Your right-we as a nation needs to change our mind set-treat one and another with respects and fairness.. Nigerian need to learn how to be humble and respectful of other- to us is all about class and money.
When we say "Oyibo" or "White Man" we are using racist language. The more polite words to use are "Expatriate" or "Visitor". Usually try and find out their names as quickly as you can and refer to them by Name or Job Title. Eg Mr Humphrey, Jackson George, John, Technical Analyst, Consultant, MD, Chief etc. By making expatriates feel at home you let them bring out their best. It is never nice to use racist language to insult or abuse anyone. It pays to be civil and cultured towards other people. Then they respect you more. Never feel ashamed to introduce yourself as a Nigerian. It is more polite than saying you are black, everyone can already see that. In the UK or U.S you would fare better by identifying your nationality since there are so many indigenous black citizens and foreigners there that are black like you. Humility and courtesy always bring their reward. Stay as color blind as possible but be aware that there are many foreigners that may be less educated or sophisticated than black foreigners in their home country.
