Dasuki's lawyer pleads with Buhari

Counsel to embattled former National Security Adviser Dasuki Sambo, Ahmed Raji SAN, has appealed to President Buhari to allow his client go and enjoy the bail granted him by an Abuja High court on December 21st last year.

In an interview with Daily Trust, Raji said that he was too small to join words with the president.

“On the isolated case of my client- Sambo Dasuki, I plead with the President to allow him to enjoy his bail. I am too small to join words with the president of the country. I will only plead that he allows him to go on bail. In law, we have judicial review of administrative actions. We don’t have executive review of judicial decisions. That is why I would beg the president to allow all those that have been granted bail to go and enjoy it,” he said.
Dasuki who is standing trial for the misappropriation of $2.1 billion arms deal, was re-arrested immediately he met his bail condition last week.

During the presidential media chat last week Wednesday, president Buhari had suggested that the former NSA will not be released despite fulfilling his bail condition for fear of him running away and not facing the charges brought against him.

He should be kept under house arrest or something. Stop this witch hunt

This is not the way to fight corruption. Buhari cannot undermine the judiciary in a democracy all in the name of fighting corruption. If Buhari thinks the judiciary is compromised then he should do the hard work of driving reform of the judiciary through the legislature. The blatant disregard of democratic institutions by Buhari is a time bomb waiting to explode in his face.

Washington Post wrote an article basically saying that Buhari is tyrannical and Reuters said same. Sooner than later the international community will start beating the drums. Right now the oil licensing round coming up in a few months when Buhari will reward the U.S. With Niger delta oil for installing him through a democratic coup is the only reason they are all keeping them lips sealed. But God's purpose for Nigeria will surely stand!

And all those people saying due process should be followed and blah blah blah are extremely idiotic and stupid! May your families be firsthand victims of this sort if corruption. Amen! Silly cows!

It's so unfortunate what we allow this tyranny happen.
Anyone that supports this doesn't want the good of the country. This is how Hitler started till it degenerated to full blown tyranny.
Many Nigerians during the election boasted and felt that things couldn't get worse. That this is modern era.
The sun that shone on slaves in America in 1830 is same sun. The sun that shone on the oppressed Jews in 1939 is same. Nothing changes but people's perception and how they react to issues. Re colonisation can still happen, tyrants can still rule Nigeria and it's happening. Its sad that people won't see it and will buy quickly to this 'Dasuki is a criminal thing'. Little by little, our rights will be eroded. If this thing can happen to Dasuki, a son of the sultan or so, who are you, a wretched Nigerian who just wants to make a livelihood or who mistakenly went out during environmental sanitation. They will lock you up and forget your key.

You may argue that Dasuki is wrong but the court is not the machinery or houseboy of the president. Let's leave the matter to the court. There is danger in entrusting too much power to one man. Buhari cannot hold the right to pass judgement on DASUKI and feed you all with tales of what he did, prejudge him and lock him up when he has been granted bail instead of allowing us hear from his side and allowing the judge to determine. Today, people trust PMB and the fact that he wants what is good for the country but imagine what happens if he changes like Hitler? (Hitler wanted the best for Germany too, he was good at the beginning), what if Buhari decides to try people for questioning his power? What if someone like Linda Ikeji is picked up tomorrow, for owning a mansion and they lie and allege she shared part of Goodluck's loot just cos Linda is reporting against APC?
What will happen then? By then, all the opposition would have been silenced and no one can talk, and no judge can rule against him. That is why tyranny should be shunned. One man cannot dictate the criminal and still be the one to judge him. Everyone is afraid now. This is how it starts. Who will uncover something about this government and speak up? Who wants to go to jail and when the court grants you bail and you try to leave, you are bundled back into a dark van and dark cell and nothing happens? Open your eyes. Stop supporting impunity.

Don't be decieved, when the court grants bails, they seize travel documents. So Dasuki is going nowhere. His face is splattered round all national dailies, he is hiding nowhere. If he goes to any country for check up, he'll be under surveillance. The government should tighten it's immigration, that's the only right course. If the government are so scared of him running, then there's a fundamental problem with immigration and security here that should be addressed.

Just a little look into Google even wikipedia about Buhari's past regime, how he arrested people, ho he disobeyed court orders, how he kidnapped a man from the UK just for him to face trial, his economic policies, why he lost power. Just Google his name, you will find out whether he has changed or not.

History always repeats itself, only the unwise don't learn from it.

Dasuki shot himself in the leg by trying to be trickishly smart when he mentioned Buhari's name as part of those he gave money to. He even lied that he gave Buhari $300000 which was a fat lie. Why did u eat the Buhari's entitlement money and now use the money for arms to pay for the car for his entitlement? The big question is; If u claimed u used out of the money for arms to pay for his entitlement, what happened to Buhari's entilement money? Did you loot it too?

Good for Dasuki. You would have been released on bail by now but you opened your big mouth to lie against Buhari that you gave him 300k out of the arms money you looted. You made people believe you shared the money with him without explaining to the public that it is his entitlement money. This is character defamation. Next time, stop taking stupid advice from your PDP hoodlums.

For the lawyer to beg for leniency then it means the president has the right to deny bail or the re arrest is legal otherwise the same lawyers would be at the supreme Court in no time. There is no limits to the number of times a person can be arrested as long as its a fresh case, the DSs has learned to charge these thieves in bits and pieces because of the corruption in some aspects of our judiciary. There is nothing wrong in arresting him a hundred times if he committed a hundred different crimes

Unknown said...

Since hunters ( judges) learned how to shoot without missing ( frivolous bails for criminals) the birds ( EfFC nd DSS ) have learned to fly without pirching ( break the crimes into several fresh cases) lolzz the lawyer is only happier, more money for each new case.
