Anonymous said...

Linda where's d video? Sleep dey ya eyes?

This is the best example of how not to be president. Goodluck Jonathan, what a President!

Anonymous said...

Im so tired.. whats he saying?
about she can ask any one on the streets of Lagos and they would testify power improvement ? Really? on the streets of Lagos? Really? Till tomorrow, I still wonder how this man got into power... it baffles me. Our president cant even defend himself. He had absolutely nothing worth listening to say. Im so sad.

Anonymous said...

I cover my face in shame. Does this guy have handlers at all? His responses are so pedestrian. Oh My homeland I weep for thee!!!

Anonymous said...

Well linda,it may interest you to know that some idiots will find another way to interpret what ever GEJ says, even he keeps quite, they will talk and interpret it in the version that suits their blog and twitter accounts...He did not lie in any way..

★★PRINCE CHARMING™★★ said...

Our president was fidgety and lacked confidence, everyone can't be an orator like Obama though. Although he was wise enough by diplomatically answering some questions he dodged too many key questions.
The BIGGEST lie of the interview was when he promised Amanpour that by the end of the year, electricity will be reasonably stable. Na wa o... I just laugh at that!

Anonymous said...

of course he's lying! he doesn't have the presence of a president and his responses were senseless! how can this weak man be our president??

Anonymous said...

Jonathan is a mad fellow.

Anonymous said...

What an embarrassment and ridiculous embodiment of a leader/statesmen

Anonymous said...

This man is a bag of shit. How can a phd holder say this. I can swear he only has a HND. bt wait, u guys shud luk at d kind of timid human being leading 150m people, a man that cannot lead his own hous. Nigerians will bleed since they said they voted for Jonathan and not PDP. Its in the bible. My people perish for lack of knowledge. How can Nigerians vote a man bcos he had no shoes. I am ashamed to be nigerian

Anonymous said...

I have never been in support of Jonathan but I think visible progress has been made as regards electricity. We may not be where we are suppose to be, but we are definitely not where we use to be.

Corruption is one area that has not witness any measure of fight from this government. It will take Jesus with a whip for corruption to be chased out. It has taken a mad turn, people steal now as if its a task that must be accomplished, it is now a competition of who can out steal the other. May God give us the grace to purge ourselves. Amen

Anonymous said...

This Mr. President. My goodness! How did he get a PhD? There is nothing intellectual about this man, based on his response to Christiane's questions. It's a shame!

Anonymous said...

Pple r saying didn't u watch it msheeeeew

Anonymous said...

all i see is fear,a man who cant even stand for himself when interviewed cannot stand for a nation, its a pity

Anonymous said...

The president did not lie. The western world have this jaundiced view of Nigeria which is made worse by the ever nagging Nigerians on social media. As per the president's response on electricity, which Amanpour claimed to be worse off, the president categorically clarified that this is a sector that the populace are happy with its ongoing reform. As Nigerians,we need to the negativity about the country that we churn out which the international community uses to deride the country

Anonymous said...

he appears more confident now ..Thank God.

Unknown said...

I am ashamed of the so called president who can't even answer the questions in a straight clear sentences. I think it time for Nigerian youths to take up the affair of the nation.

Anonymous said...

Can't see any vid linda. HELP!!!!!!!!

Unknown said...

I think the president is not a true picture of Nigerian and he should go and training on public speaking.

Anonymous said...

The president should have stated the figures. Before his government, power was around 2000mw. Since his govt, power generation has risen to 4000mw. Even though that's not enough to meet our needs, it's far better than what we had before. So the president did NOT lie. Shikena

Same here! Can't see the video

The President did not lie...I live in Gbagada area of Lagos and we have stable power supply now more than before...All of you castigating the President that he lied, Please tell us where you live in Nigeria...Some of you are IDIOTS.
Didnt you you people realize that when GEJ told Amanpour that the stoling crude oil are being Refined in Foreign Refineries and she quickly end the interview?... If America can intercept Ship carrying illegal weapon/arms, why cant they help Nigeria in fighting foreigner that connive with Nigerians to steal our Oil? Because they benefit somehow from the loot.

Nigerians who have nothing to offer when given the chance will interpret this interview in many versions that suits their own view, for me he did not lie in any way,he answered the questions more in a diplomatic ways...

