Is Walmart coming to Nigeria? Pictured above is
Gov. Ambode receiving the President & C.E.O. of Walmart - Europe,
Middle East, Africa & Canada at Lagos House, Ikeja
See BIG BOYZ! Ka! God punish poverty and oga governor biko do and pay ur contractor's. Aha! U want to kill poor worker's b4 u settle them or wht? Hiss!
God can't we create our own just copy their concept come here and do similar thing there are people with great minds in Nigeria but no capital. Please create our own oooo chai
Wow.. I pray Walmart comes to Nigeria... it makes more sense than shoprite... Hmm... I was hoping to bring the company as a franchise .to Nigeria... hmm... *sadface*
OMG Nigerians have to say a BIG NOOOOOO to this!!! Don't let Walmart come into Nigeria. They are bad business for the locals!!! BAD NEWS! All Nigerians will become is Modern Slave. We have entrepreneurs who are working hard to make it. Don't let yourselves become modern day slaves.
Yes, they are coming to Lagos. And the plan is to kick people out of Alade market. I heard they have or are arranging getting Alade market people moved to another location.
Walmart already has operations in Nigeria. It would be recalled that Wallmart bought 51% stake in Massmart of South Africa which operates two outlets of GAMES with the third one to be opened soon.
Walmart already have a subsidiary called Game. They bought Game an SA entity some years back. so its either the name Games dies or is replace to Walmart.
Oh puh-lease! How much "African solidarity" do the South Africans accord us? If anything they take us for granted! Let Walmart come in. Competition is good!
Fyi....for those that don't know. Walmart has been in Nigeria for a while as The Game. That's how they test out business. The Game is another name Walmart goes by.
They dont have to be. Nigeria has the population. Uk is far less than our population but they have soo many shops around most settlements. It will create jobs competition and price slash where we get value for money.
ode. They can both operate cos theyre 2 different companies selling different products. Philip green owns topshop, ms selfridge , dorothy perkins and marks and spencer. Theyre all selling in d same countries targeting different niche markets.
I pray my people get education. See how we are welcoming what is bad for us! This is not good news. What we have is foreigners moving in to capitalize on our market. All profits are shipped out to the usa, meanwhile workers in Nigeria will be paid minimum wage. Importation of usa products will spike, flooding our markets which will then hamper our indigenous producers. You young people, you think that is good for you? What you need is money which will stay in the country! We need youngsters like you to start YOUR own walmart. How can Nigeria allow this? Meeting with governors as though it will change Nigerians lives, meanwhile in the long run we are worse off and they are enjoying and exploiting us. Nawa. Even oyibo pple shine eye for walmart. The swiss still haven't let them in. They protect their markets. Then we the un-educated fools open our legs and invite them to rape us. #i don tire for this country
Can't we support shops like Ebeano and the likes rather than allowing Walmart come and take away our money. If we can only be like India that supported TaTA motors that it was able to buy jaguar and Range Rover. Let's protect our own enough with slave mentality.
Our government is Pathetic. Why are we killing our local markets. We bring all these conglomerate superstores here and our locals who largely r enterprenuers dealing with these kinds of goods die. Meanwhile we complain of no work. The local markets are not selling anything again. we think we r living well. We r not? Walmart wanted to get into India, cos their locals r just like ours owning small shops, the India government refused their coming in. It will kill their economy. Small busnesses will die. This is not good for us. We dont want them here. Im sure im talking to brickwalls. Go to Alade Market, Ikeja they r no longer selling cos of Shoprite a stone throw away.
