Having taken special notice of reports of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria and other investigating bodies, which indicate clearly that Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi’s tenure has been characterized by various acts of financial recklessness and misconduct which are inconsistent with the administration’s vision of a Central Bank propelled by the core values of focused economic management, prudence, transparency and financial discipline;
Being also deeply concerned about far-reaching irregularities under Mallam Sanusi’s watch which have distracted the Central Bank away from the pursuit and achievement of its statutory mandate; and
Acting Governor, Dr Sarah Alade |
President
Jonathan has further ordered that Mallam Sanusi should hand over to the most
senior Deputy Governor of the CBN, Dr Sarah Alade who will serve as Acting
Governor until the conclusion of on-going investigations into breaches of
enabling laws, due process and mandate of the CBN.
The
President expects that as Acting Governor of the Central Bank, Dr. Alade will
focus on the core mandate of the Bank and conduct its affairs with greater
professionalism, prudence and propriety to restore domestic and international
confidence in the country’s apex bank.
The Federal
Government of Nigeria reassures all stakeholders in Nigeria’s financial and
monetary system that this decision has been taken in absolute good faith, in
the overall interest of the Nigerian economy and in accordance with our laws
and due process.

Wat s happenin n dis country
Abeg,he shld also suspend the minister if education
This is just proof that president Jonathan is part of the 20b dollar scam. Shame on you Jonah SHAME!!!
It is a shame that this hypocritical President who did not have the spine to sack Stella Oduah in a glaring case of corruption, this rogue President that has not made any effort to investigate or wade into the several billion dollars unaccounted funds in NNPC can suddenly quickly wake up to the need to suspend the whistle blower on his shady deals over unfounded allegations. Barawo, you will hear from us in 2015.
Good for him
Dis kain sack everyday, na ur destiny b dat Jona?
hmmmm na wa ......all dis jst to great a loop hole for looting funds for elections 2015!
Swear down, Goodluck Jonathan is a big fool, the most corrupt leader in our generation. God punish this man. Plsss linda publish my comment o,
I saw this coming. No nonsense President
finally! the man was about to throw banks back into the failed banks era. so many people have been rendered jobless because of his reckless policies.
Niceeeeeeee!!!
you are the worst president ever...u say ur d best but that is what the previous ones said before...a fncked country fnucked president...this isnt ur fadas house or business that u kip on sacking all d people u appointed...and people are turning lindaikeji's blog to a social network...keep up the good work dear
#Copied-- I'm actually shocked. So, we can conclude that Lamido Sanusi has been telling the truth and the presidency is involved in the corruption?" Sanusi is suspended for exposing corruption. Same happened to Bashir Gwandu at NCC. Also to Yushau Shuaib at NEMA when he criticised NOI. I weep for My nation...
I watched on the news the other day during the NNPC missing fund hearing when he was arguing with madam economy and i concluded that he was very incompetent to handle this position in the first place. Madam economy was virtually teaching him in front of the House of Reps members who were shocked at some of the findings and misconceptions he had put forward to them.
Great news!!!NEXT..........
Mallam ur cup don full finally
After e don tif all d moni finish. Mstchew
K
WATEVER
My dear Mr. President,
Your advisers will only plunge you into deeper waters.i see that the administration will do everything and anything to cover up the issue of the missing monies.
There might be discrepancies in the figures but whatever the actual figure is,can the minister of petroleum, the GMD and the coordinating minister for the economy please advise and answer us.
Your strategy is obvious, you need to get mallam sanusi out of the office so you can go in to cover up.
Sanusi maybe a loud mouthed man,but he's the best thing that has happened to our banking sector in decades.
Once more Mr president, you have got it wrong.
They say "he who the gods want to kill, they first run mad"
Posterity will never be fair on this administration
I find it laughable the grounds on which they found Sanusi guilty, doesn't it make mockery of our fight against corruption when found we it easy to relieve a man who raised an alarm over the impunity going on in the NNPC of his duties, while it took the protest and clamour of almost every Nigerian for the president to reluctantly late Oduah go.
Am not even talking of the likes of Aruma Oteh and Deziani.