Anonymous said...

i dont think our president did bad, he answered the questions to a reasonable level and you cant blame him for his lack of eloquence he was cold. didnt you guys see the air he was breathing out. We need to put a stop to criticising our country and president too much, doesnt tell good of us Nigerians as a person

Olu said...

I think Jonathan did relatively well in this interview. Jonathan needs to hire people that will be dressing him up to make him look presidential so that he can look like somebody with power and authority. Also he needs to be looking straight ahead whenever he is being interviewed. Looking down on the ground makes him look as if he is a weak leader with no purpose and direction. He came out looking as if he is a meek and 'rain beaten' individual in this interview. But we need to look further than that. It is true that the problem we face as a nation is a big massive problem. It will take us years if not centuries to correct them. But Jonathan needs to make some progress. We know he wont solve all the problems but he needs to start doing serious things to tackle some of the problems.
It is also true that all the crude oil and Dollars being stolen from Nigeria are being sold and kept in Europe and USA. So, what is the government of those countries doing to stop it than just criticizing? How many Nigerian's politician are in jail in Europe and USA despite the fact that all our are politicians are thieves? Only 1.
I am not a fan of Jonathan though i pray that he succeed in tackling some of our problems.I agree with him that it takes time to correct all our problems. But Jonathan has to start doing things. He needs to stop all the traveling abroad and sit down at home and do something or else he is going down as the most useless, senseless and directionless president ever in Nigeria. May God help Jonathan to see reason and start working.

IS POVERTY AN EXCLUSIVE RESIDENT OF THE 19 NORTHERN STATES? ARE THERE LACK OF POOR PEOPLE IN THE SOUTHERN STATES? DOES WESTERN EDUCATION PROMOTE POVERTY? WILL THE NORTH BECOME RICH BY BLOWING UP SCHOOLS LIKE IT HAPPENED TODAY IN MAIDUGURI? DO BOMB MAKING TECHNOLOGY COME FROM A POOR BRAIN? Brand positioning is important to any organization or country....we need firm and confident men on that seat, people who can hold their heads up and tell the world..."yes, we have a problem but we are working on our problems, just like every other country" Jonathan is a joke!!

Shut up!!!!!! Who is the idiot??? I don't have electrictity at home right now as I type, I didn't have it at 11pm to watch the lili-livered weakling's interview on CNN, so who's the idiot now??? And mind you I live in this same Lagos with you. If you want to the defend the numb-skull retard, feel free to but don't label anyone an idiot here. Only God and that waste of flesh, bones and few drops of blood called jonathan know who sold his phd degree to him and why! Meanwhile linda, I can't still see any video. Imagine thousands of people cursing this man daily; many this night have wished death upon him just becos of this interview. I don't even need to watch it to know he lied, he's ALWAYS shifty, a major characteristic of an unseason weak liar!

Anonymous said...

I LIKE GEJ AS A PERSON BUT THERE ARE TWO THINGS I NOTICED ABOUT HIM, HE EITHER LACKS KNOWLEDGE OF THE NIGERIAN PROBLEM OR HE LACKS THE WILL TO RESOLVE IT. YOU CAN'T JUST CLAIM YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO NIP CORRUPTION OR HOW TO HASTEN YOUR SO CALLED POWER SECTOR REFORM, HE SHOULD ALSO TRY TO BE ELOQUENT AND CONFIDENT. BY THE WAY THE PRESSURE ON THE YOUNG MAN IS TOO MUCH.

Anonymous said...

Dumb answers. Doubt if this guy even has a Master's degree let alone PHd. Shame dey catch me watching the Nigerian president speak. And he did obviously lie about electricity. Commander in Thief

Anonymous said...

Don't join d bandwagon,I hate jonathan but it is a fact that power generation increased from 2,500mw to about 4,700 and poverty is not always d cause of terrorism, abdul mutalab and osama were born wealth and affluence

President Goodluck Jonathan told Christiane Amanpour matter-of-factly that the ordinary Nigerian in the streets is happy with the government in their efforts to improve power. And then Amanpour told him of tweets she received from Nigerians praying they have power to watch the interview. He then managed a more relaxed tone, saying we can't solve the power problem "overnight." That by the end of this year, Nigerians will experience a reasonable improvement.

NYC-1 says: This is what happens to a man who is used to scripted questions. See how he is floundering to answer simple questions. Now lets dissect: First point of correction to a nervous man: You are suppose to assure the Nigerian people of steady electricity, not Amanpour. Perhaps, you spewed that nonsense for an easy way out. Second, since you did not challenged what your finance minister said; you even went to the extent of identifying the crooks, how come you are calling on the international community to help you prosecute the oil companies? Is it that Nigeria has no justice system? Third, you double mouthed about BK, and could not accept the truth that Nigeria Police go and kill innocent people claiming it is Bk people they killed. Fourth, I do not understand the premise you were making when you said the problem of power cannot be solved over night. For goodness sake, you have been there for about 4 years and there is no sign of any meaningful effort being undertaken. OK, we will have patience until the end of your tenure. What about corruption? Bankole, Ibori, Bode George, Orji Kalu, etc happened under your watch, and none of them were found quilty amidst glaring evidence of corruption. Your only hunt your political rivals for corruption. Mister selective justice. Finally, Jonas' blood pressure was rising and did not depict the picture of one who is a multi billioner by means of allocations and corruption.

Anonymous said...

the only thing I saw in that interview was Goodluck Jonathan's BIG NOSE covering half of the tv screen and puffing out smoke (or cold air)....everything else was incoherent, glib, and down-right unintelligible!!!
It's hard to understand someone that can't speak eloquently...even a president of Nigeria?! #SHAME#

I don't know what people want from Jonathan.Yea, we all know he is notan orator like the likes of Bill Clinton, Barrack Obama, Martin Luther King. He actually did well. She actually did swallow hard there..

I did not watch the video. But, whatever the case, we need to use the lessons in every experience to improve our lots as a nation. Focusing on the positives and working on the negatives shall get us past our problems. Above all, we shall never accomplish anything if we play with JUSTICE. So, the key questions in all circumstances should be: Do we decide our leaders as a nation or we have them forced on us by some priviledged few? Do these leaders do the biddings of all nigerians or work for a different interest? Do we hope, pray and work for the greatness of this nation in every little way we can at all times? Will we always churn sentiment and stand by the truth in every situation? As leaders and followers do we apply the questions above to ourselves at all times?

Anonymous said...

Well they all lie, don't they? I am sure you will tell us Obama doesn't

Anonymous said...

Where is d video for fucks sakes??

Anonymous said...

You took the words out of my mouth Olu. I didn't bother to watch the interview as I don't expect anything worthwhile of GEJ or a system that thrives in mediocrity.

However, I've long said the West often speaks with two voices. Why do monies from corrupt governments end up in their banking systems without prosecution of looters?

If the West can fight terrorism, intercept narcotics and freeze proceeds of its sales, clamp down on ivory trade, blood diamonds, illegal arms trade etc then they can equally stem the tide of crude oil theft which obviously ends up in their refineries with proceeds used to fund militancy resulting in unstable governments, disruptions in the global crude market and ultimately global economy.

Did they come from heaven with all that money or wealth, sorry to say this that some of our parents are thieves.they stole these money from the government purse and they called it national cake.e.g. the police training collage in Lagos did the school just go bad in one day, for years it has been like that and I believe money is been allocated to that place every year, but one fat cow dey somewhere dey chop d money with im fat children who are now twitting about GEJ,your father awarded the electricity project to JOE Nigeria limited which is his own company and did nothing, eat d money, Let's remove the mote from our own eyes first before we tell others to, if am lying somebody should say so

Well said Mr president.I rightly agree with you on the issue of crude oil being bought and refined abroad by foreign refineries. The American govt will not claim they know nothing about all that is happening and yet they want corruption to be stopped in Nigeria overnight.Let them first of all stop the rot in there govt system by not patronizing in stolen crude then we can adjust ourselves as a nation. It is time we all stop blaming president Goodluck Johnathan but rather encourage him for the little he has done.Power as far as we all are concerned was a forgotten issue in Nigeria. This is something he met at a thousand plus megawatts and now it has gone up to 4,000megawatts which we can all agree that it is improving by the day.Common lets give this man a credit. From a concerned Nigerian.

