Cadbury Bournvita Holds Nutrition Seminars Across Nigeria

Nigeria’s leading food drink – Cadbury Bournvita – has launched a series of important nutrition seminars as part of an initiative to improve awareness in the country. Entitled ‘The Importance of Nutrition’, the ‘Cadbury Bournvita Nutrition Seminar’ started rolling out in the South East of Nigeria. Please continue...

“Good nutrition is very essential to everyone, especially growing children, as it is linked directly to their mental and physical growth and wellbeing,” said Dr. Chika Ndiokwelu, Head of Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital in Enugu, at the seminar in Umuahia. “Proper nutrition also supports the United Nations ‘Millennium Development Goals which focus on the eradication of poverty, hunger and malnutrition, as well as on improving maternal health and reducing child mortality,” added Dr. Ndiokwelu.

The seminars are being attended by many health and nutrition stakeholders, including doctors, nurses, midwives, principals, school teachers in physical and health education, and other health professionals. They are being held in locations including Onitsha, Umuahia, Owerri, Port Harcourt, Calabar and Uyo.

The seminars follow Cadbury Bournvita winning endorsement in May from the Nutrition Society of Nigeria (NSN) as a food drink rich in energy and essential micronutrients. Cadbury Bournvita is the only food drink endorsed by the pre-eminent group of nutritional experts in Nigeria which includes industry practitioners, academia, regulators, researchers, and consultants. The NSN is also taking part in the ‘Cadbury Bournvita Nutrition Seminar’ series.

“The Cadbury Bournvita Nutrition Seminar series is aimed at helping to educate people and creating more awareness on nutrition in society,” Cadbury Nigeria Plc. Marketing Manager Chioma Afe said. “The Nutrition Society of Nigeria is a part of the seminar to help communicate the importance of good nutrition and helping society live in a healthier way.”

A giant lie. This and most products calming to be fortified with vitamins are lies I assure you guys.Am saying this because am very certain.I would not mention names of companies involved, this is it,I returned home a year back, a friend was doing a study on food products in Nigeria,so she pleaded that on my way back to school I help get some product from home, which I did.He is a organic chemist but am not,she and her team investigated in the lab, sadly sadly enough the product tested negative to most of the nutrients it claimed it had, and some nutrient had less than 2 percent, which of sourse can't be effect when consumed, and this products claimed it had values like 30 percent blablabla and stuff.Every one in that lab was in shock at the discovery. My advice to every one,pls ignore the nutritional content of products back home, ensure you get your vitamins from other natural sources or supplements, mothers take note for sake of your babies and growing kids.I don't know what our food agencies are doing,we have very dishonest people that has authorized this product, even when aware the products lack standard, they have sold their soul for money.Shame on all you.