Oh! Poor Lamido Sanusi,I know what gave you away,it was your conscience, yes your conscience because if you were able to subdue the persistent shout of your conscience and tow the path of presidential rotweilers like Labaran maku and Nyesom Woke, whose efforts were rewarded with an additional portfolios of supervising ministers, you wouldn't ended up being suspended. And even at retirement you might be sent to another FG establishment as compensation.
You choose to expose corruption, but who told you such works in Nigeria. Haven't you heard of cases where people were sent to jail for reporting a crime to the police?
Haba! I heard you're a highly principled man and very religious too,but u forgot this is Nigeria and a GEJ administration, where financial corruption is only a term relative to internet frauds by young boys and petty financial crimes.
Now that Sanusi is gone,
Who will then keep Nigerians abreast of all NNPC financial misconducts?
Who will then tell the common man what actually happened to the purported Kerosene subsidy fund?
Who will then look the GMD of NNPC straight in the eye and tell him "you goofed sir" ?
Who will tell us the actual condition of the economy when Okonjo Iweala will be confusing us with figures.
We will surely miss you Mallam.
~BONARIO~says so via NOKIA3310
9ice 1 Mr. President, that's what u wld hv done since, let dis aboki go and wait till he becomes d emir of his village. Quest4life
I really don't understand GEJ anymore, he blew the whistle...yes...commend him!you don't like his methods? Caution him!its simple na!!!haba...yet it took so long to remove oduah and co...

No nonsense??you obviously don't know your history lessons.
That was a good decision.

Congratulations to Dr. Sarah Alade! Let women begin to occupy big positions jor
What about the minister of petroleum. madam of all madams .
Oh what a shame.another illiterate commenter.I'm a banker and this mans policies though strict is the only reason why investors can still wake up and know their funds are safe.
The banks collapsed years ago because the senior management were getting richer than the bank using investors funds.
Kindly go and acquire some knowledge before you speak or type.thank you
No , he thinks Nigerians are no aware of his gimmicks . a very big shame on him
All you idiots should stop insulting our President...
Daeviv,and yours has run over.
We are in trouble if messengers are victimized instead of the government treating the corruption.
While stating reasons and manners in which the CBN Governor is to be removed from office, Section 11(2f) of the CBN Act 2007, says:
“The Governor, Deputy Governor or Director shall cease to hold office in the Bank if he: (a) becomes of unsound mind or, owing to ill health, is incapable of carrying out his duties; (b) is convicted of any criminal offence by a court of competent jurisdiction except for traffic offences or contempt proceedings arising in connection with the execution or intended execution of any power or duty conferred under this Act or the Banks and Other Financial Institutions Act; (c) is guilty of a serious misconduct in relation to his duties under this Act; (d) is disqualified or suspended from practicing his profession in Nigeria by order of a competent authority made in respect of him personally; (e) becomes bankrupt; (f) is removed by the President: Provided that the removal of the Governor shall be supported by two-thirds majority of the Senate praying that he be so removed.”
This is welcome development.Sanusi,we thank you for ΰя outstanding services to our dear country.
Someone says he isn't seeking a 2nd term. Due to retire in a few months. He says money is missing. U don't ask for the money, u ask him to resign. He refuses. You suspend him.... A northerner with clout, your CBN governor . What message are you putting out to the international community? To the local community ? To the new CBN governor ? Such a stupid, tactless , mis advised dude.
Jona Jona 2015 nigerians will shock you, bet me
U re completely daft! U obviously donot have the slightedt idea of what is happening in the Banking industry.Sanusi tenure has been charaterised with daily sack of bank workers due to his unpopular stupid financial policies. Goat! Next time be sure of what u re saying.
president jonathan its with great pity and shame that i send this messsage to you.........so people get punished now for probing into the truth. where is the 20b naira? mr president
I pity you.he should talk less.i hope your funds and your parents savings isn't in any Nigerian bank.we just lost the most honest thing that happened to our banking sector.
GEJ u have just proven to us the masses that ur crusade on corruption is a flux, selective justice. Why suspend Sanusi?what is ur Govt. Afraid of? Avoiding more revelations on d NNPC Saga. I blame Sanusi partly for not coming out with the truth earlier.
Cool down!!!! Jonathan isn't doing bad! He should just sack Sanusi... Sanusi is a cunning sombori....

He has received insults, one too many from Sanusi.I have always said it that if Sanusi was a man of honour,he should have resigned after he claimed that 42 billion dollars was unaccounted for.

long overdue, Sanusi killed the banking industry. those insulting GEJ should go and check CBN spending uner Sanusi, donating billions of Naira. he should go to jail.
Oh my humble boss! I hope u all know dis suspension is as a result of exposing d real thieves of Nigeria's money. Sanusi lamido mayb naturally loud but alwaz on point. May Allah hlp dis our hopeless country.
Aren't you stupid? Nigerians need to get enlightened.sanusi exposed the corruption going on in nnpc, now GEJ decides to suspend him? Why? Best decision ever, sanusi pls go back to kano and rest. You can islamize ol d banks there if u so wish but dat can only be when u become d emir. Enemies of progress, we knw u ol, God bless jonathan
Sanusi Lamido as a central bank gov has the absolute right 2 check the excesses of the govt..this govt is fucking corrupt $20billion missing while 40percent of African nations survive on less than $5billion anually and GEJ is expecting him 2 be quiet hell no..anyways Sanusi has nothing 2 loose cos he has a throne waiting 4 him and that throne doesn't have a tenure and that throne is Rich as Fuck..so this village man should infact continue his sacking cos in the end,he is gonna sack himself by himself.
This snail has no right to suspend Sanusi. I'm sure he put Sarah there to embezzle money for 2015 election
U re completely daft! U obviously donot have the slightedt idea of what is happening in the Banking industry.Sanusi tenure has been charaterised with daily sack of bank workers due to his unpopular stupid financial policies. Goat! Next time be sure of what u re saying.
I personaly don't like sanusi but its very clear his suspension is to cover up the $20b frud by nnpc. Trust me this nnpc issue is about to die down. No be today this kind thing dey happen na..........naija is FUCKED! Pls excuse my french
Like serzly, its nt abt any1 occupying any post, buh I tot every1 was all ova dis man wen he got apointed den, Now he's nt a gud person anymore bcos GEJ feels so, wat a country!!!! Nigerians She na like dis we go dey dey?
Just like Jonah was in the belle of the fish our dear Jona is also sleeping in the belle of Nigerian dark, murky waters. So sad it was my Sanusi you had the audacity to suspend. NEVER AGAIN to a man without shoes. NEVER,
No matter the justification GEJ must act in order not to be perceived as holding a grudge.
This is the only person working in his government and he sacks him? seriously, mr president???? it is a pity....
linda pls post my comment o
yours truly,
first time commenter
Bonario best comment ever.
The handlers of the president are actually babies in politics and basic PR. They just made a martyr out of Sanusi Lamido. It would now look, even to a teenager, that he was relieved of his duties due to the pending allegations against elements of this idiotic government. Why would a government keep strengthening the opposition to itself by intentionally directing sympathy to its accusers? We’ve never had it this bad in Nigeria. Sad, ominous day.
So anybody who isn't an APC/Northern-Dominance apologist doesn't know their history lessons? Sanusi was a two-faced crook. Good riddance!
Uncle jonna as shown the whole world that another hidden name of his is curruption your action is not in the best intrest of nigerian we the masses of this country no your game plan the highest you can have is another four years, some of us later scumble to your removal of goverment incentive on fuel because of this aticulated man all you can do is to sack the technocrat in your goverment and leave the mediocrat to wreak nigeria in the high sea of the westarn world.Sanusi you are the best cbn governor of all time the most aticulated mouthpice of the masses God Bless sanusi,God bless the masses,God bless nigeria

Nigeria....wat a sorry excuse for a country. Then y are we praying for the country to chng wen pple in high places are doing everything to mk sure it stays the same??? Former minister of aviation was removed so she cud pursue a bigger political role. In nig we reward evil, and discipline good. Sanusi has a big mouth yes, buh it was dis big mouth dat brought to lite d Nnpc fraud, and now our so called chief of d armed forces booted him out. In ds country, there is no room for do gooders in political positions period. Linda bera post o! U havent bin posting my comments and its becoming troubling rili.
