Reports of me decamping to PDP is laughable and absurd - Saraki

Senate President Bukola Saraki has described as absurd and laughable, rumors of him defecting to PDP from APC. In a statement he released today June 10th, Sen. Saraki said he left the PDP willingly and will not be going back there at this time when he's already in a ruling party.
"The new Senate President also denies that he had a plan to decamp to the People's Democratic Party, describing the insinuation as " absurd and laughable." According to him, "it is just cheap blackmail by political adversaries who want to call a dog a bad name in order to hang it. And those making such desperate allegations should remember that I willingly left the PDP on matters of principles when the party was in power. Is it now that the party is out of government and in opposition that I will now return having worked so hard for my party in the last general elections".

The Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has described President Muhammadu Buhari's reaction to Tuesday's election of National Assembly leaders as a "great mark of leadership" and a demonstration of the President's commitment to democracy. In a statement issued by his media office on Wednesday, the Senate President commended President Buhari for remaining steadfast in his commitment to the principle of non-interference in National Assembly politics even in the face of great pressure on him to act otherwise. "This shows that Mr. President is a man of great conviction who, in his own words, belong to everyone and to no one," the statement reads. In a similar vein, the new Senate President also denies that he had a plan to decamp to the People's Democratic Party, describing the insinuation as " absurd and laughable." According to him, "it is just cheap blackmail by political adversaries who want to call a dog a bad name in order to hang it. And those making such desperate allegations should remember that I willingly left the PDP on matters of principles when the party was in power. Is it now that the party is out of government and in opposition that I will now return having worked so hard for my party in the last general elections," he queried.
He stated his commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying he remains a loyal party member and a leader of the party, committed to contributing his quota to building the party and helping it to deliver its promise of change to Nigerian people. He urged all members of the National Assembly to put politicking behind them and settle down for the proper business of legislating. "Our country is going through a very trying times. We have the challenge of insecurity in the North East. The massive problem of youth unemployment and general economic challenges occasioned by the falling oil prices in the international market and the consequential fall in revenue. All these are coming against the huge public expectation that propelled our party into office. We have pursued our legitimate aspirations appropriately. Now that the issues have been settled, we need to move on in the larger interest of our people, without whose mandate we would not have been in a position to aspire to these positions in the first place." The Senate President stated his readiness to embrace every member of the Senate regardless of his or her political leanings in the leadership elections just concluded.

D-PinPionter Says: There is nothing laughable or absurd anymore in Nigeria. You politians have shown that your affiliations to political parties is a thing of personal interest, not a matter of principle or idealogy. So whether any of you is deflecting to another party or not, will not surprise us. Most of you are crooks.

It is a regrettable lugubrious, what is evil is when the rebellion is used to truncate a noble objective. The two men Saraki and Dogara, are rebelling against APC and Buhari’s determination to curb corruption in Nigeria and that is not a noble rebellion. The fact that they teamed up with a group of people already rejected by majority of Nigerians for corruption and mismanagement in order to realise their personal ambitions already proves, my point furthermore, Saraki’s uncomfortable body language during the coup at the senate chamber yesterday also indicated he knew he was on an evil mission. And has anyone listened to the speeches made by the two men after their ‘victory’? There is no mention of corruption war in their agenda even this very press statment he release. This evil onslaught on the common Nigerian must not stand. Saraki u must go.#

Very well said, and who ever does not like it can tender his or her resignation from the Senate, otherwise, suck it up and move on.
Tinubu and other APC hierarchies, deal with it and move on. You are here to govern and not drag for positions.
Your primary objective should be meeting the expectations of Nigerians and delivering on your campaign promises. ASAP!

Bukola Saraki, I dont if you know what the word integrity and honour stands for. so please stop trying to hoodwink Nigerians that you these attributes in you. You have demonstrated that your personal ambition comes before any national or party interest. In any case, you said "... I willingly left the PDP on matters of principles when the party was in power...". It is therefore in your character to repeat same and leave the APC nowthat they are in power, so that you can contest the Presidency under the PDP platform in 2019. That you gave the PDP another lease of life through what you did at the national assembly is very indicative of your overall intentions. It will be a pity for anyone who is naive enough not to see through you. I'm not surprised because you are part of our national corrupt part, and you surely want that status quo to remain at the expense of our nation. Soon, it will be obvious to all that Nigerians are really serious about this change that we have so much clamoured for. Never again are we going to the road of the ugly past Wait and watch!!!!

Bukola Saraki should not sweet-talk anybody. The way he went pursuing personal aspirations with respect to senate presidency was anti-party by approach. I am sure he re-played Tambuwal's tape when the later emerged speaker four years ago - a case of dog eats dog! I hope they are able to resolve it amicably. To PMB, he has to learn fast. Political mathematics is different from the conventional maths. Yes, he may belong to everybody but to say he belongs to nobody depicts political immaturity. After all, he 'independently' through ANPP and CPC tried severally in the past without success. He must not forget where and when he was beeten by the political rain of Nigeria. HE BELONGS TO APC AND ITS TENETS WHICH ARE BINDING. How does he want to effect the much-talked about CHANGE with PDP as leaders in NASS? More objective comments to follow.

The failure of APC to put its house in order before the NASS elections has plunged the party into a messy configuration. The party is now characterized by selfish interests, betrayals, divided loyalties which has precipitated mistrust, silent animousity and further deepen disunity amongst its members. APC sank the PDP ship only to stirr the waters into turbulence at the onset of its journey. The incident which resulted in the formation of a corrosive mix of leadership at the NASS is said to be "good for our democracy" or referred to as "democracy in action" by some school of thought. For me I tend to look carefully at people taking such assertive posture as to whether it's based on correct assessment or the inability to permutate correctly and foresee an impending political avalange which might hit the APC, its laudable manifesto as well as its presidential promises to Nigerians. On the other hand I understand the 'message' when I hear such assertion coming from the camp of the PDP and its followers. They simply portray a paradoxic view of their closeness to achieving or fully achieving their treachrous ambition of bringing down the APC, and proving to Nigerians that if the PDP is termed a failure in governance, then no party can succeed also. Meaning that governing Nigeria is rocket science, and to simply put it - that Nigeria can't be fixed as many had expected. In all of this, I sincerely wish PMB a bon voyage. #myopinion.

Loyal wetin, you put your selfish ambition before the party principles.
Other members will definitely want to follow that part and that's what lead to party's destruction.

Anyways, good luck with your new position

Saraki is a traitor that can't be trusted.how can you go plotting behind your own party, with the same people you left based on your so called principles?
