''I deserve this,'' he said ''It's a major flaw, and it's a guy who expected to get whatever he wanted and to control every outcome. And it's inexcusable. And when I say there are people who will hear this and never forgive me, I understand that. I do. That defiance, that attitude, that arrogance, you cannot deny it.''
Armstrong said he started doping in mid-1990s but didn't when he finished third in his comeback attempt in 2009.
''Have you made peace?'' Winfrey asked.
''No,'' Armstrong replied, ''because so many people have been hurt too badly, and a 40-minute (phone) conversation isn't enough.''

I remember one of my lecturers asked us to go look up Lance Armstrong and talk about his amazing comeback after his battle with testicular cancer. Seemed almost unreal that determination and sheer grit could get him all the Tour de France titles in succession.
I still believe determination played a major role in his fame. He must have been very determined to win cuz he managed to scale through the dope tests.

Sorry to say, and sincerely speaking, Lance is not saying his heart. I think he just said what the world wants to hear and just keep the truth to himself. It gets to a point where your name is dented that you cant even say it's not true, but just to tell them to go on. That is exactly what Lance has done!

So Lance Armstrong will now be remembered as Cycling biggest cheat instead of the best rider. This is a warning to upcoming athletes never to get into doping. Hard work and perseverance pays. Good Name is better than riches. One Clean tour D' France win is better than Seven soiled wins. If he could attain third position in 2009 cleanly, that means he would have be able to win at least one Tour D' France cleanly if only he worked hard enough. The coaches are also just as guilty as the doping athletes.
He knew his feat wasn't humanly possible. The authorities knew too but they just couldn't nab him. He devised the most sophisticated method of covering all traces in his system. But eventually, his trainer gave him up. Everyday for the thief, one day for the owner.

Lance did the right thing. A man whose conscience has not yet been seared will do what he has done. Lies or cheating may run for years but it takes only one day for truth to catch up.