Tilewa, You are obviously a note counter! Improve your knowledge pls.

Go and sit down mr man,am a banker too and his useless policies hz made a lot jobless,he sud have just dealt wit d senior officers witout victimizn d jnr ones.tak severally sits plssssss.

I wonder who is lying
OGA JONA JUST DE FIRE PEOPLE ANYHOW, WATCH UR BACK BROS
Nigeria is full of fraudsters... Werrin this man do wey them sack am? Because he told Nigerians that almost $50B is missing? Cowshit country ...
To all my learned commenters, I believe Sanusi has done nothing wrong to warrant this humiliation. It is evident that Sanusi had to go before he would indict more people into the scam. He is a man i respect so much despite that we are not from thesame tribe. His way and manner of handling economic issues is 2nd to none. Gov Lamido I wish you the best jaweee. Please do not hesitate to reveal more of those scams.2015 will definitely change the history of Nigeria
In the same week that dozens of girls are kidnapped, hundreds massacred, you decide, kick out Sanusi, the only man asking questions. Nice.
It might be too late to weep *offers handkerchief*
This is good news! So we can rest from this short devil's unpopular policies which has only succeeded in causing several job mayhem in Nigerian Banks.Risk analyst my foot. You re better go baq to kano and wait for your turn to become an emir if antall it will get to u, then u can run the place as u like. Idiot! Long live GEJ! Long live Naija!
Bona, you are one person whose analytical comments made me to start commenting on this blog. However,I disagree with the manner in which you are basing your argument. The minister of finance knows the beaucracy that is associated with her office and also how to manage it professionally. She is one person whose image and competency cannot be tarnished by even President Jonathan.Sanusi on the other hand,is a raging bull in a china shop. His utterances and actions shows that he is overwhelmed by his job as CBN governor. If he was a man of honour, he should have resigned his position, and then go ahead to criticize Jonathan as much as he wanted. Something similar happened between President Fernandez of Argentina, and the equivalent of their CBN governor. The latter resigned, because he cannot engage in a battle of supremacy with the president of Argentina. Make no mistakes about my comment,I am not calling GEJ a saint.Infact, most of his actions lives much to be desired, but I believe he is right on this one.
God bless
He has received insults, one too many from Sanusi.I have always said it that if Sanusi was a man of honour,he should have resigned after he claimed that 42 billion dollars was unaccounted for.
U are a fool for commenting in such manner
'See Pot wey dey call kettle black': shey na today the guy start to dey do all dose things? The Government doesn't just take certain positive steps unless it stand to gain something from such steps. Once the government starts to fight corruption in certain places, check very well, there must be a political undertone to it! I've always said it; there is no single saint among all of these people!!!
GEJ, You can perform all your Abracadabra from now till 2015, but I can assure you that; No CAN President, No Pastor Adeboye, No Traditional Ruler, No Militant, Not even Asari Dokubo, can save you from the catastrophe of the 2015 elections. We will salvage Nigeria from decay and POWER WILL RETURN TO THE NORTH no matter whose OX is GORED.
Atleast, Lamido Sanusi has the balls to stand up & tell it as it is. By the way - I wish you BADLUCK in your endeavors.
zoharariel@aol.com
Prize to pay for bin disloyal no matter hw wrng GEJ may b he is still d president sanusi having ignorned dat lead to suspension mallam learn is a priciple of life
hmmmmm. this is not the end of the matter.. we expect to see #mattersarising
U illiterate which of his policies is throwing Nigeria back? I'm sure u don't know that amongst many of his progressive policies COT is being taken off for customers and soon ur stupid as won't be charged any COT when u keep ur money in the bank. Ode.
Tank u for ur comment
Most of you are kind of ignorant.... I work with CBN. Sanusi stopped promotions employed all his northern brothers both those not qualified..He is using CBN cash to build hospitals and structure in d north... He actually culled d cash openly... He is worth billions. He is d most notorious womaniser on earth...Pls learn
Jonathan u are digging ur own grave. So it's now an offense to speak the truth about missing money. Well Nigerians are aware that u and ur corrupt officials stole the money. Sacking Sanusi Lamido has shown us that your hands are filthy concerning the missing money. I will always respect u Sanusi because u spoke the truth. Jonathan I want u to know that come 2015 the masses will send u out of Aso Rock
Any president who is better than GEJ should come out. He aint a saint but he ain't the worse.
