BBC reports that gunmen suspected to be members of Boko Haram this evening around 5pm attacked a security base in Buni Yadi, in Gujba LGA killing 24 officials. Residents of the area said the victims include 13 soldiers and 11 police officers and said the gunmen came in 10 Hilux vans, an armoured tank, and several
motorcycles.
BBC Hausa Service reports that the gunmen told residents of the area to stay
indoors as their target were the security personnel in the town.
The men then proceeded to attack the military base, a local government secretariat and burnt down several buildings.
