A few weeks ago, a Facebook account called 'Where is Rev Anita Oyakhilome?' was created by an anonymous member of Christ Embassy
International where they insinuated that all was not well in the holy matrimony of Pastor Oyakhilome and his wife of many years, Rev. Anita.
In the Facebook page, Pastor Oyakhilome was quoted as saying that there were problems in his marriage because of his wife's attitude. Speaking with his UK-based pastors and deacons at the church Bermondsey branch office on May 16th, pastor Oyakhilome allegedly said;
"I am here for your concerns about the ongoing domestic issue with my wife and I know it affects you directly, being the ones under her leadership.
“Some pastors’ wives think when they marry a pastor, they are equal to the pastor. My wife thinks so. As a matter of fact, Rev. Tom was her pastor before I married her and Rev. Ray and Evang. Owase were her leaders long before I married her. How come she thinks she’s senior to them now? I already started Christ Embassy before I married her. I didn’t marry her and said we should start Christ Embassy. I was already ‘pastoring.’ I already set my sail and knew my direction before I married her. I only said ‘come and help me.’ Continue...

Reacting to this quotes and reports, someone from the Church who spoke with a Punch reporter said "There are issues, yes, but the Facebook post is an absolute fallacy."
Another church member who identified herself as Pastor Mercy, said the report was false. "It is not true; it is a rumour. All these things are make-up stories.”

I don't know how true this story is but it sounds like something he can say. I have listened to Pst Chris messages and have also heard him give advise on marriage matters. He is a strong believer of "the woman was created by God as a help meet and not an adviser".... He mentioned several times in his teachings that the woman has NO say in the home. She can only suggest to her husband as she is not his mother or boss or sister... Don't get me wrong, being submissive is good but his teachings on this subject are so extreme. I am a man and to an extent I would like my wife to be able to freely voice out her opinions, I don't treat my wife like she's less of a human being becos she's a woman (NEVER). As a general overseer's wife she is almost not know, not active like other females in his church and definitely not recognised as the "mama" if Christ Embassy. Bottom line, he believes the woman has little or no say in a home. I've spoken with a few ppl in his church and they don't quite agree with him on this issue. See ehn first of all Pastor chris doesn't talk that way this is all rumor and a way for linda ikeji to make money she herself knows it's a lie but she still trying to make money out of it why not focus on what God has for each and everyone one of you and stop listening to nonsense. Pastor chris is a man whose foundation is the word of God and it's has made him who he is today so all this stories are just bloody rumors.
If u guys dont believe, then i find it so funny. Pls ask urselves, y is Pastor Chris, for a long time now, NOT seen wit his wife in church or elsewhere? I mean just ask dis honest question pls. A man of his status should be proud and happy having his wife around him always, abi i lie?.
