Ex-NAFDAC DG Mrs Dora Akunyili made her first public appearance yesterday at the National Conference in Abuja after going through an undisclosed ailment that nearly claimed her life. Mrs Akunyili confirmed to reporters that she just came out of a major illness but she was well now and just needed time to put on some weight. Almost doesn't look like the same woman. God be with her!

Before we draw conclusions on the picture, can someone take a closer look at it? Linda, are you sure this picture wasn't edited, and her head placed on the body of an older woman? Because, looking closely and comparing with the first 'real' picture, the fingers and skin of the second look darker than the skin on her face. Some Nigerians are still smarter than you think. Indeed, for someone looking this pale to say she is well..and make such a bold public appearance, it can only be resilience and a continous passion to be a change agent for this nation. It can only be better imagined what she must have been through in the last one year. I salute your fighting spirit, madam. Even in d face of near death, you still fight.
