Following the consideration yesterday by the National Security Council of the report of the technical committee it set up to review fresh modalities for addressing security challenges in the North, President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the constitution of a Presidential Committee to constructively engage key members of Boko Haram and define a comprehensive and workable framework for resolving the crisis of insecurity in the country.
The Committee’s terms of
reference will include developing a framework for the granting of amnesty;
setting up of a framework through which
disarmament could take place within a 60-day time frame; the development of a
comprehensive victims’ support programme, and the development of mechanisms to
address the underlying causes of insurgencies that will help to prevent future
occurrences.
President Jonathan has also
approved the constitution of a Federal Government committee on the

Am in support of anything that will bring an end to this menace.
Its quite unfortunate that with the amount budgeted for security in this country, our govt still finds itself in a helpless situation on how to combat this evil.
This is going to be a virtuous circle, first was Niger delta militants, now boko haram, I guess next will be kidnappers.
while Obama at the other end is threatening to deal with the Bostonblast terrorists.
~BONARIO~says so via NOKIA3310
Na today...sluggish government and its zilch security approach.
He has given the BH problem back to the BH people to solve. One smart move from a perceived clueless President.
Weak president...all he knows best is to set committees...what a shame
Rubbish!!! is there a boston blast committee yet? is there a sitting allowance? #GEJ should please take a clue.....whats with all these committee he's been forming, what has it yielded? they just want sitting allowance....GEJ

I expect obama to do same for the boston bombers. What a country.SMH
More talk talk talk instead of action
this is super story..........................
In this season of anomy called amnesty, leaders of the south-east/south-south (and now Lagos State) should please stand up and demand that our very benevolent Federal Government should, as a matter of urgency, extend amnesty to all the kidnappers terrorizing fellow Nigerians in these axes. What Is Good For A Murderer Is Even Better For A Ransom-Seeker. Someone needs to save JEG from himself!!!
Na so so commitee, no action. This administration is a toothless bulldog. No action at all. When are we ever going to be proactive in everything we do.

Rosie Said.......Another wishy-Washy committie, where they will sit around, drink tea and get sitting allowances,Meanwhile Boko Haram and all other terrorist groups are busy killing and kidnapping people.Whoever told Jonatnan that you give amnesty to Murders? What a weak President.
Another committee upon all the previous committee that has been set up, another means of wasting public funds, is so glaring that this man is at a loss on how to handle the situatin of things in this country.is so so unfortunate that we have a weak fellow who can not take action or make decesions at the helm of Affair in this country, what a tragedy!
wishing them a happy boko haram day. let them be ready to give amnesty to repented robbers and rapist Enter your comment...
Will this eradicate boko haram?

I think Nigeria must hold the record for number of committees set up by a government.
I am tired of committees please lets tackle d issue
Fuck you, Goodluck!!
The only thing this committee is gonna get is sitting allowance!!!
Committee general of the federal republic,i hail o!
Our directionless president has just created avenue for a few Nigerians to make some small (biggest) dough. Let's see how it go. Nonetheless, majority of Nigerians have lost confidence in this government.
What about committee on satisfying his sexual urge. Baga
Abi oo
U talk am well ma fwend
Is this not so sad? I regretted the day i voted the red-nose president. The hausa comittee he arranged are d same boka haram. Seriously speaking, if i had d liver,i will swallow bomb, go straight to their gathering and explode there. Its also going to be painful if my country men and women forget d sacrifice done for them in a matter of hours.
Glad I'm from canada
Nonsense...
Its only committees our leaders are good at setting up, another position as irrelevant as that of the honourable members. I hope u have a committee for ur expedient hell journey truncation.

Did u really mean 'virtuous' or were u tryin to say 'vicious'??
i hope its not a committee to chop money....issorait!
Will you guys ever learn to stop saying rubish for once? Every one is on Jonathan as if he's nt a human being or perhaps he's now an Angel of God who has failed to perform. That's how it was said abt keshi. And when he worn the cup, they all gathered and celebrated. Pple want quick Magic, but dear friends it takes plan upon plan to build a good House. Thanks!!!
Anywhere,i don't care whether they grant amnesty or not,my concern now is 4 dem to put an end to all d crisses. But GEJ should realise dt alll d souls of victims of bomb blasts r clamouring and crying 4 justice!May deir souls rest in peace, amen.
Dumb
Jona and Commette
Lol this goodluck jonathan sef
@anonymous 11:50pm, is that u GEJ?
It is so dishearten to keep hearing about committees upon committees 'to attempt' to resolve outright problems. These so called boko haram people have said they don't want amnesty and they have given their unrealistic demands, so why waste time and money setting up a committee???
They can't fight the nation! Channel these monies to address the problems holistically....flush out the sect!!! They should be the ones begging for amnesty...
Another committee to chop money. #Issorite#
Every Bread is better dan none. Setting out a committee at least justify him a bit. Nigeria need prayers. Dis is not time for blames. He is a president after all.
Wish nigerians could flog this a**hole off the presidential sit he is just not compitent to handle naija problems.
Till pple finish dying that's when our president will act as commander in chief, when the boka haram second wil finish killing he is governing then he wil knw what to do,they second didn't ask for Amenesty y are they wasting there time?God help us in this country before we will all b consume by this evil pple looking for blood by al cost.
