That airport is one of the best in Nigeria.
It is by far better than MMA.
The land mass around the airport is expansive, its not cost effective to tar the whole place.
There is sufficient room for expansion which is dependent upon air traffic to Asaba.
Dont jump into conclusions guys. Its not bad at all.

Y'all Remember that it's just a downgrade not shutting down... Normal activities will still be going on, just the type of aircrafts using their runway will be changed... smaller aircrafts like HS, Antonov, TB9, Amphibians, Gulf streams can still make use of the runway, but the big boys like Boeings wnt make use of the airport... if a boeing 737 can't takeoff and land in the airport, then u knw that commercial purposes will be crippled somehow

We've had flights cancelled severally just because of small harmattan. The run way isn't long enough and badly lit. Yet GEJ used it as part of his campaign records. Shame.
That airport has always been so they are talking now because the settlement wasn't enough for them to share during their campaign were they landing at the same airport while now theif theif people.
