TRUE CITIZENS IS WORTH THE MILLIONS-ELVIS CHUKS( ACTOR,PRODUCER AND DIRECTOR)
WHAT INSPIRED TRUE CITIZEN?
My script writer, Kunle Salau broght it to my office as a family story in the original script concept and I sent it to script writing screening in South Africa. And the review was good and actually motivational for the youth, especially in places where youths has to struggle agaist all odds to stand out without soiling their hands. I said it is okay and I felt it will be good to use people that an average Nigerian will see as a role model. That is why we used the likes of Uti, Brian, Kenneth and Melvin. They are people every youth wants to be like. So with that we will be able to achieve the aim of the script, and at the same time pass the message to the youth.
WHAT WAS THE EXPERIENCE LIKE ON SET?
It was very interesting having all these people in one movie. People were like how did you do it? But we thank God , we are through with the production. We will hit the cinemas soon. We like the response so far and we believe that every Nigerian youth will have one or two things to learn from this movie.
YOU ARE WELL KOWN IN SUPER STORY, HOW DOES IT FEEL TO PRODUCE AND DIRECT?
I feel blessed. I feel blessed that I am ale to impact my genetation and the next generation. I do not see any difference being in front and behind the camera, what matters is the desire and drive and love you have for what you do. That is what make the difference.
TELL US THE SECRET BEHIND YOUR SUCCESS?
Knowing what you want, getting the right people to interpret whatever role. People who are going to see this movie will marvel at the actors displaying their skills. They would be shocked with what they would see.
HOW MUCH DID IT COST YOU TO PRODUCE THIS MOVIE?

HOW MUCH DID IT COST YOU TO PRODUCE THIS MOVIE?
I can’t tell because we spent close to two months in location. So, I have lost count of how much we spent on the movie. Uti has to go for JARA show, so you can imagine how patient to shoot and slowly getting the interpretation. The lead character, Clara came in from London. So I have lost count of how much I actually spent really.
WOUD YOU SAY IT IS WORTH IT?
Yes, it is in the sense that we are putting the fresh breath of air in the movie industry by bringing up this fantastic people. Take a look Brian Okpara in I WILL TAKE WY CHANCES when I wathed it at the cinema, I was really immersed. So , having this young actors who have so much to offer and the best thing to do is to give them that platform to express their God giving talent.
WHEN IS IT COMING OUT?
True Citizen is coming out to the cinema on April 6, that Is Good Friday. It would be in cinemas in lagos, Abuja and port Harcourt.

IT IS A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE-MELVIN ODUA
CAN YOU MEET YOU?
My name is Melvin Odua. I am from Delta State, a ggraduate of industrial Chemistry from the University of Port Harcourt. I can describe myself as a young, talented, dedicated person.
HOW IS LIFE AFTER GUS 6?
It has been awesome. We thank God for everything. Youth in Nigeria have the culture of moving on to achieve certain things. So far, so good. It’s been for me.
For instance, the productin we just finished, TRUE CITIZEN coming to the cinemas soon. It’s just a stepping stone for me. A lot of special things will be coming out from me soon.
IS THIS YOUR FIRST SHOT IN THE MOVIE INDUSTRY?
No, this is not my first shot. I delved into movie when I featured in HAPPY FAMILY. Though it is a soap opera, that was my first major work and I got a lot of support. That is what me into limelight.
ANY AWARD SO FAR?
Yes. I actually just won an award recently.
HOW DID YOU GET THE ROLE YOU PLAYED IN TRUE CITIZEN AND WHICH PARTICULAR ROLE DID YOU PLAY?
After I did happy family which is a soap opera an also won an award through it, I called for the casting and I met up to the demand. I was given the script, when I got it, I went through it and took it as something. I just have to do and I put in everything that I have to make it work. I played the role of Akpo.
Akpos is a footballer, he is a jester and also known for his unserious attitude. The good thing about Akpo is that no matter what he wants in life and I believe that particular character fit into my life style personally. I, make people laugh but at the same time, I know when to keep my head straight, when to loosen up and to keep tight.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE EXPERIENCE?
The experience is wonderful. Being in a production where you have so much young talentend guys around and good director who is very understanding. It is a wonderful experience.
WHAT IS THE SECRET OF YOUR SUCCESS?
My success is based on only one thing and that is God. He has been seeing me through all this while and has never turned back.
WHAT HAVE BEEN THE PAINS AND GAINS SO FAR?
Definitely there have been pains. You know climbling this ladder, there are lot of things involved. When you need something and at the end you don’t get it, it’s going to be very painful and when you look at it that you put a lot of resources, those are major pains invoved. The gains is the fame and the popularity that comes with it, and the fact that people appreciate what you are doing.
WHAT HAS LIFE TAUGHT YOU?
Life has taught me that you oght to achieve what you want to achieve, even when you are looking at it. it has taught me patience, tolerance and endurance.

