The bizarre mix of Jeffrey Daniel, Yinka Davies and Charly Boy is what makes Nigerian Idol the show to beat.
There is the punk king Charly Boy whose antics have given a new name to shock therapy. We all have seen him working a power-bike, we've seen him with make up on and no less than false lashes. We've seen this 60 something year old cry shamelessly and remove his clothes when his favourite contestant left the competition and we have all seen him declare love for one of his contestants and he has begged contestants to slap him!
For Yinka Davies, in season one, this music diva’s strongest feature was her high spontaneous laughter or the way she used to say Aha! It appears that once she is excited, she lets rip one of her many verbal constructions. Here are a couple of her words: “you have dabarued everybody here.’ she told a dramatic performer. ‘You have flabbergastified the whole place’; she told another impressive performer. ‘Blaga bla bla’, she said, when she had no words to describe an excellent performance.
Jeffrey Daniel used to be the coolest judge of all on the show. Jeffrey is well known for his smooth talk and his calm advice to contestants, when Jeffrey says you’ve got it? You definitely have. These days, the Shalamar legend appears to have been bitten by the Charly Boy bug. Last weekend on the show, he warned viewers to vote for Mercy Chinwo. “If you don’t vote the right contestant in, he began, this is what will happen,”. Then he proceeded to rip off and chew the foam off his microphone to the delight of the audience.
These three are by far Nigeria’s craziest trio on TV.

Exactly where our problems begin and end. Charly boy just doesn't know where to draw the line. Yea,we get it,ure eccentric,gothic, and every other big grammar there is but wats wit goin wit a big snake to the auditions,always having a human skull in front of u. Wearing makeup that makes you look like something from the morgue ! That's a sad story right there.

Charly Boy is clearly there to provide an overdose of entertainment on the show. His theatrics aside, he gives good judgement and has shown a connection with the contestants. Frankly, I'm tired of watching only good music, on the side, we need drama and weirdness like Charly Boy. he is actually my favourite judge, when you put aside the make up of course ;-)

WTF is Yinka Davies a judge for anyway? I do not recall any album she has ever released, i'm not aware she's a producer, at best she's a failed musician so what is the basis of her judging those contestants? and yes she can be so irritating.
Charly boy is just an agbaya, unfortunately, he is unknowingly promoting the gay agenda in Nigeria. Just imagine hw many of such will be inspired to pursue that lifestyle bcos of the exposure he is currently getting.

I promised myself never to watch Nigerian Idol with Charles Boy on board as a judge. Season 1 was great but with what I am hearing about Season 2... I think the sponsors/promoters should take note because the this program is going downhill!

Nigeria Idol is full of suprises,i like watching the show because of the judges,Charly Boy always says the truth to the contestants,Yinka Davies' sweet voice,and my main man jeffery Daniel always goes straight to the point.
I always look forward to the show every weekend. Nigerian Idol adds colour to my Sunday evening, I think Jeffrey Daniel is so cool......!

The Nigerian Idol has an impressive set of contestants, and the guest judges have been cool. The judges try to add spice with their antics...overall good job.
Nigerian Idol judges have a lot of work on their hands cos the contestants are all good,most expecially my Mercy and Joe Blue.

these judges have a track record of excellence my broda! check their resume and you'll know what I am talking about. Yinka is one of the greatest living voices in Nigeria.( she never lip sings like those una fake stars) live band always on check and there's no dulling moment if you are at her concert, Jeffery is an international brand.. ever heard of Shalamar? this dude taught MJ how to moonwalk and he's a top song writer, talent scout, choreographer and producer .and area fada himself! he has proved himself as a top entertainer in naija.. remember the 1st comedy show on tv ( charley boy show) ? Remember tunde and wunmi obe? remember zoom time? remember Dr alban? these are just a few things he has achieved over the years... by the way, I never heard you complain one bit about the singing and their performance at Taruwa which the show is about.. I think the judges have left their jobs and have become attention seeking blokes. They hardly even point out the contestants' flaws even when its obvious. Being a musician doesnt make you a good judge. See the way they praise any singer that sings a song by one of the comrades of their era e.g. mike okri et al. Even when such a song is rendered poorly, they fail to point it out. Now the judges are all performing their songs! we want to see the contestants not you!
