Day 2 of Blackberry Passport Giveaway! Win two more phones

That yesterday's method of winning this Blackberry Passport phones will not work at all o..lol. Who's going to read all 6,000+ comments and pick two winners? Nah! We are changing the method of winning and I am the one picking the winners this time...in fact from now on...:-). (winners from day 1 will be picked from the first 200 comments).

So two people will win Blackberry Passport today but I don't want random selection with this. I want two LIB readers who really deserve it to win it. Plus you will be coming to see me to collect this phone, because I'd really like see some of my readers face to face and say thank you...:-)

So LIB readers, help me pick two names of LIB commenters you think deserve this phone. Minus the ones getting the 100k o. Let's spread the love....:-). And also suggest ways you think we should give it out for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. All the best

Today, the alarm on my blackberry torch, 9800 went off and this really broke my heart. You see, I have a 6 month old and a 2year old, so getting good sleep has just been a dream. Today, they both slept off at the same time, such a miracle, and I decided to catch some sleep, hoping it would be a lonngggg one. Then, my bb postpartum workout went off and this woke every one of us. OMG, whatttt? They never went back to sleep, and there went my life saving nap. Despite this, I forgave my blackberry. Why? This phone will best be described as my soldier. Been by my side the past 3 years. It's been outside my labour rooms 2wice, has grown with my 2year old, has experienced her rough love, being hit, tossed, thrown, scratched etc, but this rugged soldier has remained strong. A broken screen and a few dents have not stopped it from working for me. Everyone tells me the blackberry torch is the strongest ever made, and they are absolutely right, but mine is the strongest of them all, withstanding all weapons fashioned against it. My torch 9800 has helped me share and receive good/life changing news. My bbm display picture has been a board for new babies, birthdays, weddings, anniversaries and events. I blog, and this soldier has been part of that, helping me type fast and on the moment, making sharing my post on wordpress easy. When I share my posts to my bbm contacts, I get the best number of views ever. Emails come easy. I have read about the passport model, and it's such a dream phone. Perfect for a media person like me, with great multimedia features, quality camera, fm radio, wide display screen for media interviews and recordings, and the battery life is a blessing. For a mother, cheaper subscription means money saved for food, diapers and all.
I do not know the technicalities of the software, I only can tell the story of my life, with the soldier, my blackberry 9800. It is most special, because it is a gift from Obi Utom.
Even though I love the soldier, I need a passport this beautiful Christmas. A passport that will give me more access to happenings globally, and help me refresh this season. I hear the passport is one rugged one too. My soldier needs a comrade. To whom it may concern, will you help get him one?

If You are looking for elegance, style, a whole dose of mobile security and a dash of class then the blackberry phone is your phone.

I Consider myself a young upwardly mobile professional, hence the pioneering 'push mail' Technology of the Blackberry then blew me away, my emails received, read and replied on the Go! the continual devotion of time and energy to data protection, seamless contact recovery and the yet to be matched instant message facilities (Delivery mode, emoticons and the new features of timed messages/pictures)is highly innovative and user friendly

Back in the Day, i, like most Blackberry users did not mind trudging around daily with our chargers, yes it wasnt the most convenient thing to do (try fitting a blackberry charger into the front pocket of your snug jeans) but we did it smiling anyways .....Why? Because the 'Value' the Blackberry gives us in communication (official or socially) was unparalleled. Now i dont have to pack a charger around anymore because the New Blackberry phones come with batteries that have longer lasting properties,i can go from dusk till dawn on a full charge,My blackberry charger now has its resident permanent on a socket in my room.

Pray tell whats there not to love? Newer and cooler features with fantastic battery life, thats my blackberry please!!
if you want full touch screen features, there are enough models to satisfy you
or is it a blend of the Ol' School physical Keypad and a Touch screen..Q10,Q5,Touch,Some versions of the Bold series....seriously, need i say more?

All these fantastic value come in a study, practical no nonsense shape designed to fit well in the pocket, survive the rigors of daily abuse without BENDING(someone had to say that lol) yet still deliver high speed superior service and function on what i consider a mega subsidized data bundle package in Nigeria, did i mention i can use my phone as a hotspot? i get better value data for data and money for data on the blackberry phone than can be obtained on any other smart phone in Nigeria...and that is a fact

Hence it should not surprise you, that i feel emotion akin to nakedness whenever i am out of the house without my phones, this is not because of the fact that i left my phones behind....Nooooooo, its because i am out without my one touch(secured) device to the world ....its been 7years since this relationship started, watch me write a wonderful love story of i and my blackberry when we clock our silver jubilee

Blackbery.......simply the way to go

This new method is good, other ways you can give the gifts is meet the winners snap with them, let them snap with representatives of bb world & then have a group photo of you,the winner & representatives of bb. U then upload the pix & do ur normal stuff as a blogger, am sure that will encourage more people to believe & also participate.

