See inside my new luxury Banana Island, Ikoyi home..:-) (photos)

I'm sure most of you have heard by now - that I recently bought a house...:-). Of course I had to bring it here and share my joy with you all...my amazing LIB family. God first and you guys second made it possible. So, I bought a two-storey luxury house in the exclusive Banana Island area of Ikoyi...and to be honest, I still can't believe it. It's everything I prayed my house would be. That's me standing in front of my house...:-). #ProudSelfMadeWoman...:-)

The house is on 3 floors consisting of 6 en-suite bedrooms, a master suite with a separate walk-in      closet/dressing room and a massive bathroom suite, 2 living rooms, media room, cinema room, gym room, laundry room, a fully fitted kitchen, with a large pantry. Two room boys-quarters, a gatehouse, swimming pool, waterfall wall, changing room, cabana, and amazing water-view. Absolutely my dream home. Dreams do come true, you know! Click read more to see photos of the house...

My house, my mum and my car...:-)

The compound

Sitting room

It's a glass house so you can see everything that's happening outside...:-)
Still the sitting room

The pool area

Happy woman. Had to wear my Selfmade Tee...:-)
The lawn - working on it to make it more lovely

Other side of the building...
They are cleaning the pool. Who wants to come teach me how to swim? :-)

And the master suite... my bedroom. I've never seen anything like it in real life...lol. It's so big, I don't even know how to decorate it...

Walking in my bedroom
Still my bedroom. Has a lounge area...lol. Choi!

And my walk-in closet...my bags and shoes are so happy! :-)

I'm having them add some things so work is on going there

And the most grand part of the house is my luxury bathroom...it has a Jacuzzi, bathtub and shower...

Me in my bathroom! Can't believe this is my life now...
The view from my Jacuzzi

My Penthouse Terrace
My parents looking around in amazement...lol. My mum couldn't believe this is her new home...lol

The kitchen...my mum's favourite part of the house

Living in the house with my family. When I marry, I will move out! *sad face*..lol

The house is spectacular at night...

Now to all the young girls looking at these photos, please read below..

My name is Linda Ikeji. I'm a blogger. I'm 35 years old and I have never...never ever in my life slept with a man for money. Not only have I never done it, I have never even considered it...and here I am with a house that cost me over half a billion naira.

Listen, you are beautiful and you are stronger than you know. There's absolutely nothing you can't achieve if you set your mind to it, put your heart and soul into it.
Up until five years ago, I was a struggling entrepreneur. I can't tell you how many offices in this Lagos I sat in for hours waiting to see people who could support my business...but most times, I never passed the reception area. But I never gave up and I never stopped believing and here I am today.

You too can be this..you can be better than this. No dream is too big, no dream is too small, no mountain is too high...it's all in your mind. It's all up to you. If you believe in you, in your God who is guiding you, then the sky is your starting point.

Please stop waiting around for a man to give to you...to put food on your table and put clothes on your back. I promise you, you can do it for yourself. Start thinking big, believe in yourself, be creative and start working. Realize that your dreams are valid...and nobody will make your dreams come true except you. Find what you are good at. Find something that you are passionate about. Work hard at it. Be consistent. Be patient. Start young. Even if you're not young, it's never too late!

I have been hustling since I left secondary school..started modeling before I entered university in 1998. Was running a modeling agency even while I was a student and made it a full time business after I left university. I never doubted that I would succeed one day, because I was determined. And please do not think this happened over night. I've been blogging since 2006...November this year will make it exactly 9 years. God, consistency and hard work brought me here today.

Unfortunately, a lot of our young girls aren't patient and some are lazy, they want it quick and fast but it doesn't work like that. Success takes time - takes hard work - takes passion - takes consistency - but more than anything else, it takes the Grace of God.

I was a 30 year old broke woman and on my birthday, a very sad and depressed me turned to God and begged him. I told Him you promised me, when will You fulfill Your promise? Am I not Your child? Have I not lived according to Your teachings? When will You bless me? Please God help me...and with tears in my eyes, I begged Him. I cried and I begged and I begged and I begged. A few months later my life changed. Never underestimate God's love for you and the power of prayer.

