Coventry University, UK soars 17 places in Guardian league table

Coventry University, UK is continuing its dramatic improvement in the national rankings with a leap of 17 places to 46th overall in the 2013 Guardian University league table.

According to the latest rankings, which were published recently in the Guardian UK newspaper, Coventry is now a leading post-1992 university in the UK and is in the country’s top 10 for positive student feedback.

The significant rise in the table builds on last year’s improvements, which saw the University jump 23 places in the Guardian’s rankings, move up 30 places in the Sunday Times University Guide and record its best ever student satisfaction scores in the National Student Survey (NSS).

In this year’s Guardian table, Coventry scores particularly well on the NSS feedback measure – which indicates the percentage of final year students satisfied with feedback and assessment by lecturers – and is also ranked in the top 10 in the Guardian’s added value measure, which compares students’ individual degree results with their entry qualifications to highlight the effectiveness of teaching in helping students to exceed their expectations.

With 4 in-takes in a year (January, April, July and September), admissions to Coventry University, UK for the September in-take is on-going at our Nigeria Office at 28/32 Industrial Avenue, Academy Press Premises, Opposite UBA Bank PLC Ilupeju, Lagos State. Please call Rachel the Admissions Officer on 01-8426429 or email ab1988@coventry.ac.uk

This one na advert strategy to get students. I am a current student of the university. This school is basically targeting Nigerians as we are so many here. In my department alone, we are about 70% Nigerians with 30% for the rest of the world to share likewise in a few other departments. My personal experience is that it is not much better than what is available in Nigeria when it comes to class lectures although the library is loaded with books and the IT and internet services are also good.

A Nigerian student that learns with me when we have a combined class was stabbed to death by a white man about 3 months ago who was then arrested as we heard.

Actually, i hear its 5 cents coins.. Oh and congrats with the blackberry application thing. It ws really smart of you. Just remember to key into feed back from customers to know when, what and how to upgrade the application for maximum performance and ultimately customer satisfaction. I really hope you attain seriously unattainable heights. Richard of Virgin started as a recording studio company and he is where he is today. You should explore expansion and/or other business ventures given that you already have such publicity. OK. (*pls dont post*) Thanks

Coventry University (Cov Uni)should be renamed 'University of Nigerians in the UK'. Allow me to be temporarily snobbish and say, "I'm so glad I went to Warwick University:-)" It's so much better and also in Coventry, oustkirts though, bordering between Leamington Spa and Coventry. Besides Cov Uni is regarded by those in the know, as a glorified polytechnic.

Being ranked 46th in the country is not so great when you consider that just 63% of Coventry graduates are employed 6 months after graduation- other universities have much better record in this regard. Moreover, with 46th place, Coventry is in the 2nd ranked group. Amyway, you go there at your own peril, now that London Met is under suspension for breachung UK immigration rules

Chimoo biko don't discourage me I'm coming there this sept n I've already paid school fees.

Anonymous said...

Rubbish school......its best to save that money and go to another school. Please i am begging u . This is my alma mater but sorry not recommended

Yes that’s what we're talking about! It has not only soared 17 places. Preparing you for a successful career is central to the design of the university courses and the support they provide. Recent results show that an impressive 94% of Coventry University graduates gained employment or continued to further study within 6 months of graduating. (Source:DLHE)
Testimonies abound and I was there too. Ratio of lecturers to student is 15:4. Practical, internship and theories are combined. How is this compared to Nigerian schools?
Hey peeps! Do not allow anyone to discourage or prevent you from achieving your goals. Get to Coventry University, your career and future is guaranteed for life!

Coventry University! I was there 2 years ago. I must say the people there are very warm.

Anonymous said...

coventry uni is absolute shit! like 99% of the students are Nigerians...at least when you're a student there you are certain to get a first class/ distinction since their standards are very low.

A lot of UK Schools are very expensive. But when I went to Coventry office in Lagos, what they showed me compared to what I heard from other UK Universities, it is much better.

Anonymous said...

We gree o! 70% of Nigerians are there. I don't think that is a bad thing nah.

Anonymous said...

With lots of Nigerians studying there, Coventry University is another home for us, away from home! Can't wait to resume next month! Go Coventry!!!!