Sanusi may have brought this issue to light but lets all get this straight, its not among the Mandate of CBN.
Even Sanusi hammering on introducing N5,000 note made me realize he had gone rogue, trying to introduce easier ways for the northerners to transport money.
As for what he did for the banks, thank you Sir, but one thing I have learnt is that rather than fight with your leader, do your job right and try to get your leader to warm up to you, then he can listen to you.
If I made typo errors, ndo nu. Oyibo bu agbara
I luv Reuben Abati's position.
A lot of ignorant ppl trying to post comments. Not all topics should appeal to everyone. Ignorance is the major killa in this country.
That serves him right,he is so unprofessional,a man that doesn't no his job discription.we don't need a politician as CBN governor.Mallam U can now be a full time politician, cos that's wot U'v always wanted.Gej continue Your good work.
His policies didn't cause the loss of jobs you nitwit, his intervention in the banking sector saved you and I our kobo kobo in these banks.
May Allah bless u and ur family abundantly. U are abt d best commenter av ever come across in all blogs av ever visited. We need people like u in d affairs of dis our great bt corrupt country. Op to invite u to Norway one dis days. MR BONARIO NNAGS FOR SENATOR
Just because he exposed the thievery by Jona and co he was sacked. Oga Jona say bye bye to 2015. Thieves!
What is rong with u guys self, anytin that happend in this country u accuse Mr president.how has it being the bizness of Mr president on the missing oil money, has Mr president be come minister petroleum or madam finance, let's put Mr president aside of this.president suspended sanusi him did'nt sack him
Let mind what we write, let us don't forget is same this sanusi that wonted to introduce #5000note in a way of filling he's own pocket, but 2day he has become the best govnor of CBN. Make una wiseup
Smh, Aboki indeed, do you ever crave for a corruption free Nigeria?
I hope SLS has enough data to start his own version of wikileaks. One man with passion for doing great things for Nigeria.
IF GEJ like, he can put Ijebu Igbo or Okiti Pupa there to replace the man of honour (Sanusi). His congo for gari don full of corruption and he has testified to it with the suspension of Sanusi (he wan cover loop hole)
If he like, he can put Obasanjo's family there to please the people of South West, e no go work, we just want a credible candidate and he has failed to deliver.
2014 our God shall establish the destiny of his children, dethrone and destroy all the enemies of this nation and establish his glory. Just beware were you belong so that you and your household will not be destroyed with the evil ones. Heaven is real.
@MO I support u here ever. “He who gods want to kill, they first run mad” Am still laughing. Our President village name na SACK! ⌣̊┈̥-̶̯͡»̶̥♡thanks ⌣̊┈̥-̶̯͡»̶̥
Lying about what.facts don't lie.sanusi has accused them using documents.they should refute this by providing evidence instead of removing the only obstacle to their theft
There'll be a lot of revelations in the coming weeks.
Aby, its not about the sexes, what I see from here is that the administration is looking for someone easily toiled with. Sanusi was too tough for the govt, which is exactly what is needed in such a sensitive environment/industry. I'm not happy his allegations weren't probed properly. What sensible president does something like that?
Dead country.
ISN'T IT AMAZING HOW PEOPS WHO KNOW NOTHING ABOUT GOVT POLICIES,OPEN THE HOLE ON THEIR FACES TO TALK RUBBISH...HE DID THE RIGHT THING JARE
Linda post my comments o!
Nigerians let all think well, and nt start takin sides sanusi is dis, gudluck is dat......our future is paramont.
@ Rasheed: The key phrase to dig out is "................suspended from practicing his profession in Nigeria by order of a competent authority..........." What competence does Mr President have to do this
Will sacking him get jobs to those lives his policies have ruined? We should always be careful of some of these innovations that make us appear as if we are doing favour to the public, while in the real sense, we are doing a great disfavour to the poor masses. Alot of homes have been ruined in the name of "Sanusi' Ahitophel' cousels. Good day Nigerians, let us hope for the best!