And never stop working. Listen, I make enough money to hire so many people to work on this blog while I go do other things and enjoy myself...but I don't do that. I'm up while some of you are sleeping, and already blogging before some of you wake up. I don't take this for granted. I know to stay on top, I have to constantly work and nobody will be as dedicated as I am because this is not their own thing. It's mine and I have to keep feeding it. So I'm constantly here!

Young ladies, I promise you...you too can do this. You don't need to spread your legs for any bladdy man - because of how much? N200k? That's how much my shoes cost - so why should you give up your body for that? Your sacred body? God's temple? N200k that you can make in a week or even in a day if you pursue your dreams and still have your dignity intact? You think people don't see that you're messing around with all dem old married men and talking about it? Think ladies, think! When next a man propositions you...tell him to get lost, that you will get yours yourself! Abi, aren't you a woman? You know what they say about women? "A woman is like a tea bag, you never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water.". You are so strong, you don't even know!

Also, if you want God to bless you, you have to have a clean heart. All these backbiting, hating on others, trying to bring people down with hateful words/actions etc - God doesn't like ugly. He has over 6 billion people to look after and you think he will pay extra attention to you if your heart is ugly? Wish people well, help people when you can. Be good to others. But more than anything else be good to yourself. Believe in yourself. It's very easy to give in to feelings of self-doubt and back down when things get tough, but you have to know that God will not give you anything you can't handle.

I swear to you, you are underestimating yourself. If you know the power that you have inside. If you know the things that you are capable of. If you know how far you can go...how high you can reach but you are holding yourself back because you're afraid of failing, because you don't think you have it in you. If only you know that you're stronger than you think. You are so powerful, you don't even know it. I'm not more special than you are. I don't have two heads. We serve the same God. Why can't you succeed? Think ladies, think.

Like Barack Obama's sister said, poverty is not an excuse! I used to sell/market beer at Sheraton hotel, Lagos when I was in university for N1,000 a day. I once lived on 'puff puff' and garri for weeks in UNILAG and I was supposedly a top model but nobody knew what I was going through.

Trust me, I knew poverty. Did you know I lived in Idi-oro, Mushin for 15 years? Up until when I was 25? Did you live in Mushin? Eh, so what's your excuse? I can't even say some things here for my family's privacy but here I am today because I never doubted myself and I never allowed all the doubters to distract me. I was focused. I was determined. I worked hard and I knew the God I served won't let me down. The road was long, sometimes very frustrating and painful but look at me now. God did it because he saw that I was willing!
"Because I am a woman, I must make unusual efforts to succeed. If I fail, no one will say, “She doesn’t have what it takes.” They will say, “Women don’t have what it takes.”
Please believe in yourself and watch God use you to set as an example for others.

May all your dreams come true!

Kisses.

Oh by the way (addressing the argument I read online this weekend) I don't do anything else. I blog from 4am till midnight, where do I have time to do anything else? When God wants to bless you, He will bless you...even if you're selling toothpick.

Cheers!

God bless you Bae. You have said it all. Exactly the Gospel i have been preaching!! I wonder why ladies believe they can't make it on their own!!! You are an inspiration gal! You don't need to say too much!! When someone is hardworking and God want to Bless the person, even people close to you will find it hard to believe! I have met your sis before (Laura). She was my sis room mate in lag.. and have heard a lil about you... i even wanted to attend your sis dancing school then... lol! Lot of things going on in my life then.. a young gal who wanted to be a professional dancing and also a super model.... Everyone i talk to about getting a decent modelling job, i noticed the general term was you have to sleep with someone to get in... That was crass to me so i dropped it! But i didn't stop there! I have never given up on myself! I know one day, I will also write a motivational speech like this to help fraustrated women out there... Please ignore people's criticism....... You just started and am sure even the MOON is not your Limit! God bless You babe You just woke me up.!!!

Hope I can come and stay for a while...hmmm just kidding...God bless.