The first two reasons still remain true for me today. As for BBM, my contact list was dwindling even back in December 2011 when I first wrote about my BlackBerry loyalty. Now it’s down to one regular contact. Plus, I can chat with any of my Android and iPhone friends via WhatsApp so BBM has become less important.

But that red indicator light? I love it as much as I ever have. I noted in my last post that iPhones don’t have a tiny little light that flashes when there’s a new message or alert. That’s still the case. And as one recent Blackberry to iPhone convert put it, “That’s what I miss most about my BlackBerry. Now I have to turn my phone on to check if I have new messages.”

(I should note I’ve seen indicator lights on Androids including the Samsung Galaxy which has an app that allows you to pick different color indicator lights for different types of alerts. One color for email and another for text, for example. Pretty cool.)

My physical keyboard is still a dealbreaker. I won’t give up on it and neither have other loyal BlackBerry fans. I’ve still never lost a typing race to my iPhone or Android friends, and typo free might I add. I have not met a single person who says they prefer touchscreen keyboards over the physical one I have.

So when BlackBerry, formerly known as Research In Motion, launched its new phones last month it was no surprise that those two key features that keep me in love with my BlackBerry, the indicator light and full keyboard, were still in play.

While my BBM is no longer a reason that keeps me a BlackBerry user I do have a new reason to remain loyal.

There are only but a few precise words that one can actually use to describe BLACKBERRY.
"A rare device that encompasses all: calls, messages, email, multimedia, pictures, browser amongst others" its the only device that keeps you glued and attentive to your phone, always peeping to see if the indicator light is blinking. Its been known to unite family, friends and loved ones, bridge the gap of distance, give job opportunities, make life easy and accessible to the populace and the world at large. It connects both the rich and poor.
It is a stressless device and the ONLY device that has the function of retrieving all documents, phone numbers and even text msgs should the phone get stolen or missing.(I am a testifier).
Its durability is the best in the market and above all its affordable to all, both rich, middle class, struggling and poor.
ITS AN OUTSTANDING DEVICE
THANK YOU FOR BRINGING THIS RARE, EXQUISITE, PORTABLE AND DURABLE MOBILE COMPUTER OUR WAY !!!!!

design
One of the biggest upside of this product is the unique squat square design. The 4.5-inch screen is instilled in a square chassis and is a breather from the staple rectangular design. Though at first most would want to disapprove the appearance of this product, but once you’ve got it in your hands we bet you’ll totally love it. Of course, owing to its square design, single hand functioning gets limited. But this is BlackBerry, and they’re more about their QWERTY keyboard than their full touchscreen capabilities. More so, we’re all acquainted with those large phablets that barely fit in the pocket, but are selling like hot cakes. So we think BlackBerry finally has a winner with these design aesthetics.

SUGGESTION! SUGGESTION! SUGGESTION!...
For the three remaining days, I suggest you pick two numbers at random from 1 to 100 and ask LIB readers to guess what numbers you picked, then you pick the first two correct entries. No one should send two different answers or more.
OR...
You pick two numbers at random from 0 to 9 and ask the readers to drop the the last two digits of ONLY one of their mobile lines. You select the first two lucky winners. At the end of the day, they will have to prove that the numbers they gave were actually the last two digits of their own mobile line by providing the full digits and you confirm that it is them by calling, if not, you drop them and pick another winner until you get the genuine winners. It's time we started being disciplined, don't you think? Look out for multiple entries also. And stress that any multiple entry noticed is automatically disqualified.
Meanwhile, one of the Blackberry passports for me for suggesting the idea wouldn't be a bad idea. *wink*

Second reason why I love BlackBerry This is the highlight of the software’s prowess. Blend is a platform that enables access to emails, messages, files etc. from your Passport to a PC, Mac or a tablet. You just need a Blend platform for the respective OS - Windows or Mac, and you can easily access it with the help of Mobile network or Wi-Fi. Imagine you accessing files on different devices and editing them at the same time without any security threat, thanks to BlackBerry’s secured networks.