Sanusi's problems started when he exposed the fraud in our banks.. Oceanic bank, Union Bank, Intercontinental bank etc. I know the acting Governor is a stooge of the presidency and a loyal kiss ass fellow. Confirmed Judas and a CUNT
My greatest regret is voting for GEJ.I will do everything,I mean EVERYTHING possible to mobilize friends, families, colleagues,my church nd even my foes to vote him out of office come 2015.The battle line is drawn.I'm startin my campaign dis moment#ravin mad#
I really don't know much about what has been happening, but I think it was a rather hasty decision at least we haven't heard that he bought 2 bullet proof cars like oduah and he took him about 2 or more months to sack her, so why? is there something you are hiding Dr GEJ
If jona likes he should sack he's entire cabinet,Dts he's cup of tea. Shoeless yakame
Dosi
Oh No... Linda, many of the libers up here dont have sense. This is a sensitive issue. We nigerians are our own problem. Most idiots talking shii up here dont even know whats happening. Sanusi remains the best CBN gov nigeria has ever had. No need for sentiments, GEJ is the worst president we ever had. He knows the best way to shut sanusi up, is to have him suspended. Ladies and Gentlemen your president GEJ is a failure. I am disappionted. ::BigName Daniels::
Igor,I always address your comments personally.aside from posts that have no direct economic relevance, your input is always Ill informed and sorry to say, dumb.(apologies but I couldn't find a better word to describe your write up)
He made an allegation backing it with documents.its left for the accused to put forward documents backing their rebuttal.they haven't been able to successfully convince us.rather they have gone from one excuse to the other.
There may have been discrepancies in figures (which is understandable cos these figures aren't originated from CBN) but is the answer for Mr president to remove the whistleblower.the culpable people need sanusi out so they can go in to remove the evidence.
This isn't the way forward.Mr president has just created a situation whereby people in leadership with genuine intentions will keep quiet so they can keep their jobs.
I hope Igor, that you are a lot more informed than earlier otherwise go back to school.
For the learned and well informed, your comments are wonderful. For the clueless educated illiterates please seek help.
Am glad am a part of this generation*change*. 2015 is just here it will shock our politicians cos there's going to be an immense and drastic change.
I doff my hat for your Sanusi Lamido Sanusi
11:29,I am sure of what I'm saying.but if your comment is the same manner in which you have approached your job,no wonder you were sacked or if you still have a job then maybe that's why you are yet to climb up the professional ladder.
Thank u! My tot exactly.
Fmr,Gov.Sanusi was consistently inconsistent during his tenure due to his over zealous and loud mouthed nature. He did not conduct himself as a CBN Governor. He is arrogant and exhibits a position of an untouchable . Let him not vacate the office until June as once said and see if the arms of the law will not deal with him. How long shall we remain with a man who runs CBN as a personal affair? He is never sure of his figures. what a Banker.
Mr. President has taken the right step before Sanusi plung the country into serious integrity problems.
When mallam lamido sanusi was made governor of the central bank of nigeria i never did liked him i always am wearying of short people esp him and el rufai but as he carried on his task it was obvious he was a financial genius even better than Charles soludo the truth of the matter is President Jonathan ngonzi okonjo iwela and Allison madueke all kn w wat they are doing they no wat happened to the missing moni at first they denied it later when sanusi became very dogged and determined they owned up that truly funds are missin Jonathan sacking sanusi only goes to prove how guilty and corrupt his administration has been
Okiro! Ur actually the bastard and de fool here! You have no home training obviously, calling the number one citizen a bastard fool. I blame jonathan for allowing ur likes to make this kind of sily comments. Devil punish u.
Igor, like I wrote, apologies for using the word dumb.its not in reference to your person but to your actions via your words.i believe you are speaking from a sentimental point of view.
I do not agree that he should resign.he has a few months to go.why allow a politician ruin his hard earned professional status.
Secondly Igor,we can't all stay out of the business of governance if we expect to move this country forward.a few of us on this blog should come together to see where and how we can add quality service to our country.