Anonymous said...

The six reason is: it is simply the best! Ignore those negative coments. You most def will get value for your money

Anonymous said...

Pele am just speaking the truth they are shit!

OH LINDA!!!! COMEON! I BEGGED U NOT TO POST :(

Anonymous said...

Do people still come to the UK to learn. Lmao. The government doesn't like international students o. Besides so much bureaucracy and unfair laws being enacted. You're better off in Canada,US or whatnot.

PS: Despicable Me. :)

Anonymous said...

They have Oil and Gas courses that most UK Universities don't have. I think that is a plus for them.

Anonymous said...

Linda you're a big chic now o! Blackberry app for your blog, now Coventry University is advertising too. Congrats girl! Show us the way o! Let me even call the office now sef *chewing a gum and dialing the number*...

Anonymous said...

Coventry University! The first in aggressive marketing. Other UK Universities in Nigeria, take note.

Anonymous said...

They are rising...that is good.

Anonymous said...

The issue about job after graduation is not your University's fault. It's a personal thing. If you can't express yourself in an interview and expect that because you went to a UK School you just get the job...think again.

Anonymous said...

I'm in Coventry right now and I've had a good experience so far. I encourage Nigerians to apply to Coventry University.

Anonymous said...

Graduated from Coventry University and it was a good learning experience for me. Thank you Linda.

In my opinion. Coventry Uni is s**t... I schooled in nearby Birmingham but Coventry Uni is just another London Met... yes I said so! Go to Lagos Business School instead!

Emem said...

All of you close your mouths! What's this nonsense?good for you that went to Harvard and Co.we mustn't all go to Ivy leauge schools.Yes there are lots of Nigerians in Cov.Uni,what does that matter?Or is it free Education?
Evil Spirits that want to pour sand in somebody's garri. The lecturers do their job just fine, facilities are great so what else makes a good school....Instead of this smear campaign against Cov.Uni,pray to God to open your own way so that you make good success.See me oh!

Anonymous said...

I like my School. I'm proud of my School...Coventry University. Yayyyy!

Anonymous said...

All UK schools have issues nah. I don't think Coventry University is as bad as some people are painting. I'm there now and it has been good.

Anonymous said...

Whatever! I'm going there next month. Half bread is better than chin-chin.

Anonymous said...

I was at their Nigeria Office and really the staff are very nice. But can't afford to go next month. Maybe January. Coventry, any scholatship for me?

Anonymous said...

What happened to London Metropolitan University can happen to any UK University. Please let's stop hating and discouraging people unecessarily.

Anonymous said...

Linda! Plenty money. Coventry come and advertise on my blog now?

Emem said...

Why are people so evil?So because there are lots of Nigerians in Cov.Uni,so what?Is it free education? The Nigerian population in most universities in the UK and indeed the world is increasing, and Coventry University, like many other Uni's in UK,is just making the most out of a bad bad situation in Nigeria.Wait oh,what are you people on about sef?Abi is 10,000 pounds cheap in any currency?

Inferiority complex will not kill us Nigerians,I swear.Everyone must not go to Harvard or Imperial College,God abeg oooh!

Coventry University is a good school.Modern Equipment,Good teaching staff and that's all that matters to me.Those of us who know why we are here are making the most of it,to thine own self be true.

If you were not ready for a masters degree or whatever it is you came here to do,you shouldn't have bothered to come to school in the first place.Because it didn't turn out to be the party you expected, you're here talking recklessly. It's the person who decided to send you that I blame.

For the person who said getting Distinctions and First class is easy anywhere in this UK,you my friend are the one sleeping on a bicycle.Don't believe everything you hear.

Please oooh, world people, don't come and pour one bag of gravel inside our one cup of Garri.Stay in your IVY league lane ooh,let us stay in ours. This is the school I chose,as it is among the top 5 in the whole UK for the course I came here to study, and YES,the tuition is not cheap, but very affordable thank you!..all this hateful rantings are borne out of rotten belle.Plix, take many seats!

Anonymous said...

So they have a London campus now? 2 campuses? Not bad.

Anonymous said...

Linda, when are you going to Coventry?

Anonymous said...