spring up your competition at odd hours, anyone that wants to win bad enough will have to have your blog on the go, so say you ask question by 2:14am , take first two correct entries .... that way, we get to keep a vigil on your blog, you get to be fair and this gets to be competitive

The third reason why I love BlackBerry OS 10. It looks nicer, performs faster and demands a lot of gestures and swiping to use. The center of attraction remains the Hub. Though many people have mocked it out-and-out, to us it makes a lot of sense to have all of our emails, Twitter/Facebook messages, and of course the WhatsApp chats in one place. Isn’t it? The icing on the cake - it features a new virtual assistant. winnikoko@gmail.com

4. 13MO OIS camera
Somehow, BlackBerry has always managed to get their camera just about right, and this is the case with the Passport. The 13MP rear camera is quite a treat to use, and should leave the closet photographer inside you quite intrigued. We were pretty happy with the clicks, especially the ones in low exposure.

However having used all 3 major brands specifically in naija I believe I can confidently say the BB remains the best for these 3 major reasons:

More efficient internet structure: BB provides access to an unlimited internet data plan and at the least it provides more internet data at a lower cost than any other phone brand.BB pioneered this structure

More efficient mail structure: BB provides the most robust and easy to use email structure, due to competiton bw google and yahoo, Yahoo mail is sometimes inefficient on andrioid phones. Also other phone brands require more settings for uncOmmon emails unlike BB. BB pioneered easy access to emails.

Most dynamic chat system. BBM redefined chatting on phone and created the platform for whatsapp to enter. At a point people were so used to BBM dat it became a phenomenon, people cud literally be sleeping and chattin on BBM. BBM pioneered so much chat innovations like; no login required, sending of pix n voice, etc
So the BB can be an only phone and you won't be missing out on anytin. But if you make an android or iphone an only phone u wud be missing out on the BBM as well as a very efficient and timely email structure.

I love how innovative “the guys” at Blackberry are with the different models of Blackberry phones they release every now and then. I love the BBM application, I love the unique QWERTY keypad, I love BB world with its various apps. In a nutshell, I love the way BlackBerry has transformed Social Networking especially for addicts all over the world. Even Android lovers cannot do without having BBM on their phones *winks*

My name is Kemi and I am a phone lover...i have had the privilege of using a few phones from blackberry to Android to Windows......My love for blackberry stems from the fact that most features that are unavailable on both the Android n Windows phones are all readily available on Blackberry phones.....Some instances to name a few is when I used my Nokia Lumia phone, the camera didn't have a flash n the most annoying which a blackberry never does is the fact that as a job seeker, I couldn't browse my CV directly from my Nokia phone to any Job application on the internet and this was very frustrating. A blackberry phone is always perfect for applying for a job online.keminext2u@yahoo.com

Uche is my name and I am currently using BB Curve. If I begin to describe all the benefits I derive from using my device; the whole of Linda Ikeji’s blog wont contain my write ups… lol.

Actually, Blackberry is outstanding as far as internet connection is concerned. I started using blackberry device in 2010, and ever since then, I don’t think I can EVER use any other phone apart from blackberry. I derive lots of benefits from using my lovely device.

Friends, if you are not on blackberry world, hmmmm… I pity you oo… You dey miss plenty plenty things wey other phone no fit offer u.

My internet connection is the bomb, I’m always online without any worry of running out of MB. The color display fantastic, my camera coupled with it’s geo tagging is awesome, talking about the battery life; my goodness, the battery last longer than expected.

Infact everything about my Blackberry is unique. If there is anything like Blackberry TV or radio, I will get one for myself… I guess I’ll have to take a pause here. ***Smiles***

The first BlackBerry phone I got made me fall in love with BlackBerry and I knw y'all would love to knw y..dis is because this phone was too strong it could fall a thousand times nd yet dr wouldn't be a scratch, not only that I also had the opportunity to download and watch movies online without any problems even without going to the cinema and it saved me a lot of money and nw I knw u would b wondering how I was able to download such movies without loosing my mb and money on recharge cards well if ur actually tinking of dis I would also gladly love to let u knw dat BlackBerry Is d cheapest subscription I knw u cn get its not only d cheapest it's fast has a lot of memory space,d subscription lasts longer nd also I get to interact wif my frnds nd every member of my family far nd wide. Not only dat tanks to BlackBerry I browsing my assignments online became easier without me having to go to the cyber cafe to waste time money nd energy, it also gave me the room to b able to video chat wif my loved ones without having to miss dem much. Lastly I knw dr are a lot of phones out there but the truth is dr is none better dan BlackBerry yes i knw some would say iPhones are d best but Wen u check on dem well u will find our dat even despite d fact dat they hv an iPhone u still see dem with BlackBerry nd dis is because dr is no oda phone dat can be as wonderful as BlackBerry. As an outgoing person who loves to see places and save the memory for posterity Blackberry meets my need totally. Blackberry phones have AMAZING picture quality. I am vain (covers face) and thanks to the 'beautify' feature of blackberry phones I have become a professional photoshopper and look my best in all my pictures.

