! It says SHAWN. Y'all know who SHAWN is right? SHAWN Carter? Yup...Jay Z has finally done it! He asked for her hand in marriage and B said YES! Now they are formally engaged. Their children together will be soooo bloody...in a good way I mean o!lol
I've never worn a ring from a man, wonder what that will feel like...hoping he doesn't ask for it back lol. The way marriages and engagements are ending these days is alarming. May God lead us all to make the right decisions and choose the right partners. By the way, where do you wear an engagement ring? Middle finger or wedding finger? Hey!...don't even go there... I'm just curious. Anyone know?
