Isn't it ironically pathetic that the Yorubas despite having the strongest Christian Clergies in the Country are still Neck/Head deep in traditional fetishness as compared to other tribes?
Some fucking contradiction, huh.

That's exactly the type of language used by Shakespeare . There is a "witching hour". I like to poke fund at awful English in these movies as well but on this occasion they didn't make an error

witching hour

Word Origin

noun
1.
midnight:
a rendezvous at the witching hour.

It is perfectly correct...there is nothing wrong about it. Witching hour is an hour when supernatural events are thought to occur, especially midnight.

"With a modern literal meaning of "midnight," the term witching hour refers to the time of night (3:00-4:00 am is commonly speculated) when creatures such as witches, demons, and ghosts are thought to appear and to be at their most powerful and black magic to be most effective."

Gawd! IGBO PEOPLE ARE SO ILLITERATE. Linda ur the perfect spokeswoman for that. witching hour is 12 am or 3 a.m. why u are so reluctant to stop being lazy is beyond me.

Anonymous said...

SMH for u linda. Of all d blunders u could have shown, in ur tribalistic rage u put up a translation dt is actually CORRECT! Illiterate fool. Now we all know u dont even understand english and ur correcting pple. LMAO!!!!

Madam Linda the word "WITCHING" is in your dictionary. Here it is ; witching(a)
(s) possessing or using or characteristic of or appropriate to supernatural powers; 'charming incantations'; 'magic signs that protect against adverse influence'; 'a magical spell'; ''tis now the very witching time of night'- Shakespeare; 'wizard wands'; 'wi!

Anonymous said...

Is witching hour 12 midnight or 3 to4 am na? You people need to agree.

Anonymous said...

You should move around more often. Yoruba won't even place 10th on a list of fetish dialects in Nigeria.

Don't you have English dictionary there you....ok agreed the phrase is wacky from what you wrote above so why can't you then give us correct phrase....Miss Lindolodo

Anonymous said...

Just checked thru my dictionary last night before seeing this here... Linda, the worst part is that you concluded on your own without even checking the English dictionary and now expose the truth that Yorubas really seek education much more than the Ibos.

Delta Truth said...

I hate to say this, tribalism and hate runs deep in the vain of the Igbos

Common sense would tell u d presence of one led to d "strong" clergies in d other but im sure ur question is rhetorical since ur disposed to tribal foolery.

History lesson. Islamic jihad took over northern nigeria way b4 d portuguese/british stepped on these shores. Christianity/Catholicism took over d south east/south south due to d predominance of d slave trade. The eboes were completely brainwashed of their culture in order to assimilate fast to their new american society. The yoruba slaves were mainly taken to d islands by d british & were not expected to assimilate to society since they were not in britain. Dt is why ifa religion is STILL practised all over d carribean islands and brazil today. D yorubas dt later became christians or muslims were mainly by CHOICE. Dt is why catholicism NEVER worked wt xtian yorubas, d revivals dt happened in d 40's & led some of our grandparents to christ had to demonstrate d power of God.

Question: Upon d prevalence of xtianity in d southeast, why is dt region prevalent wt drug pushing, 419, expert scammers, fraudsters, movie piracy, baby factories, stealing, sale of expired goods, fake products wt designer names slapped on, one chance, greed, arrogance and pride more dn any other tribe in d country? Some fucking contradiction, huh.

Don't mind them all..Knowledge is power, they all need to be informed. They're crying because it's coming from yoruba movie.Linda is a great hypocrite.

Anonymous said...

Anon don't mind these olodo people jare.
For a while there I thought nobody knew there is actually such a phrase as 'witching hour'! I blame Linda.
The translator in this case should be employed more as he/she gets it.

Anonymous said...

I swear linda and you guys are you dumb, the translation is correct, there is something called witching hour,With a modern literal meaning of "midnight," the term witching hour refers to the time of night (3:00-4:00 am is commonly speculated) when creatures such as witches, demons, and ghosts are thought to appear and to be at their most powerful and black magic to be most effective.

Unknown said...

OMG....who did this..if i catch that person en. looolz

Anonymous said...

This is actually correct. Linda should take a course in writing and reading as well. And a whole bunch of ignorant comments...sad

Anonymous said...

@Linda @Bonario ...you are the only reasonable guys worth replying... Haba!!! as learned as i thot u to be...u shoulda consulted your lex(archaic) before posting and commenting... the translation is CORRECT... took me like 3 seconds trying to figure the humor in it.

To all the ethnic bigots... the phrase "back to school" should kick in now.

Nearly all Nigerian movies (except for some exceptional few) are riddled with laughable errors....except hausa movies which stick to originality. so to say yoruba movies this n that is unjust. but the thing is they still make an effort (write a script and lets see how well u do).

I read some hateful ethnic comments and just marveled as d level of hate eastern people bear towards others. smh Y'all really need JESUS to comfort your wearied soul

Anonymous said...

You're absolutely right. I'm amazed at Linda's ignorance. There's even a book titled the witching hour by Ann Rice.

Anonymous said...

Linda Ikeji, be enlightened!!! Grab a book and read...if you like, don't post my comment.

Unknown said...

It's astounding how many people find fault in the translation. Shows how behind our educational system really is. Linda and all the others please grab a book once in a while.

Ah Linda I am so embarrassed on your behalf, I dont get why you find this funny. Let me help you small. "the term witching hour refers to the time of night (3:00-4:00 am is commonly speculated) when creatures such as witches, demons, and ghosts are thought to appear and to be at their most powerful and black magic to be most effective." got that on the internet. you could have just googled.
