I MAY NOT BE THE RIGHT PERSON TO SAY THIS, BUT WHY ARE OUR NIGERIAN UNIVERSITIES NOT ADVERTISING FOR STUDENT FROM THE UK AND OTHER COUNTRIES THAT ARE COMING TO TAKE AWAY OUR FOREIGN RESERVES. CBN HAS EVEN PERMITTED PAYMENT OF FOREIGN SCHOOL FEES WITH FORM "A". HABA

I AM ATTENDING A WEDDING THIS WEEKEND, THE RECEPTION WAS AT THE HALL OF A SECONDARY SCHOOL IN LONDON. THE PRINCIPAL IS RENTING OUT THE HALL TO HELP SUSTAIN THE SCHOOL GOVERNMENT ALLOWANCES/STUDENT.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH OUR PEOPLE? LET OUR UNIVERSITIES ALSO ( I DARE THEM) ADVERTISE FOR UK CITIZEN STUDENTS.

Hi Linda, Would be really nice if you would stop giving your readers partial information or if you decide to give information to give the full details so you don't mislead people. You see studying in the UK is not the rosy ticket to the good life people think it is...To the contrary, The UK government over the last five years have changed their immigration policies so much that it in no way favours the hordes of Nigerians who go over there every year thinking that getting a UK degree means you can settle there. Aside for the affluent few, The time and money wasted in getting a UK degree can be put to better use setting up something for yourself in Nigeria or if you must travel, doing so in the US.

First of all, no matter how much you pay to study in the UK, new immigration policies require that as soon as your studies are done you must leave back to your country. Secondly, a report recently released on Sky news stated that the number of jobs available to UK graduates is so low right now that most have to take on jobs made for high school graduates even after leaving the university. Once again like I said earlier aside from the affluent few whose parents can place them in jobs with connections after graduation, and the very lucky 1% (I happened to be in that group) going to the UK to study will most likely not yield any return on investment.

So please Aunty Linda when you place this adverts for these UK schools on your blog, considering that you serve millions of Nigerian youths who might not read between the lines pls do us the favour and outline the pros as well as the cons..
