Show some decorum- PDP Chairman tells young Nigerians on Twitter

Lol. You know how on Twitter anybody can abuse anybody? Well, PDP chairman Adamu Muazu doesn't think it's nice. After a few people abused him on Twitter today, he asked for some decorum. See more tweets after the cut...

he has not seen anything, who knows maybe he is even a decent man but as long as he is on the team and clique of people that allow some touts with guns who watch too much action film called BH just kill, maim and intimidate innocent Nigerians including harmless women and kids, and he is doing nothing about it or continue to kiss the ass of the main decision makers by supporting them, we will continue to insult him. nonsense

Yea we'll keep showing decorum while you continue stealing, turning the country upside down, and telling me that drunkard Jona is the best this country has to offer. Mumu!

I agree. Being a politician does not make anyone less human nor does it justify speaking less of such one. Knowing that no one sees your facial expressions as to determine whether your write up is insulting, you must learn the art of expressing yourselves via text. Ogukwa n ka oha m na onu!

Asoge Olukemi said...

Well said sir. However the reason we cannot accord decorum is because your generation has lied to us, stolen from us, fuck some of us despite the fact they are father, grandfather, elder and leaders. Stop blaming our generation for lack of morals and values blame for killing values before we were even born..

Fact is the social media is a faceless medium! Forget the avatars and all, anyone can be anything and can do whatever! That's why a lot people do whatever and get away with it! We transfer aggressions and feelings we would have readily kept bottled up inside physical out on the causes of said aggression or simply transfer it!

Temmy said...

Oga Muazu, u are rite we shd learn to communicate feelings without insults, dt wud happen whn u and ur fellow politicians learn to lead without stealing, whn all d billions of dollars are correctly appropriated and monitored(because we are now bigger thieves than u are, once the opportunity presents itself, we learnt from the best). We are richer dn most of dz countries we run to,but we feel we have to because there are better opportunities there. Oga let dz become part of our culture dt u respect, den u can ask us to follow suit.

decorum is he mad, does he know how angry the nigerian youth is. You thieves are there amassing wealth that your kids are showing off while the ordinary youth you s much demand respect from has lost his history and maybe his future through PDP's recklessness. In case you read this blog everyday and don't know what is coming, Boko Haram is coming and there's nothing the Nigerian Government is doing about. Borno, Adamawa, Yobe, Gombe, Bauchi and Plateau. that's the plan.

And you think we are safe, please think again? if we don't hold these people accountable we will be another south sudan in a few years.

Respect is earned. This mentality in Nigeria and the African culture by extension, of "Children only need to be seen and not heard" is what will continue to kill us. Alhaji Muazu, you may be as pristine as snow, but you belong to a group that has continuously raped and retarded the growth of our nation. Fortunately or unfortunately social media is the only platform we the youth can express our frustrations. You people should democracy, democracy, freedom of speech blah blah blah...we express our rights in public, you send your useless mopos and lily-livered army to intimidate us! So sir, as much as I'm an advocate for respect of ALL human beings, till you lot get your 'ish together, deal with the consequences and stop pulling the "age/elder" card!

I think I agree with him, u don't have to insult anybody to drive home ur point or even profess a solution. As terrible as dis pple maybe, they're not our mates, and they have kids too. I don't think anyone would like his father/mother to be insulted like dat by youngsters. Most importantly, like he said, we're Africans, we're mannered.

Anonymous said...

The point is, what the man is saying is not wrong. Culturally, he is in order. Unfortunately, time-wise, and medium wise he is completely deluded.

He fails to realize that being on Twitter means that he has launched himself into the great big wide world out there, far beyond the reach of his enclave of political power or his immediate household. He does not realize that many people on Twitter are not culturally sensitive to what he is saying. They will call him by his first name and dare him to deny his won identity. They're no respecter of titles or positions. And then he is a politician, which is a natural magnet for abuse.

The man needs a reality check. Behind the anonymity of a computer, many disenfranchised netizens seize the powers that have been denied them and make known their real feelings. And that's a very painful reality that most politicians must face when they join 21st century Social Media. It is more brutal than an opponent.

The same culture that teaches us to reward mediocrity, same culture that teaches us that 16 is greater than 19, culture that teaches us you can preach zoning in Akwa Ibom while fostering Wike on Rivers state, same culture that says NNPC should be a conduit pipe through which our commonwealth is stolen, Alhaji Muazu is it the same culture that says GEJ should be rewarded for his ineptitude and utter cluelessness?
Alhaji, if you can swear with Sango (forget Allah and the God of the bible, those are patient) that it is the same culture you are referring to,then I will listen to you.
Until then, go and shove decorum up your hairy ass and support mediocrity in peace.

Oga chairman, I think the politicians need this advice more than the youth. Respect our votes, right to good road, stable electricity, good education and health care service, and security of lives and properties and see whether youths will not reciprocate. The youths response is a reflection of who are leaders are.

Gabriel Ohiomah said...

he is right to some extent... vote and defend your vote.. The youth right now likes putting blame on the past generation for their failure. Arise Nigeria youth.. Go to your ward.. mobilize people to vote. Don't vote for party rather vote for candidate.. no better political party at the moment they are all same.. but there is a better candidate.. use ur power for we shall cry for another 4 years if we fail this time.. please don't vote for any party but vote for the candidate.... we cant change Nigeria with our mouth or on tweeter..

Even in countries where there are good roads, where the electricity they use in one airport.g heathrow airport- uses about 4000mw, is what nigeria as a country of 170 million is struggling to share) where health, transportation, education....are no issues, they still talk to their leaders harshly when needed. You guys used 16billion dollars to reduce electricity from 4000mw to 2600mw. U guys capitalize on the level of illiteracy you have kept us to milk the nation dry because most people don't know numbers. if Nigerians are aware that this 16billion dollars is same as giving one million, six hundred thousand families(1,600,000 families) 1.6million naira each to start business.(using 160naira to a dollar), then we will know that we have been finished long time ago and will be all out with placards asking for recolonization. you are the leader of the number one problem in Nigeria which is corruption, number two - corruption, number three - corruption........someone said akwa ibom new stadium was built with 16billion naira, that means the money spent in the last 12 years on electricity alone will build more that 250 of the stadium. meaning we can have 10 akwa ibom stadium in each of the 36 states of the federation. that's how colossal the corruption is. this is just to say a few of the corruption in one sector.

Dear Alhaji Mauzu, I respect you as a strategist and game changer, but you and your colleagues must know that Nigerians are getting tired of the whole mess in the country called leadership. How can one explain that 2000+ has a budget of N150b and still ask for more at any slightest opportunity while States with population of over 4m has lower budget than NASS. Both APC and PDP leaders none desire the elderly respect you are canvassing for from Nigerians because our elders have failed us.