Congratulations, but you stupid, stupid girl!!!! Did you have to put in pictures of the interior of your house? Now you have provided kidnappers with a map of the interior of your house, told them how much it cost and confirmed that you are definitely worth kidnapping and it is clear you do not have armed security. When they say pride comes before a fall, this is a clear example of it. I know it was hard not to blow your trumpet and push your achievements in the face of those who have been laughing at you that you are not married, but you have just done a really daft thing.
Did you think other people with multi million Naira houses who do not publish pictures of the interior are stupid? It is for security's sake. For your own good, I would advice you to get them to put in a secret passage or hidden room somewhere in your house so that if you are targeted you can hide safely.

I checked out every single picture with amazement, I'm so lost for words now cos your story has inspired me a lot. Your home isn't even as beautiful as your heart, you did not leave us with pictures that make us think and get a bit jealous like other celebrities do but you gave us the words that'll make me believe that I can achieve even greater thimgs. Thank you so much for this awesome post. I pray that with God on my side I will also share my beautiful story of grass to grace with the world. I love your house but I love you more. Waiting to see the house warming pictures!!!!!!!! Cheers babes!

So happy for u bae

Unknown said...

So happy for you Linda, this is very inspirational, we need more young ladies like you in this country. Every girl is endowed with the ability and capability to succeed, just look inside of you and discover those God given talents and explore them. Do not limit yourself because you want to lay low so you can get a husband, any man who is intimidated by a woman's success is not worthy enough to be called a man how much more a husband. Just do your thing and leave the rest to God. Congratulations once again Linda and may the Lord continue to uplift you and also continue to use you as a blessing to others.

When i read about people's comment about you not married at this age, i smile to myself and say, She knows what's best for her. Indeed you are a trailblazer and i know when your husband comes you will have an heaven on earth married regardless of what people say or think. I may not know you too well, but i feel deep down in my spirit that you have a good heart. You have indeed handle people's wrong thought and comment about you, which shows strength and character. Abeg fire on... God is your muscle. Shalom

Well congrats ada Eziama Obire I enjoy reading your blogs. Remain blessed my sister.

I am short of words 'I am in awe. This has to be the harvest of many years of hardwork ,silent tears and ardent prayers.I am a young 23 year old girl but this piece caught me.i can do everything and be anything I want to if I truly believe.sometimes God removes those necessities we think we need just to take us far beyond our imagination after which he just drops those necessities on a platter when we least expect it.you earned it linda congrats!

She is an inspiration to today's woman especially in our society where women are despised for being independent. Ordinary buying a car is like an omen , we tend to hide the blessings of God so that people will not say this or that even when you are seen as a working class not a prostitute. Even having a good job to show for scares people away with whatever impression they develop in their head. Most parents don't even help matters. This happens big time to single girls. Just reading Linda's story is enough inspiration for me, it will only take a man who knows his onions to make her his wife and I believe what she has or will have does not make short a wife. She is blessed and I tap into her blessings. I will get there. Amen

Unknown said...

Congrats Linda. Even I bear witness to your testimony - we were both registered with Modela years back. So your testimonies are all true. Thanks for sharing it. You can't imagine how many. Lives you have reset on the right course with this Divine testimony. I tap into your anointing and grace in Jesus name. Remain bless. And, your husband cometh quickly in Jesus name, to perfectly complete you. David.

The best thing i have read and come across since i started reading your blog Linda.
I am so proud of you, this is the reason i say when a woman stands up for her dignity, self respect and rights, she becomes a stone, completely overlooking men and their useless money that will come with conditions if not your life.
If a man can work hard to buy a cruise ship or even a vessel please why can't women?
Bottomline is hardwork pays,it's no magic and ladies there's no shortcut to this and again save up, don't spend carelessly on things that doesnt matter, LINDA you didn't advice on that part oh.
Finally Linda now be careful and open your eyes because very soon you go see love proposals from men as if them been sabi you when you been dey suffer. SMH
I trust you sha.
God bless you even more dear, the next house is in the USA and the UK.
All the best.

For sure a great example for many- I am sure not only for Nigerian girls (and guys) to emulate but kinda world class example. Good job Linda.

