Dr. Ameyo died this afternoon Tuesday August 19th at the isolation unit of the Mainland Hospital in Lagos where she'd been quarantined. She died a hero because she was the doctor who refused to let Patrick Sawyer, the man who brought the Ebola virus to Nigeria, leave the First Consultant Hospital in Obalende, Lagos, when he attempted to leave. She saved many lives by doing this. Her death is so heartbreaking.
She's survived by a son and her husband. May her beautiful soul rest in peace...Amen.

I have so much to say on the death of this woman, first and fore most we have now lost a senior consultant.Nigeria is a country that needs all its learned and well schooled medical personnel because we don't even have enough. We have just lost one and my heart is heavy, she was a wife, mother to a son,a sister, an aunt, a cousin, colleague, friend,brethren and a citizen. Her family oh her family where will they begin from, this is just too heavy, damn too heavy.
As for the minister of health, I will give him 2% for his mismanaging a situation which would have been prevented, there is a word called proactive and it seems a good number of our so called public servants don't know what it is, the people that they have now mounted at the airports wearing gloves, face masks brandishing electronic thermometers should have been at those posts long before Patrick Sawyer set foot in this country.
