Linda, I wholeheartedly, agree with Asari. Nothing like Chibok took place. It has all been a scam perpetrated by the northerners to make Jonathan look unpresidential in the eyes of the public and foreigners. And they are succeeding. The purported of the girls shown by can is nothing but a big sham. I will just raise one or two issues for discerning mind to think off.
1. The girls in the video released by cnn are just little girls that are not up to the age of normal students about to sit for waec, rather, they look like girls in jss 1-3. Contrast that with the pictures of the girls that 'escaped', those ones are grown a** women who may have out grown the waec age.
2. We were told that a lot of activities are going on in Zambia forest where the girls are being held. Now, how come the video failed to show any of those activities? How come it shows a very pristine part of a forest that is very clean? To me, that video is a hastily arranged video shoot with the sole purpose of proving a line of argument.
3. Also, look at the faces of the little girls in the video, do their faces show any signs of distress? No, none whatsoever. How could girls of such age who have 'undergone' and are still 'undergoing' such treacherous circumstances, look so robust and well fed? Mind you, we are being made to know that they trekked long distances and have been staying in wild forest for 3 weeks now. Common people!
4. We all know the modus operandi of boko haram, they always back up their actions with videos immediately in order to show that they are not joking. In other words, they thrive on publicity. Why did they have to wait until some people started expressing doubts about the whole scam before they released the video? This is very contrary to their ways of operation.
Now for what I think is going on.
1. The north has always been in supportive of the bokos. They know who they are and how to stop them. That's why you hear stories of food and ammunition being dropped of at strategic places for them. They are using them to show Jonathan as weak and incompetent. This fake kidnapping was hashed with two purposes in mind, first, to get their fellow terrorists and combatants in various jails released. Second, to tarnish Jonathan in the eyes of the international community with 2015 in mind. That's why you see the so called shakau who has never called for any sort of negotiation with the infidels, now asking for negotiations before the girls are 'released'. What about shettima who is now claiming to know where the girls are. This was a man that has never shown any kind of emotion whatsoever since the girls were 'kidnapped', all of a sudden crying over the girls just few days ago.
It's high time people started to look at what is happening discerningly, instead of being led by the nose by foreign press. I'm very happy that they executed this sham, because they actually miscalculated.
