St. John’s Forum, a group of public spirited
Nigerians with deep interest in promoting the common good, good governance,
national development, peace and stability, announces the inaugural edition of
its Public Service Debates.
This maiden debate
will hold on
March, 26th 2014 at 11.00am at Agip Hall, Muson Centre, Onikan,
Lagos, with the motion: “Will Nigeria be better served by a parliamentary

The debate is part of a Public Service Debate
series designed to bring to the fore, critical issues that affects our society. The Forum’s aim is to promote and enhance
public awareness, dialogue, and encourage participatory thought on matters of
social and national importance.
The speaking panel at this maiden edition
comprises some of Nigeria's noblest minds, including Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka; former External
Affairs Minister, Mr Odein Ajumogobia
(SAN); Senate Deputy President, Senator Ike
Ekweremadu; renowned Oxford University scholar, Dr. Abdu Raufu Mustapha. The former Secretary-General of the
Commonwealth, Chief Emeka Anyaoku will
moderate the debate.
The St. John’s Forum is apolitical. It is a
platform committed to advancing dialogues that promote the common good in all
aspects of our national life. Its activities will be of interest to all
segments of the community - industry, commerce, the intelligentsia, the press,
politicians, decision makers, and indeed ordinary Nigerians. The Forum believes
that the coming together of such a diverse body of people with widely differing
backgrounds and aspirations to debate a singular issue, must ultimately promote
good.
The debate is open to the general public, and
all are welcome to engage the key speakers.
The first edition of the Public Service Debate
Series will hold on Wednesday, 26th March 2014 by 11:00am at
Agip Hall, Muson Center, Onikan, Lagos, Nigeria.

I just wish that the more the leaders debate or dialogue the more they disagree to the point of agreeing to divide this fake country into 3; one Nigeria trick has expired that's the reason behind terrorism,militant, debate and dialogue/conference, Nigeria can never be one country for real and that is why you see corruption everywhere. Parliamentary or presidential system, it's still the same group of people with the same corrupt idea will fill in there.One Nigeria is a game the leaders play to win billions from national treasury and it will never develop as one nation because it's more or less a game.keep watching you will see.

what change will it make?
I'm sorry to sound pessimistic...but how would this debate stop queues at the filling station or stop us from sleeping in darkness or stop Dezziani from using public funds to pay and maintain a charter jet and the lisy goes.... what we need is a revolution,it could be bloodless with intellectual minds like Soyinka etc.Things are getting terribly bad by the hour and nobody seems to really care.!

Thats brilliant. this is what we have been expecting for long, instead we see circus show name tagged as debate. we need more of this on critical issues concerning our policies and national decisions.