Naija! Must we always say negative things? Even when Linda post something about her good self, we always have something negative to say. Na wa o!

Anonymous said...

Ofcourse she got paid for the advert...and so? Is that bad? She's doing her job and smiling to the Bank while you're idle, hating.

Anonymous said...

It's a good school. I might apply next year.

Anonymous said...

Na una sabi o! I'm going to Coventry University period!

Anonymous said...

Aren't these guys one of your sponsors? Adverts in guise of commentary is illegal. Beware.

Anonymous said...

Linda how much did they pay you? Lmao

Haters stop hating. your problem is not the school you attended, rather is an issue of personality. am currently a student of coventry university and I must say that am so proud of the uni so far. The university is working so hard to meet a standard that in the next 10 years, coventry university will be among the few top university in UK.

Engineering and Computing have just launched a new scholarship fund in recognition of the opening of our brand new state of the art building - do check with your agent - please also look me up if you come to Coventry - always happy to help

The Nigerians who have posted shit comments about Coventry university are the ones that drag the name of this school into mud, most of them only go clubbing and are very unserious with their studies. They come here and waste their parents hard earned millions or stolen givernment millions for u and i as the case may be. They come out with very poor results at the end and call it a shit school. Trust me Coventry university is a very good university if u are looking to settle in fast as a Nigerian but please do not associate yourself with these crackheads that are giving the Uni. A bad name. There have been great improvement and those who are working hard are the one's ripping the fruits. Talk of the Nigerian society in this university, a complete failure, the so called governing body have only been able to achieve very little, the percentage of Nigerians that are in this school as int'l students not withstanding. I can confirm to you that all of this anonymous commenters have come out with either a 2-2 or ordinary pass from this Uni. Because they have whiled away all their time in IGLU, PLATINIUM night clubs and the rest of them. Most of them are ashamed and are too disgraced to go back home even. Where am I driving at? If u are going to come to Coventry Uni. Please come, have a nice time but bear in mind that ur main purpose of coming is to come out with an excellent result. Caio

Anonymous said...

U prolly didn't achieve much in Birmingham from the bitterness in ur tone. On the other hand there is everything right about Coventry university do much improvement and positivity.

Anonymous said...

From your above comment, u sound naive and I so conclude that u must be one of the empty brains. Are u saying that all Nigerians there come out with first class? Or that they are offered distinctions as "guarantee" what a twat gosh!!!

Anonymous said...

U are a proper waste man or better still a shit woman. U prolly will come out with an ordinary pass. Don't go and focus on your projects and dissertations, be here commenting an wasting time you don't have. Shit guy

Anonymous said...

From the sentences u've made here, you are absolutely bored out of you crazy mind in Warwick. Who goes to Warwick btw. What is there? Can u boost of a reasonable social life or concerned tutors as u have in cov. If u are girl I am 80% sure that the boy hitting it must be from cov. Cos the way u marked out those boundaries between cov and Warwick shows that u are always in and out of cov. Poor girl. I'm sad for ur life :(

Anonymous said...

Ur a fool n u chat shit. I grew up in the uk n did my undergrad in herts uni n cov is shit compare to herts uni am doing my masters in cov n wot parties are u talking about kmt u fink av got time for parties idiot like u. Cov uni is shit period now u can like to fry ice block hiss

Anonymous said...

Your generation is shit mtchewwww

Anonymous said...

i am a current student of Coventry uni, its a rubbish uni please academically they maybe okay, their international office is full of racist Indians... and Coventry is a boring and rubbish place ... try Warwick university now that a uni, sadly its still in Coventry ...

Unknown said...

I have to say one thing. As I recently graduated from Cov Uni with distinction and secured a job even before I graduate makes me want to say that all those haters, have no idea. At all. The thing is no matter the name of the University, the important part is what YOU DO to get knowledge. It is our responsibility. I was lucky(new building-excellent professors who cared a lot)and utilized everything that was given to me. That simple. But you have to be clever and think that way instead of losng time in complaining like a jobless person.
**Ps: For all those people who wrote comments on such style: "cov uni iz sit...krap pleis" and stuff like this...Hopefully no one takes you seriously and you are not expected to have your opinion valued...at least academically.
