Photos: Meet the youngest Minister Nigeria has ever had

Lawyer, politician and diplomat Matthew Tawo Mbu, from Okundu in Cross River State was appointed Federal Minister for Labour at age 23 in 1953. He remains Nigeria's youngest Minister till date. He was also Minister of Foreign Affairs and former High Commissioner to the UK. He was born in November 1929 and died in February 2012. You can read more about him here

Okuni is in Ikom not Yakurr Mr. Man. And for the the records,the man is from Ogoja in CRS,not Ikom nor Yakurr.

Okuni is in Ikom LGA. Okunde (where M T Mbu comes from) is in Boki LGA. @Gbagun take note.

M. T. Mbu was a gentleman's gentleman and a statesman.

He was one of the golden generation of true nation-builders who were eventually betrayed by the military and the venal politicians who came to dominate the country.
