AY’s '30 Days In Atlanta' gets 10 nominations in America

Comedian AY’s debut feature movie ‘30 Days in Atlanta’ which has been making serious media buzz in recent times and creating serious expectations for fans of the AY Brand and movie lovers across the world, has emerged as the movie with one of the highest nominations at the 3rd annual Golden Icons Academic Awards (GIAMA) in Houston, Texas USA.

For AY who is one of Nigerians top comedians and a trained Theatre Arts graduate from Delta State University, '30 Days In Atlanta' is a dream come through. Speaking on the development, a visibly pleased Ay said the nominations was a celebration of the great team that worked with him on the project because it is an affirmation to efforts put into the production of the movie by all involved.
“I am so happy that the sleepless nights and days of shooting the movie in Nigeria and Atlanta is beginning to pay off. The main idea was to recreate the Akpos Character on The AY Show's, ‘Who Wants To Be A Billionaire Segment’ and to also establish the AY brand as an actor and a producer in the movie industry”.
The movie which is in the comedy genre chronicles the hilarious adventures of two cousins from Nigeria who are given a 30-day holiday package to Atlanta. Packed with romance, drama and a lot of laughs, 30 Days in Atlanta has been described as a perfect blend of Nollywood, Ghollywood and Hollywood’s finest thespians.

The prestigious GIAMA awards which is fondly described by those in the movie industry as the Africa Oscars is an annual Award ceremony designed to celebrate the very best of African entertainment and rich culture through Filmography. The star-studded event is billed for October 25, at The Stafford Centre in Houston Texas.

Meanwhile AY also got an invitation from President Jonathan to the Aso Rock Presidential Villa for the screening of Omoni Oboli’s movie, Being Mrs Elliot, which took place last Thursday.

The movie which has earned AY one local and two International Award Nominations was screened in Abuja at the Presidential Banquet Hall.. The screening which lasted for about an hour and forty five minutes was witnessed and commended by President Goodluck Jonathan, The Vice President, Honourable Ministers, Senators, Governor Mimiko of Ondo State, Fayose (Governor elect) Ekiti State, Ben Murray Bruce, Nollywood practitioners and other notable guests that were invited by the president.
'Being Mrs Elliot' which was directed by Omoni Oboli features ‎notable stars such as Majid Michel, Lepacious Bose,Chika Chukwu, Uru Eke, Seun Akindele, Bishop Ime Umoh and Omoni Oboli herself, revealed the other side of AY as a trained Thespian. The movie is scheduled to be released in September 2014.

YAH, YOU ALL HAVE GONE TO A COUNTRY WHERE ORDERLINESS IS THE ORDER OF THE DAY TO SHOOT YOUR MOVIE AND GETTING NOMINATIONS..... BACK HOME IN NAIJA, WHAT EFFORTS ARE YOU SO CALLED CELEBRITES MAKING TO STABILIZE THE POLITY AND THE ECONOMY? AM ALMOST SURE YOU GUYS DO NOT EVEN PAY YOUR INCOME TAXES NOR LEND YOUR VOICES TOWARDS PEACE AND STABILITY. WHEN LAST HAVE YOU ALL ORGANISED A PEACE CONCERT TO RAISE FUNDING AND AWARENESS FOR THE LESS PREVILAGED? NO .... ALL YOU DO BACK HOME IS RUNNING AFTER POLITICIANS FOR MONEY.... What a shame!

Wow it still surprises me that Lynn Whitfield chose to star in this movie.