TRUE CITIZENS CHANGED MY PERSPECTIVE ABOUT POLICE- KENNETH OKOLIE( MR NIGERIA 2010)
HOW HAS LIFE BEEN AFTER MR. NIGERIA AND MR. WORLD FAME?
I hakve been very busy. It has been a blissful experience. I am an actor, a model and I run my own event management company. The pageant has given me a platform to make some dreams come true.
WHAT HAS BEEN THE PAINS AND GAINS SO FAR?
I have lots of gains because I have landed so many movie roles. I have landed good jobs and I’ve started my own firm. It’s been a lot of achievements.
YOU ARE ONE OF THE CASTS OF TRUE CITIZEN, HOW DID YOU CLINCH THE ROLE?
True Citizen is a very intelligent movie. It’s a great story that relates to the situation in the society. I acted the role of Solomon who was a police officer and you know the police officer has a bad reputation here in Nigeria. Sincerely, prior to the role, I didn’t like the police. Although, among many there are few bad eggs. I portrayed their reputation. They are also called to serve and there are good ones among the bad eggs. These are the good citizens we are celebrating.
HOW EXACLTLY DID YOU CLINCH THE ROLE FOR THE MOVIE?
Maybe due to the numerous roles I have done, I got an audition for the movie. And I was told to play the role and I did it fine and the rest is history.
HOW WAS THE EXPERIENCE?
It was challenging but fun. I have to go to the office on week days and go for rehearsals on weekends. It was challenging, and if you watch the movie, you will discover I have lost a lot of weight. But it was worth it. I am grateful for the producer for giving the chance to act in the movie. The experience was sweet because it brought young and vibrant achievers together to project a vision worthy of emulation in the society.
WOULD YOU SAY YOUR PERSPECTIVE ABOUT POLICE HAS CHANGED?
Yes,it has. When I see them now,my heart goes to them because I understand the rigours they go through everyday.

And I suppose say you go school you wey dey comment. You do not even know that there is a difference between 'its' and it's' abi? Educated but illiterate. Igbophobia will eat you up, you cretin. I suppose Alex Usifo if Ibo too, right? Or perhaps your inability to read made it impossible for you to understand that the script writer is not Ibo? By the way if you are so agitated what stops your poverty ridden pocket from producing a film where you'll cast your own tribe's men? It's not possible because you're intellectually deficient to come up with an idea that can interest the simplest of persons, talkless of a script. You better take to the back seat of life, you miserable primary 6 drop out looser.

THE STORY OF ‘YEFON’ ....

Written by 22 year-old African actress and filmmaker Sahndra Fon Dufe, ‘Yefon’ is the story of a young woman who defies her village’s customs to learn how to read and become educated only to face a death sentence as a result.

Inspired by women around the world who have faced similar circumstances, Ms. Fon Dufe and her production team have pledged to use a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the film, companion documentary, books and related merchandise to build an all-girls’ school in Nso, the village in Cameroon where Yefon’s story takes place.