If Oga Jona is wrong, then its time 4 Sanusi to prove him wrong......we go soon hear the whole truth.
The best are always pushed out while dumb sass remain in Govt.Jonathan the houseboy to Dezaini bares his fangs lol.what happened to our $20b
My people don't forget that mr president want to come back 2015 and his try to favor yoruba he believe it's time to need theysuport so he heve to let sanusi go for his missoin to acommplisch
What's the need for suspending him? His tenure will expire in few weeks ahead
let not argue or insult ourselves concerning this people, they are there stealing our money and saving it for their unborn fifth generation. SEE THE ONLY WAY OUT IS DIVIDING NIGERIA AND THERE WILL BE PEACE.
On the contrary chy.i worked hard enough to have started from SBO to my present position up here.
Dont talk like dat, jona knw waht is doing
I work here too.i am from the south west and the same thing was said when soludo was gov.you can't please people.mallam might have been a very vocal man but his word is his word.now the cover up can begin since he has been successfully removed.
Be careful my dear friends, instead of these criticisms why not we all pray for him.
We do not care about the person (sanusi) @anon i work with cbn u wld have done worse in dat position.is he a reformer? Yes.does he know his job? Yes.is money missing? Yes.has the missing money been found? No.thats the problem In this country. We don't treat issues we personalise everything. 20 billions dollars isn't beans . Since we can't find it every one involved in the issues shld be suspended till found. That what sensible and right thinking countries do.if u were sacked because of policies of a particular person blame d govt .because they put him and they are responsible for every policy he makes. And u voted(rigged) them in.
U accuse someone of being dumb wen in actual sense u are d dumb one. A cbn governor who's accusing d nnpc 4 financial irregilarities nd he himself is not sure of d figure. Dis man has changed d amount over 4 times, so who shuld we trust, d cbn governor who isn't sure of the amount or the nnpc who say there's no irregularity 4rm their returns to the government . He's d cbn governor and there a proper way to go about such controversies without making it public. He deserves 2 b sacked not suspended. He shuld learn 2 make his fact right before pointing the accusing fingers. U calln someone dumb, access ur self to make sure u aren't d dumb one.
Finally! Nigeria I hail thee.
This is the best comment I've read all along. Some idiots need 2 go back 2 school to learn d duties of d cbn governor
@Bonau shud write a book someday trust me it would be a bestseller !!!
It still baffles me on how nigeria can still trust iweala, Diaziane GMD of nnpc nd d likes was there ever sudsidy in kerosene in the first instance why d increment on the product for d common masses to suffer nd for them to syphon to the money bloody rogues of which there leader is d president u sacked sanusi becs of dazanie toto idiot like u.
And Who Approves Linda
Hmmm! Jonathan is working, Nigeria is working only if you don't blow any whistle. Econometrician VS Politician issues! As at yrstrdy,am sure dt most of dis higgihagga commenters blves Sanusi is d best Gov.
What blood
And Who Approves Linda
If they don't suspend him how do you expect them to loot the treasury for 2015 election, since Sanusi is not supporting them. however the $20b missing could be part of their budgeted funds for 2015 election campaign and Sanusi is already raising alarm over it.. so, my fellow Nigerians they just have to sack him to make way for them and mark my words more revelations on the way....... i dey laffff ooo
MO,abusing me will not change my stance. What I've said, and will still maintain is that,if Sanusi was a man of honour,he should have resigned after the revelation. His sit tight approach will only lead to his shameful exit, because, the buck stops on the president's table. And please,I m well informed, and I know statements that has political undertone.
Ok anoda colomental talking! U will mobilise ur families against urself? Ok who wld u vote for? APC abi? Losers!
I have read a whole lots of comments here as usual, but have decided to reply to BONARIO NNAGS and also Igor comments respectively: @BONARIO NNAGS, I use to think that you are well informed and.., but today, I tell you; you put me in a big doubt. And again I must commend you @ Igor; you have a good sense of reasoning. I am not trying to be sentimental here, but rather to tell us that when we are commenting on serious issues like this, we should do it with adequate sense of reasoning and flirted information. You do not write because you have freedom of speech and all that. If I must say, Bonario is really lost in this matter, yet he took his time to pen down lots of words and these words are very sensitive and can be instigating as well. The LCM of my talk here is "we should please be well informed before we make public comments". God Bless Nigeria!. Long live Our President!! God bless Nigerians!!!
