Access Bank’s ‘W Initiative’ presents: Women! Let’s Save! 2015

Jane recalled the story of a Chinese woman who tore an ATM with her bare hands. As shestared at the ATM screen with the message ‘Transaction in Progress’ blinking for what seemed like hours, she was tempted to do same,Naija style.

The machine finally released the money and she handed the last few thousands in her account to her younger brother. She watched as his face brightened up with a smile and remembered how she had promised to pay her friend Ngozi, for the cloths and accessories she bought a month before.

Ngozi; her friend with the sugar mouth. Ngozi was one of those friends whose philosophy was to buy that really hot dress now because you might never see it again. She always had the latest cloths and accessories from Dubai and Turkey.
Jane had tried different saving techniques in one year and every month, she swore she would do better the next month. Butbetween taking care offamily, to unexpected hikes in the cost of fuel, foodstuff and other necessary thingsthat had to be bought, there was always something to disrupt the plan. The last time she did a review, over N12,000 had been spent on airtime in one month and ‘chewing gum’had taken N3,000 off her spend-money. Drastic measures had to be taken.
Yesterday, she had seen something she decided would be the perfect motivation: an opportunity to save some money and win a car whiledoing so. The bold headline read:
