It records video, takes photo and plays music -in very high quality I should add- and provides functions such as web browsing, emails, IMs and BBM service -which I absolutely love. As far as I know, the BBM is one thing I know other phones can't get no matter how they try. Its just a very unique thing with Blackberry. BB made me know what 'pings' are and no other phone can take that. Its spectacular. I've been using BB since 2008 and the feel of using one never gets old. I trade one for another. The BIS is also very affordable and I get value for my money. The BB world is amazing and I've downloaded a whole lot of apps from there for affordable charges and even free apps too. The mobile operating system is fantastic. Blackberry passport- I saw one with a colleague of mine and I loved the camera most especially because it is able to rewind frame-by-frame to allow best selection of the best shot! Very intelligent full qwerty keyboard and user interface. I also got to know it is marketed to professional fields such as healthcare & architecture. My love affair with blackberry started a couple of years back, it was during my final year in the university as my course of study had a lot to do with constant analytical research. I had initially bought a laptop to aid my studies and to access the internet with as well as run spreadsheets but ‘NEPA wahala’ and the high cost of internet plus the stress of carrying laptop ‘up and down’ made me ditch the my laptop for a blackberry and since then our romance has been nothing but awesome!
Its swift access to internet, fast and easy downloads, voice notes sending, blackberry messaging services and my favorite- its ‘push e-mail’ are just few of the main features that attracted and endeared this mobile device. And even after I left the university and started working, literarily I never dropped my blackberry for one day. My blackberry has evolved from being something I used for music downloads, assignments and projects as a student to being my personal assistant, mobile office and yes, my fashion accessory! My seeming addiction to blackberry has seen me use various models of BB as we fondly call it from curve1(my first) the Q-series.
Several months ago or early this year I guess, it was reported that the blackberry company was having financial issues and could be crash or be sold. I cried. I had used the company’s product to long and derived so much satisfaction doing so that I was beginning to feel a sense of belonging with the blackberry community. I even wrote a verifiable lengthy article on my Facebook wall with the theme “If I owed TheBlackberryCompany, was on their Board or a Staff”, in the article I gave blend of free advice, suggestions and appeal on why RIM and blackberry company must not go down and that even if they had one customer left, it would be me.
I was indeed very ecstatic when I learnt that the company has bounced back and introduced the Z10 and later the Q10. I opted for the Q10 because I am more for a keyboard person than touch screen. At first I had issues understanding how to use the Q10 because the operational style was kind of different from the previous models, but immediately I understood and got used to it, it has been a ‘WOWing’ experience making my everyday life fun and easier be it business or pleasure. From its crystal clear image picture quality, to the swipe touch screen, it’s simply a quantum leap into the future mobile telephony today!
However having used all the major three brands specifically available to Nigerians( Blackberry, Android and iPhone), I can confidently say that the blackberry remains the best for these three major owning to my first usage experiences. My reasons for the choice of blackberry and falling in love with it are summarized into these three: 1. It has the most efficient internet structure: Blackberry provides access to the cheapest internet data plan and provides more internet data at a lower cost than any other phone brand. BB pioneered this structure 2. Efficient mail structure: Blackberry has made available the most robust and easy to use email structure. Due to competition between google and yahoo, Yahoo mail is sometimes inefficient on other brands of phones. Meanwhile other phone brands requires more settings for uncommon mails unlike Blackberry. Blackberry has geared easy access to emails. 3. Dynamic chat system. Blackberry developed the blackberry messenger (BBM) which has refined chatting on phones and created the platform for other chatting applications (whatsapp) to be developed. It got to a point that myself and a large number of phone users became addicted to BBM. People can literally be sleeping and chatting on BBM. I can personally be regarded as a BBM addict. I love, love, love your blog Ms.Linda! And although, I sparingly comment - by sparingly I mean two or three times, I thought I should say this, the grammatical errors are becoming too frequent! Poor syntax, punctuation and misspellings, especially of people's names abound.
I also notice that one or two other blogs publish blog-worthy news stories before you do. It hurts cos you're my go-to blog for interesting happenings in Nigeria even before I relocated to Nigeria. This comment comes from a place of love. You're the queen bee of bloggers in Nigeria and I want you to remain on top, so like Tim Gunn will say "Make it work". However having used all the major three brands specifically available to Nigerians( Blackberry, Android and iPhone), I can confidently say that the blackberry remains the best for these three major owning to my first usage experiences. My reasons for the choice of blackberry and falling in love with it are summarized into these three:
1. It has the most efficient internet structure: Blackberry provides access to the cheapest internet data plan and provides more internet data at a lower cost than any other phone brand. BB pioneered this structure
2. Efficient mail structure: Blackberry has made available the most robust and easy to use email structure. Due to competition between google and yahoo, Yahoo mail is sometimes inefficient on other brands of phones. Meanwhile other phone brands requires more settings for uncommon mails unlike Blackberry. Blackberry has geared easy access to emails.
3. Dynamic chat system. Blackberry developed the blackberry messenger (BBM) which has refined chatting on phones and created the platform for other chatting applications (whatsapp) to be developed. It got to a point that myself and a large number of phone users became addicted to BBM. People can literally be sleeping and chatting on BBM. I can personally be regarded as a BBM addict. Hmmm, to me, blackberry is like so awesome. A major smartphone that's easily accessible, affordable and user friendly. It records video, takes photo and plays music -in very high quality I should add- and provides functions such as web browsing, emails, IMs and BBM service -which I absolutely love. As far as I know, the BBM is one thing I know other phones can't get no matter how they try. Its just a very unique thing with Blackberry. BB made me know what 'pings' are and no other phone can take that. Its spectacular. I've been using BB since 2008 and the feel of using one never gets old. I trade one for another. The BIS is also very affordable and I get value for my money. The BB world is amazing and I've downloaded a whole lot of apps from there for affordable charges and even free apps too. The mobile operating system is fantastic. Blackberry passport- I saw one with a colleague of mine and I loved the camera most especially because it is able to rewind frame-by-frame to allow best selection of the best shot! Very intelligent full qwerty keyboard and user interface. I also got to know it is marketed to professional fields such as healthcare & architecture. That's a major and great deal for me because I'm a registered Nigerian nurse by profession. It will give me faster and easier access to patients' data. I would so thrilled to get this BB passport.