MO res ipsa loquitor, and you have been busy attacking me.

@Bona... best comment (A real Nigerian)
Omoluwabi!
Well said Bonario, it's a shame that now that he is gone we may never get to the bottom of the missing billions! He had only till June to retire, why the hurry to push him aside? Well there is nothing hidden under the sun so no matter how long it takes the TRUTH must come out.
If you can't stand the heat leave the kitchen
abi o, the untouchable prime minister, deziani maduekwe..why is she still in office?
If you can't stand the heat leave the kitchen
If you can't stand the heat leave the kitchen
If you can't stand the heat leave the kitchen
God bless 9JA
This our president.... I mean oga Jonathan has some element of Obasanjo blood in him, slow but very deadly and unforgiven
Sanusi is just a proud egoistic and arrogant person. He is not near d best brains we have in this country. He almost plunged this country into religious crisis with his Islamic Banking, arbitrariness was his second name making un approved donations and building event centres with CBN money leaving his core responsibility as the apex Bank.He was simply power drink.Let him wait and ascend the throne as the next Emir of Kano or he can simply contest for the presidency under ACP if he dosent go to jail.Good Riddance.
Jona thief...If u like sack ecerybody... we must knw d root of how our 20b$ got missing..u corner our moni for 2015 election... we must protest wit our life.. we re ready to die for our right....

I am so so pleased!
Enough of that bastard's insolence!
This move is long overdue!
Never could a CBN governor be more sabotaging of a government under which he is serving...
Thumbs up to President GEJ!
I HAIL...
@halle Nigeria might be hopeless for Ʊ, not the same wit ♍ε̲. A̅m hopeful. *Cagey*
I have simply stopped commenting on Nigeria's intransigent and wobbled administration. But I have to talk about Sanusi's removal. Because a man was confident enough to step up and expose the rot in Jonathan’s administration, they vilify and victimize him.
I read the report by Sanusi on why Nigeria’s foreign reserve refuses to increase despite consistent global rise of oil prices. The report contains spiraling details which specifically brings the NNPC and some oil venture dealers into focus. All Jonathan could do is to remove him for ‘failing to focus on economic management and monetary policy expected of a Central Bank’.
All this is becoming messy and Jonathan stands in the middle of it all. The twist of this, in the political sense is that, Sanusi’s removal will only upscale his admiration from Nigerians and more hate for the government. All these only depict a government struggling with ideological, populist and electoral legitimacy against the 2015 election.
I knew it would result to this. Jona should just remember power doesn't last forever, I wonder what's goin to happen to him if he leaves d corridors of power..
GEJ fighting corruption in this manner? May God Nigeria.
Really?Jonah actually is aware of the 20billion fraud Sanusi was screaming to the public about. He said the NNPC failed to remit 20billion dollars into federal account. Jonathannnnnnnnniiiiii, you are worst that other presidents. All this guys making Nigerians suffer from poverty with miserable minimum wage, telling a lie about how broke Nigeria we are would know no peace in life.Jonathan must fail in 2015.
Good work Mr president!!
You are the one that needs going back to school. If u don't understand issues better keep quiet than making misleading comments. You don't have all the information so please save us the half truth. CBN Governor is a very sensitive and important position and unguarded utterances from the office holder is very dangerous. He lost focus and he should have done the honourable thing by resigning.
Na wa ooooo. COT gone will have a negative impact on the revenue streams of banks and one of the implications maybe loss of jobs in the sector. We need to find ways of creating jobs and not ways of loosing them
i think suspending the CBN governor came at a wrong timing,in as much as sanusi's hands might not be clean, mr president wud have stil waited to get down to the root of the missing 'wareva billion'....GOD SAVE NIGERIA

Serves sanusi right. That's what happens when a subordinate oversteps his boundary. He became blinded to his limits.
Sanusi should have just kept quiet CIA he steals too