Most important of all is that Blackberry phones are durable and do not crack when they fall. This is one important feature I do not take for granted when choosing a phone.

Hi Linda,

I am of the opinion that picking the winners for these phones should still be the criteria you clearly stated yesterday.

Though I know the process might be tedious, (kudos to you for the time and stress taken out for that) but it could be simplified. From my subtle review of some comments yesterday , it was obvious a huge number of them did not comply with what you required from participants. Such "comments" can be easily screened out and the others that comply , considered. Thus making the entire process transparent and objective.

Leaving the choice of winners to "your supposed frequent Libers" to nominate, could prove lop-sided and biased really. I feel you would even broaden your fan base if the chosen winners are first-timers.

Thank you

Right now am writing with BlackBerry 9320 curve 7, my BBM pin number is 2acf18bf .
I love BlackBerry because of the following:.
1. As an applicant it helped to send Email to potential employers.
2. It helped me to search for job opportunities by surfing net for helpful informations.
3. I used BBM to stay connected to my family and friends without any other extra cost.
4. As an employees BB is more of like a working tool for me, because it's easy to operate and has friendly application, such as Email for writing and send of reports, conversion application.
5. It has helped me in doing my research with respect to my job.
6. I have become paparazzi of a sort because of my which I can use to capture all important images to me and video as well.
7. Staying connected to social media to me is made affordable by BB subscription with their compressed data formation from Research In Motion in USA.
8. Traditional phone calling and receiving come with clarity.
9. Text massage comes with friendly application.
10. BB itself and its accessories has unequal durability which has given satisfaction for having one.
However, I need this BB passport for more fantastic experiences, I believed it come with since nothing is constant. Also, I will give others this so that goodwill can flow.

Blackberry, blackberry how many times did I call you?
Back when I was broke, you made me feel inferior to other people
But I’m completely grateful to you today because your hype made the following possible: I have a lot to say but I’ll tell 3 merits and demerits
MERITS
1. In order for me to get you, I became closer to my family members here and abroad because of the certainty that I was to be bought the phone by one of them.
2. You made me sometimes use you to write my essays instead of using my mac book, and funny enough I do better when I use you lol.
3. And lastly, you made communication easier because of the introduction of BBM.
DEMERITS
I. I have had experiences with the iPhone because of the screen touch but even with the black berry buttons I still embarrassing typos, making this kind off mistakes when chatting with babes is kind of awful lol.
2 trying to upgrade to the newer model makes me a physco , would appreciate it if you could take time in releasing newer models just like the PlayStation company
3 I am currently schooling at your place of birth (university of waterloo) but IPhone just keeps interfering because of your funny shapes and sizes but I know if I win this phone its going to be a piece that everyone will and must admire.
hope i win hehe. @chukeluebuka@yahoo.com

I THINK YESTERDAY'S METHOD IS BETTER. YOU CAN ALWAYS PICK FROM THE FIRST 200 COMMENTS. SOME PEOPLE READ LIB ALWAYS BUT RARELY COMMENT OR COMMENT AS ANONYMOUS. DOES THIS MEAN YOU DON'T LIKE THOSE PEOPLE? TELLING PEOPLE TO VOTE FOR OTHER PEOPLE WHEN THEY WANT THE PHONE FOR THEMSELVES WONT WORK EITHER. SO MY SUGGESTION: BACK TO YESTERDAY'S PLAN. Also BlackBerry gives us variety in styles unlike other phones with the same old block style(full qwerty- bold/curve, qwerty slider- torch9800/9810, full screen- z3/z10 etc. And before I forget, BlackBerry flexible and smooth multi-tasking is awesome, I cnn browse and answer messages at the same time.

Blackberry has this unique style, they are all special and unique in different ways /forms .. Its more like the phone that keeps on giving. There is always so much more to look forward to when the next version comes into the market. When it finally arrives I'm never dissapointed and blackberry passport has been able to attest to that fact. I'm a believer and I always will.. Go RIM, GO Blackberry!!! My email is moniqhowells@gmail.com
