Some dumb ass will think this is success this is what they do when viewership is flagging and want Nigerians to watch & buy their movies. In UK they never used to advertise on Nigerian movie channels until there was economic meltdown in 2010. Then they went hot on advertising everything on the African channels disturbing us watching our movies trying to make us buy their products. During good times they ignore the African market segment. Here in the West we know them they wont use us. Some people think what Oyibos approve off is achievement. Learn from Chimamanda she told of the Gurdian UK

Really? Whenever the West make these subtle gestures they are up to something.

Anonymous said...

Well said. These titles are already hugely successful in their own right. It's no mean feat that they were mentioned.

Anonymous said...

I agree

I hope she wont sue this people too

I feel so sad that there are Africans so naïve they think the West send them gestures. They hate the black diasporans & kill them daily in America & you think a Nigerian is important to them. My dear they see you as monkey you should come and live abroad and your fantasies will leave your head fast. To 80% of whites you are a monkey.

Dis is great and nice. Thumbs up to him and more power to his elbows.

Anon 10:27. Whc ever way u view it,its a success. Is she d only Nigerian or African writer? Are Nigerians or Africans d only set of foreigners in America or uk? D fact dt her work is noticed adds a feather to her cap biko. Its like saying LIB is well known and as such it adds nothing if Gej or CNN now makes reference to it. I can almost bet u are a man, d type who finds it difficult to applaud women whn due.

Linda, are you going to link that New York Times article from this week about Nigerian and Nigerian Americans excelling at sports before it's too old?

Anonymous said...

I think the headline for this article should have started with CHINUA ACHEBE'S BOOK FEATURES ON ANIMATION, and not chimamanda. She could have come as a follow up.

Nice ohhh.but knowing the Simpsons and their ability of making fun of people and things on their show. Hope she was portrayed in a good light
