An Arik flight that was scheduled to leave Abuja to Lagos by 2pm today kept being delayed until it was ready to leave by 9pm. When they were ready to go, the flight was overbooked. They sold more tickets than the number of seats that they have, leaving many passengers standing on the plane. In 2015, Arik Air! *sigh*!
But the aircraft hasn't left the airport as at the time of writing this report. Sokoto and Yola passengers went to block the aircraft from leaving because their flight that was supposed to leave for 9am today was canceled by 9pm. See more photos after the cut...

Stupid airline. And they had issues with their passengers travelling to London yesterday also. When it was time for them to leave the passengers they were meant to fly to London on Wednesday that they failed to carry and cancelled the flight without prior notice refused that the passengers travelling on Thursday would go b4 them. You need to see the chaos at the airpot yesterday Linda. It was messy. Arik just cancel their flights without even informing their passengers.

In as much as some of us appreciate your work , I strongly believe this is unfair reportage about Arik Air. Aviation standards, even locally, does not allow for "standing" or "attachment". A commercial airline will rather not fly with "excess" passengers when over booked, than allow passengers stand throughout the duration of a flight.

My dear linda, if you know how irresponsible Arik Airline is. Yesterday our flight was scheduled to leave Lagos to Ghana by 7.20am. As at 2.00pm when we got frustrated and left the airport, Arik staff were still uncertain as to when the plane would be ready for take off. Imagine! Its so unfortunate the way things are run in this country. The level of impunity is beyond human comprehension.

Since Arik has started this their international flight it has become something else.
I booked Arik air for my wife from Abidjan to Lagos scheduled for last week Sunday and Arik cancelled the flight without telling us many people have started checking in their loads before they told us that the flight has been cancelled going to their office to complain they told us that it has been cancelled since Saturday but even the airport authorities are not aware they went ahead to list the flight among the one scheduled for that day.
Finally on Wednesday they flew my wife after 4 hours delay. Arik is fond of flight delay and cancellation our authorities should please look into it.
Many Nigerians going back home on that Sunday was left stranded in the airport, because most of them have make arrangement to leave the country that day and short of cash to re-book hotel please help us make it a matter of issues for Arik to stop this national and international disgrace
