LMAO! Once again I ask, is this really Ibadan Airport? (See photos)

Are the people sending these photos to me messing with me or what? Lol. Like, how can this be real? I shared some photos yesterday and some of you didn't agree it was the real airport. Another reader just sent me what she says is the real Ibadan Airport. That's their check in and departure lounge? In 2013? Lol. I just can't. Is there an excuse for this tho? See more photos after the cut...

if you have landed or taken off from this airport, i am certain that you place a high value(reverse order) on your life. this is ridiculous. I'd like to see the control tower.

Anonymous said...

This reminds me of my first trip by Air to and from PH in November. Granted they are renovating the place but we were kept in tents (departures and arrivals) and officials would scream at the top of their lungs to get their messages across. They would wheel our bags in and put them on the floor so we could pick them up. When we were leaving, that one was so stressful, shame catch me. Its like leaving Muritala and they will ask you to open bag wey u don pack well well. I no even fit tell if I dey dat first check-in point for Muri or whether we still dey PH since we dey open and check levels.
Anyway sha, I didn't even know there's an aiport in Ibadan. It makes this news-worthy. Abi every state in Naija get airport wey we no know?
God bless my Kontri(Country). E yaf better be better.
If you like don't post Linda. Na u sabi oo.

Anonymous said...

It's a temporary base while the Main Airport is being rebuilt. The New General Aviation Terminal (GAT)in Lagos which looks sprawling now once looked like this when it was being reconstructed. The Building being rebuilt is just closely behind these tents. Linda u just looking for cheap hits with this post. U should know better that there has to be a reason why an airport shud look this way. Hit whoring Bitch.

Ever heard the now infamous Oduah was reconstructing some airports?! These are temporary structures for their operations because the terminal building is under REMODELLING. Really slow job anyway. Tot Lagos aiport conducted operations from tents at a time(that's if it's fixed now). Obviously, your sources are patriotic Nigerians in whom no mischief could be found. Just didn't have enough "airtime" to snap the construction site which is more conspicuous than these as it just to the right of these pictures. I'm sure if it depends on your life, you could easily verify these pictures before making the post but I guess site traffic is key. ✽-◦»hehehe◦»-✽

Before u pple say I'm suffering from stockholm syndrome, the port-harcourt international airport has been going renovations in the last 2yrs, true! Tents were erected, true! But, that's only TEMPORAL as the renovated departure wing is now open for use, serving both doemstic and int'l, for departure and arrivals. Is this a temporary arrangement? If yes, then y'all shud shut up! We shud only raise alarms(our voices) if this is the real (permanent) deal.. FLIPA

wonderman said...

What is the big deal, isn't it obvious that this is a temporary structure. You guys are talking as if the govt designed, erected and commissioned a tent as the airport. How come you all conveniently refused to mention that the main airport is undergoing renovation. Haters must hate. If I were the minister I would even remove the tent and leave you to board under sun and rain. Kai, this was the useless grumbling Moses suffered when he was leading his people out of slavery. Linda available even you should have known better, Lagos local airport was a like that for a long time while the renovation lasted.

All this story about this airport or similar airports being under renovation of sort is not enough reason to have this kind of structure. We have the wherewithal to have a decent structure as a make shift lounge while the main structure is being renovated. It all goes out to say how sloppy our government can be. By the way, does this so called renovation have to take forever to finish. Whether we like it or not, this is the picture that anyone that comes into this airport will go home with. At least there is no sign or an apology notice to let people know that "we are undergoing reconstruction please bear with us"

Linda, I know you want to project your blog and maintain a fan base, but neither shouldn't it be at the expense of the credibility of your integrity nor by posting sensational stories without doing a very simple background check.

The fact that you are a blogger doesn't mean that there is no more room for investigative journalism. A simple check would have revealed to you that these tents are makeshifts while the permanent structures are being renovated.

Port-Harcourt airport has tents JUST like these, but the departure hall has been completed and it's beautiful.

Blog all you want but for Christ's sakes, don't post disinformation, deceive people and take away from positive national projects.

And finally, posting pictures sent to you by people without due verification smacks of professionalism.