I think u should speak for urself, cos for a week now I avnt seen light in dis part of nigeria, and as for yall talking about constant light in ur area, maybe that has been the only significant improvement u can account for under jonathans era but av u measured it up with the with wrongs going on in +h¬ society to see if he should really be praised , quote me any where but this tenure is the worst tenure ever, first from outrageous increase in nepa bills to the subsidy removal, to bokoharam, to bad govt facilities. Some of u need to visit some parts of nigeria to know the reality of this country, 70 percent of nigerians are suffering, 70percent live from hands to mouth not knowing what tomorrow holds but believing tomorrow wld be better, people hawking just to make a living n yet they can't even point to one significant benefit they are getting from the govt, the present light improvement yall are screaming about av u forgotten abt the outrageaous increase in bills that it came with, and also the inequality in +h¬ the bills, some people get bills of 1k whille some get bills of 15k in same strt using the same gadgets, in some cases more gadgets...plz let's get our priorities together and know wht we are figthing for, I didn't watch the interview cos there was no light. The high time we know what we want the better, cos tomorrow when jonathan starts campaining and bragging abt how he has improved power distribution in +h¬ country, it is nigerians like you that will be gullible enough to praise him n say he has dome sumthing significant and then vote foR him the second time.

Nigerians are the one destroying this country,Goodluck didn't say power was good in Nigeria,he said that's one area they are working on and it can not be done overnight. Some villagers don't complain about electricity, you don't expect to live in lagos where there are so many industries and you want power to be constant overnight,it takes time. When i was in Nigeria,i had light for a month without a blink and that only proves that change is coming.

You guys should grow up and stop this insults.

This is d dumbest excuse I have ever heard frm a lazy, corrupt fool who calls himself presodent!
We have three refineries in Nigeria for crying out loud! Why r they not functional??
Why do our ppl send crude oil to other countries to refine and then they send it down and sell it at exhorbitant prices in Nigeria?
Who r the ones stealing this crude oil? Fuck this idiot!

Before you comment on his answers THINK, before you Rush to INSULT the OFFICE of THE PRESIDENT be Rational and SINCERE. HE WAS COMPLETELY RIGHT, THE ENERGY SECTOR WOULD TAKE TIME TO TRANSFORM. THE QUESTION you ALL SHOULD BE ASKING IS, HIS HE MAKING ANY EFFORT? OBAMA HASN'T BEEN ABLE TO TRANSFORM AMERICA OVERNIGHT, IT'S STILL A STRUGGLE IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. DON'T JUST COME ON THIS BLOG AS EDUCATED & UNEDUCATED ILLITERATES SPILLING HATE. THAT WON'T TAKE NIGERIA ANYWHERE OR SOLVE NIGERIANS PROBLEMS. WATCH HIS SPEECH AGAIN & LISTEN CAREFULLY, HE MADE A *BOLD PROMISE ON CNN LAST NIGHT* THAT WE ALL CAN HOLD HIM ACCOUNTABLE FOR. HE SAID.. & I QUOTE, "THAT BY THE END OF THIS YEAR, NIGERIANS WOULD SEE A VISIBLE IMPROVEMENT IN THE POWER SECTOR". NOW THAT's A STATEMENT/PROMISE WE CAN ALL HOLD HIM ACCOUNTABLE FOR, GOD KEEP EVERYONE OF US ALIVE. NIGERIA'S PROBLEMS STARTED MORE THAN 50YEARS AGO.. & JONATHAN HASN'T BEEN IN POWER FOR THE LAST 50YEARS. OBASANJO WHO MADE BOLD PROMISES & SERVED FOR 8YEARS DIDN'T DO MUCH EITHER. IT's A GOOD THING WE ALL CAN EXPRESS OUR OPINIONS WITHOUT HEARING A SUDDEN KNOCK ON OUR DOOR LIKE THE MILITARY REGIME.. BE REALISTIC AND RESPECTFUL WHILE YOU DO SO.. I'M SURE JONATHAN HAS HIS ADVISERS WHO READS & SEES UR FRUSTRATIONS.. THAT WAY THEY WOULD BE UNDER PRESSURE TO DELIVER. AFTER HIS !ST TERM, IF YOU"RE NOT SATISFIED WITH THE SATE OF THE COUNTRY, YOU GO & EXPRESS YOURSELVES THROUGH YOUR VOTES..DON'T EXPECT MAGIC TO HAPPEN OVER NIGHT NIGERIANS.:.

