Who agrees with this?

The popular televangelist asked the public to donate $65million to him so he could buy a private jet but quickly ended the fund raising following public uproar. Read here. This guy thinks if it were a Nigerian pastor, he would not have stopped. Who agrees with him?

Obviously in Naija, pastors are more concerned about their personal enrichment than the public view of them

Of course, he would not have, the Levites are dapper than the members of their congregation these days, guess they aren't interested in storing their treasure and reaping their reward in heaven anymore.

I agree with him walahi....in Nigeria, people worship their so called men of God and not God himself.... Dat private jet na small thing 4 naija na, na there you go see people sell their land sef bcoz dey pastor go don say "do something dat will annoy God 2 bless you or open heavens and pour blessings on you" God help us!

Most Nigerian pastors are only after what they ll get nothing more, they are just like out politicians.

Unknown said...

Yes I agree, most nigerians re gullible, the pastor would even get 2 jets within a year if I'm not exaggerating.

Unknown said...

He would have been stopped if he announced it publicly like this
But if it is within his church members
They would have done it
Without any uproar

As much as what the Pastor did is nothing strange for watchers of world events like us who has seen religon being massively commercialized to d detriment of the flocks who they fleece off der penny, shillings and kobo, this ogas observation is still very on point because tbh a naija pastor fr nor send. Is mind n Heart wld v bin set towards accruing at least 60 of dt 65 million before e fr stop. At least d rest can be completed thru a dollar sunday of offerings. N Linda take note fr emphasis sake that historically religion has always being known to fleece der flock. After d council of Nicea in over 500CE when emperor Constantine succeeded in politicixing christianity and d only bishop who disagreed with der scheming was excommunicated, religion esp.xtianity became corrupted. From d Vatican and other medieval churches fleecing Der flock thru various schemings to modern day pentecostalism were my God is nt a poor God is d common cliche.... Religion missed d mark. So y d suprise....

Very sad situation of poverty driven ignorance.

I confirm totally. In our country we would sow generously into the “man of God’s” life not minding that we have mountainous bills to pay. These self acclaimed men should know that even the disciples of Christ worked for a living not just depending on others to feed, clothe and house them and their families.

mapindi said...

A Nigerian pastor would not even make it public... they are well grounded in the art of manipulation... u go just hear say dem don buy am. #lobatan..

Gbam! no lie at all!

Very correct - we give excuses for everything; we can give excuse why a pastor should enrich themselves and the followers in abject poverty, excuses why politicians should steal our money (we give excuses more than every other country in the world, SO NO NEED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITIES).

#smh - Fr.Mbaka also denied that Patience Jonathan gave him any money when she visited his church. He said although President Jonathan dropped money for him through Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, he left the money with Ekweremadu and his wife. He also said that Patience Jonathan’s offering to the church was also rejected.

@Theophilus, try and do your investigation very well before you post anything online. Always have your facts. Are you telling us that Pastor Creflo Dollar does not have a private jet? Do your investigation and answer this question. Don't always try to act the saint. Bcos if God blesses you with wealth, you will see every reason to own one with all justification. so leave the Ministers of God alone. God is the judge of all but definitely not you.

In Nigeria he would not need a website. He will simply announce that the church needs the Jet and he needs 10 people to donate the funds. There will be a mad scramble from looters of the treasury and some dubious people looking to buy Gods favour who will contribute double the amount. The excess will then be used to start a university and the press will call the pastor wealthy.

Very true. Nigerians are so stupid and gullible when it comes to #churchtins. And I am sure many Nigerian pastors have done something similar

That's the simple truth. Nigerian pastor will not even go online to beg he'll just tell his church members "God said I should buy the latest jet for him and he's gonna multiply anything u give by 100" and the gullible will start rushing to give their life savings.

Linda swallow my comment o again

I strongly reserve the right to believe that if an international poll is conducted today to know which Pastors are EXPERT in fleecing their Sheep, y' all can bet ur ass that Nigerian Pastors will be among the first 32.
PATHETIC at how they have degraded Christendom with their ignoble and infamous penchant for living Lavish.

@egbojalaughter said...

I also think if he were in Nigeria, nobody would have said 'pim'. People would say God is blessing his ministry to the 'permanent site'. Lol

Juleslouis said...

Haha. If it were in Naija he won't neccessarily say its for a private jet but he'll ensure he gets d money through tithes and forceful seed sowing.

Unknown said...

I completely agree. I don't understand why Nigerians suffer in silence and prefer to join those who are doing the wrong things instead of joining forces with the right people to do the right thing. Completely ridiculous and then we wonder why we're in the situation that we are in now. It starts with us and not the corrupt-minded people who only care for their own stomachs.

The likes of u pastor will come to us house and rape ur two year old, u will blame the toddler n ever beat her half to death for seducing the man of rod.
O yea, I have seen it.

Anonymous said...

Do we even have the liver to speak against such exploitation? Na today? All these men of God with private jets was it not through offering/tithe and other donations them buy am? If we dare say pim, they will accuse us of being haters, agents of the devil trying to stop the gospel from spreading but it is well.

Anonymous said...

It is true, but sad. Nigeria has began to put their faith in men of God, not God himself.