I continually pray that many more Linda Ikeji-like people will emerge in our nation. Especially those that have been labouring hard...that it will also start to pay off. Would be nice to continually have models for people around that can help people direct their efforts towards long term goals while focussing on their strength.

We need this in Nigeria and this is part of the reasons I chose to move back home from Canada to help make a change in my father's land, no matter how little.

It's also why I created Launchadream.com. May be we can do some work together in the future, Linda.

Once again, good job and enjoy your new home.

Everybody here said it all. It's really a blessing from God and a result of hardwork and determination. I believe many people have been in a situation like yours in time past but couldn't bear the pains along the path. The code is; Work hard and NEVER relent. Many Pple have swayed off in the mission to be successful because they felt nature cheated on them. I'm really happy for you and you actually motivated me with this. Well, I'm a teenager who just gained admission to university. I really want to make the best out of any thing I find myself doing starting from now till I suceed. And to my co commentators, you all have a chance to succeed. No matter how little you think what you're doing is.

You should have gotten something less. Maybe 200m house and probably built a home for the homeless. I think that house is too big for one family. You will sleep in just a corner in that hall you call your room. Not fair knowing we have so many without a corner to rest. Linda I think this is selfish of you.

This is one of the most inspirational messages that I've ever got. It's my birthday today. Turning 24, I said this Linda's prayer this morning without knowing that God will somehow bring me to see someone that said the same prayer some years ago so that I can see what a wonderful God He is and to never give up. Thanks alot Linda for this amazing piece. Congratulations and remain blessed.

I respect Linda a lot.. This is what a friend wrote about here newest acquisition..
"Since yesterday a derogatory question seems to be making waves on Radio & social media. "Who will marry Linda Ikeji?". Linda is beautiful, educated intelligent, sophisticated & rich. I agree that with her newly acquired N500m house in Banana Island, some chicken hearted guys will be intimidated. But in this age brooding with desperate & ambitious young men running away from prospective wives who will be a financial burden, the right question should actually be: "Who won't marry Linda Ikeji?". Why do the world always attempt to keep the female specie subservient & prevents them from achieving their full God-ordained destiny? Marriage. Marriage. Marriage. What's the big deal? Why has this beautiful design of God sundenly become a tool for intimidating & oppresing women? Single ladies won't buy their desired car with their hard earned money because of fear of frightening away potential husbands. Some can't even live in their personal houses because of marriage. Beats me. The lilly livered suitors will scamper. But the men who really deserve successful ladies will have them as wives. Who says all men are afraid to marry ladies who are richer or more successful than them? How many single ladies can trace their wealth to sleeping around? How much money do men even give their mistress? Who will marry Linda Ikeji? I will! ...(A reflection of an unconventional mind)" ~Obande Agbese

Beautiful home but i think you must learn to be more discreet. Do people really need to know about your material possessions? I don't think so but thats only my opinion.

Congratulations Linda on your success & your beautiful Banana Island home. However, a word of caution: Often times many people these days splash news of their success on social media, thereby inviting comments from members of the public. And when the comments come, they enjoy and revel in them. Unfortunately, because life itself is transient, when there is a tilt in such people's balance and the same members of the public make comments, those people get upset and claim 'privacy'. They question the rights of the same members of the public to comment on their 'private' life. I have followed your progress and how you have, understandably, invited the whole world into your life, shifting it from the 'private' to the 'non-private'. But be careful and be ready and accepting too of your implied contract with social media public when the comments about your life become unflattering for whatever reason. More success and blessings to you.

Ooh dear this brought tears to my eyes. First time commenting on your blog,am an avid reader..but that is just about it. You really did send out a strong and powerful message here, and it's not even in the house pictures, but in the words... God bless you for sharing your story,I screen grabbed the parts that hit me hard, and hope to take it and run with it. Am 25,married with 2 kids and a copper, but it sucks so bad to b totally dependent on my husband. Lesson Learned - Am the only one standing between me and my Success Story. 2) And my Journey to success begins with my Knees on the Ground and then my Hardwork and Commitment. Thanks!!!