Only tax payers in Nigeria have the right to insult Jonathan on the issue of electricity.

Pay your taxes!!!!!

I do agree Jonathan lacks self confidence. Like Homeboy was staring down throughout the whole interview.

People who compare him with governors of flourishing states like Lagos, Abuja, Rivers and Calabar fail to forget that these governors are dealing with their states alone.

Try dealing with 36 states that have political and cultural tension.

Nigeria has definitely improved and if you fail to see that, then there is a problem.

The problems in Nigeria can not be solved in a day.

His last answer with crude oil was very accurate.External forces definitely play a big part in the issue of missing barrels of oil

When next you want to insult our great President Jonathan, make sure you put your 2cents on the international policies and external forces that affect his decisions.

A country with so many states, cultures and ethnic group is not easy to maintain.

Many comments on dis blog are as a result of biased and stupid reasoning by disgruntled and ill-mannered individuals frm wrecked and broken homes, who are looking to place dia frustrations and failures in life on another man simply bcos he came frm another tribe.
Useless and gd for notin bigots. Most of ur parents are d fraudsters dat hv bn ripping dis country off for the past 50yrs. GEJ hs spent 2yrs+ and he hs made +ve impacts much more dan ur wicked and devilish uncles hv done; exposing d great evils perpetrated and entrenched by ur kith and kin. Here u are using d media to discredit and frustrate GEJ's efforts at sanitising d system. Shame on all u criminal-minded elements whose kith and kin have ruled 9ja for over 4 decades, with corruption and lawlessness to show for it. Tho' u succeeded in looting and converting our common wealth to ur private estates; acquiring gd education and positioning ursef strategically for another round of loot, nemesis will surely catch up on u.

Come 2015 we shall c wht will happen; either u'l declare ur fake republic with ur loot or u will use ur loot to plot coup to install dat ur uncle whom u think is well educated and fit to rule.

Fine and good interview. All our prayers is to have a better Nigeria we can all be proud of no matter where we may be. Evidently, power has improved in the nation. Good luck Jonathan is a progressive leader and has said that power would even improve further. Forward ever, backward never. For better, we support you our president. God bless Nigeria! We are for progress and advancement. If God has to bless Nigeria through Jonathan, so be it. Nothing personal really but for national development, I say MORE GREASE and may God see you through. All the best. Do not let the BH bother you. These are a bunch of evil no goods, they will eventually destroy themselves and their sponsors. Them that live by the sword, shall die by the sword. Typical! Nigerians will always find excuses for everything, saying he's human and all. He knew he was going to be interviewed, why didn't he prepare himself? He's the President for God's sake, he should learn to sound like one; confident and eloquent and probably he would have impressed me a bit but sincerely, i was disappointed as usual. Christiane had more facts about his country more than the President. Maybe if Jonathan had backed his answer about power supply up with facts and figures, maybe, just maybe i would have pretended to believe him despite the epileptic power situation in my area. We need more than a man with no shoes to solve our problems. God help us

OMG, see how Nigerians are castigating abuses on their Mr. No 1, this is what comes out when SENTIMENTS clouds your judgments. I told people in 2011.. Forget about this man, forget about his sweet name, he does not have the will to drive us, even by an inch closer to the promises land. My problem however is that 'so na like this we go dey dey' until probably 2019 (two tenures), because that same SENTIMENTS still exist in the hearts of NIGERIANS. Lastly if you VOTED JEG and you are among the people raining abuses on him here... GOD IS WATCHING YOU IN 3D!!!! because you have directly pressed 'the spoil key' one the keypad of the progress of Nigeria. GOD bless NIGERIA!

One thing i must say to Nigerians is dat we shud stop lookin for a President that speaks wit an American accent. Our President has spoken with his true Nigerian accent and there is nothing wrong with that. But i always say poverty amongst so much riches is a the cause for BH, same with the Niger/Delta issue. He has spoken that by the end of the year there will be much improvement in Power, we pray so. Corruption is a thing that has to be seriously looked into, let those that have be caught by EFCC be brought to book quicker than they do now. they shud not set example with small Fish, but with BIG Fish that way Nigerian PPle will bliv there is no one above the law.
