Announcing this yesterda while briefing
newsmen at the state secretariat in Alausa, the state commissioner for
health, Dr Jide Idris said the gesture is not in any way a compensation
for all they lost during the crisis but it is a goodwill token from the
state government to get back their economic livelihood
"Having addressed the human angle in containing the outbreak, there is now the need to address the economic consequences. Under consideration are the following: Support to the affected persons including those alive and N50million lump sum as business support gesture to the First Consultant Medical Centre. This is with view to getting the people/businesses back on their feet and for businesses to re-secure patronage of their customers. It needs clearly be stated that this is not an attempt at compensation but a gesture of goodwill on the part of government.” he said

Fashola has always been a visionary leader. Nigeria sure needs more leaders like him.
Very nice move Lagos State, First Consultant deserves such donation.
Fashola should be commended for his efforts towards the issue. FG should learn from this. Nice one
Honestly, is this necessary? SO many other businesses suffer for many things as well in this country. Why were they not given grants?
Nice one
Pls first consultant this money shud go to the family of those dt died
Expecially nurse justina
Wow. We'll done Lagos state, it surely will cushion the economic impact suffered by First Consultant.
This is good news...God bless Lagos state govt...but not only lagos state govt...oga Jona should also do something haba...

Beautiful. If Fashola could become the next President of Nigeria........
This is proof that Africans are capable of running & maintaining their Infrastructure, keep up the good work Lagos State Government. Eko oni baje o.

Wow! They deserve it $ more.
Thank you the Government of Lagos State for this kind gesture. It is a welcome development and business booster.
Eko o ni baje!!!
Good
BORN TO SHINE!!!
Good one there @lagos sate government.
Government who has the people at heart.
A most commendable gesture on the part of LASG. However, the should please to a step further by honouring the name of Late Dr Adedevoh, as well as the 3 other health workers who lost their lives at First Consultants.
fashola may God bless u immensely often times when i look at all your antecedents am really proud and thank God for someone like u. u give youth like us hope .. the only problem left is job creation for the youth which the federal Govt has failed to tackle i hope lagos state can still empower and make the dreams of youths like us a reality.. u are my future president whenever u decide to contest.
Goood
Afolabi Tosyne's blog
very kind of of the Governor. good man
I can imagine that hospital a grave yard in avoidance of Ebola.. This ll repose confidence to the outside world... FASHOLA FOR VICE PRESIDENT!!!!!!!!!
would like to give a special award to some1 deserving of it,for his comments as regards dis issue..'the award for biggest fool of the day goes to UCHE EMMA'..U re greatly stupid
@uche,my thought exactly....
Gbam!
Fashola government is a definition of democracy. Well done!
Scholes
Nigeria needs more leaders like Fashola.I wish dis man cud serve Lagos State forever
Well done BRF!
Inasmuch as I commend all Fashola is doing, I really can't give him much praises as he's totally ignored our roads in ikorodu. For christs sake, I fell inside water yesterday while trying to cross to the other side of the road. It wasn't funny at all. We are paying tax for Christ's sake, if they won't use the tax to give us light, they can as well use it to work our roads
Well done BRF!
May God bless the governor for even thinking to help the hospital. They lost a lot, laboratories infact everything in the hospital. i pray God never leaves u and your household. bless u
But we can start somewhere, to make the necessary amendments.
Wow, fashola is a tru leader, i've always bin ur number1 fan since day1...hes a visionary, competent, inteligent and reasonable leader i hail u man unlike my old, wack governor here in kogi dat lacks ideas and vision...we need fashola as a president.
A big thank you to lagos state govt. I know the first consultant hospital lost both human& material resousces wch money cant buy but at least it will go a long way. I also wish such gesture be extended to d families of those who lost their lives in d process. God bless lagos state govt& I call on federal govt to do same or more
The Hospital along with its incredible staff proved they indeed care about the lives of people. This brings me to the case of the Liberian man who fled to the States after being denied treatment for his family member. That hospital has single handedly helped the spread of Ebola. So we must praise our government in all they have done so far & thank the health workers who put their lives at risk daily.
Oh God make this man our president and pls when he becomes president, don't let the pressure of corruption destroy his vision. Amen
Really, are u serious, you obviously do not understand the ripple effect this could have had on Nigeria or the world @ large if ebola had not been contained in this hospital. Not to talk of the sacrifice they had to make.
Guy are u for real wit dis ur comment?! D way lagos state and dis hospital handled d case ensured dt it did nt spread beyond d 8 people including d sawyer bioterrorist. U shd take a trip to oda affected countries so u can b grateful. I wish I cud wish u ebola, but I can't bcos u wudnt know dt u shd contain it and nt spread it. Jealous mofo.
Really nice gesture.
Nice move Fashola.. thank God the virus was contained...and am sure d virus emanating in lagos where the Governor is not sleeping also helped in containing the virus.
Uncle Benji don hammer..oya time to pack my bags. I am on my way to my motherland obodo oyinbo it was nice while it lasted lol
Honestly, I am so surprised that everyone commenting here seem to support the Lagos State Govt. Sincerely I don't.
What is the reason for giving them this grant? Because it is Ebola?
How about so many other issues affecting "common" Lagosians?
Noble act....Eko o ni baje o.

Good.
It was a smart move. Thank you Fash.
Mr uche. You are not a very smart person
Please be quiet and stop showing your level of stupidity
Very good one @ fashola
Seconded!
Same here, but unfortunately, he can't. I hope we can make him our president someday.
Sorry, Joy. Try and contact your Lagos State House of Assembly member. Encourage the landlords association and your neighbors to do the same. That's how democracy is meant to work.
This is a unique case, and the hospital staff were very professional, and ultimately helped the whole country avoid a tragedy. My thoughts are with the family of the dead.
Thank you, Mr Fashola. May God keep you from harm. And may you become my president someday soon.
The need to address the economic consequences. Under consideration are the following.Uni-source
I concur! That Uche Emma must be pretty dumb!
