15 houses razed, family of five wiped out in tanker fire in PH

Some houses affected                                          Gov Amaechi of Rivers State at the scene of the accident

About eight people, including a family of five were killed while sleeping in their homes after a petrol tanker driver lost control of his tanker, spilling its content and bursting into flames.

The sad incident took place around 4am yesterday morning along the Igwuruta round about in Port Harcourt. Several other residents in the area sustained first degree burns, including the tanker driver and all are receiving treatment in the hospital.

More than 15 houses and at least four cars were razed in the fire. It was eventually put out by the Rivers State Fire Service that arrived at the scene two hours after the fire started. The Rivers state government have promised to compensate the families that lost loved ones in the inferno and also assist burn victims.

The driver was probably drunk or fell asleep. Another incident that could have been avoided if the frsc was actually doing their job. Well may the souls of the departed RIP

Instead of FRSC to try and avoid accidents as such, they are scheming on how to make Nigerians even poorer, and those firefighters...that was just bad...May the feet of the righteous hold off the coming of the storm.
