Dis is really sad esp wit his mum still alive no parent should ever bury there children, may we all live to eat d fruit of our labour IJN amen.may his soul rest in peace amen
We are in a country where people don't respect their heroes. How many condolence registers have been opened for Yekini?I haven't heard of any. How many were opened for Chief Gani Fawehinmi in 2009?None. But for someone who had just very little influence with our lives like Micheal Jackson,we praised to high heavens and opened condolence registers,if possible Nigerians would probably had asked the Government to declare a national holiday.
@ziare re u for real?or what planet did u come for?i would av appreciated ur comment if u hadnt mentioned michael jackson,,what do u know about michael jackson..do u realised it was michael jackson that ever started doing charity before the other stars joined in..go and do ur research about michael u idiot b4 u come here and start saying rubbish, michael jackson was the only celebrity who had spent moe than 300million on charity..do you think ple were going gaga for him cos of his music alone??? no idiot..!!! it was cos of the charities he had done all over the world...and do u know how many children hospital bills michael jackson haspayed for globally..if its michael jackson u re talking about u dont know jack !!!idiott!!!go and do ur research properly b4 coming here to comment stupidly..michael jackson 30th anniversary ticket money went into charity slacker and when he built his mansion nevaland he did that from the story of peter pan with the thoughts of less priviledge children in mind who can come in there and have fun without their parents thinking of how to raised money for disneyland..so dont compare michael jackson to any celeb..inasmuch as i see yekini as an icon that deserve the best the country could offer for what he had contributed in our spots..u should be blaming the nigerian governmemt who shld learn to honour their icon and help them in time of their needs, the man that designed our national flag died a pauper, what did they do to honour him or help him and his family when they needed the money for his treatments.noothing despite we all kno that naija is a rich country..so pls think b4 u comment..rip yekini""
You seem very angry..r u a relative of the jacksons? @ziare was talking about MJ's contribution to Nigeria..next time read properly b4 u start ranting :)

U cld have made your points without cursing or insulting @ziare...Watch what you come on here to type..nobody is a fool and if you think you know too much..go and open ur own website!!
Anon..01.19...pls get ur fact right.how many guilty sentence did he get for molesting this young kids...u think America is a bribe taking country like ours..if he molested any kids he would av probably died in jail..but he was never found guilty..so that means the guy didn't molest any kids..or did he bribe the judges out of his sentences..hello no! So bk to your question..fool..he didn't molest any kids..except some poverty stricken family who wanted to use their kids to extort money from him..so the anon.person is right.considering the charity he did.
RIP Yekini. Nigerian Govt can do better than they're presently. Imagine, this hero died of a sickness he's been battling with for 5years and nobody came to his aid then until he died and Osun state govt n the likes started donating a million naira to his family.. Haba! Naija wake up!
Dat babe is like old layer shicken in comparison to the other, much younger contestants. And that Toke wetin she call herself gave me migraine with that her shepe addled voice, very fake accent and pretending like she can't speak Yoruba properly, shior! She should have just stuck to that her red gown instead of exposing her black hard-to-bleach knees in her short gown with skipping rope at the side.
This country Nigeria, to my best experience and knowledge isn't WORTHY DYING FOR at all. The highest goal-scorer in the history of Nigerian football, first Nigerian to win African football of the year and first Nigerian to score in FIFA world cup. Despite all these awards and more the so-called ''AUTHORITIES'' couldn't expressed their feelings, shocks, sorrows and regrets, not even condolence register. But always open condolence registers for those thieves in our society. YEKING, it was pity that you played for a country that don't appreciates their own apart those CABALS, all your efforts would have appreciate in even neighbouring countries, let alone western cointries. Your death is big lessons for other Nigerians, think before you commit all your efforts to the cause of Nigeri ALJANAT FIRDAUS RASHEED 'YEKING' YEKINI.
Condolence registers are opened by people. You can open one for Rashidi Yekini in your house if it will make you feel better.
I think it's in all together bad taste to compare one person's death and the way his fans mourned him to anothers. No two people are the same. MJ was a global icon with a massive fan base. He had fan clubs all over the world who organised his mourning and funeral ceremonies.
Rashidi Yekini was a Nigerian hero. Unfortunately, Nigerians don't know how to be fans. They are people who look up to government for everything, even things they should do for themselves. They also have blaming culture. Instead of you to put up a condolence for Rashidi Yekini, you come here and complain.
U don't have to be so nasty to drive home ur point. I am a mother of 3 and I think we mothers should train our children to have respect for all irrespective of age. The level of insult and abusive words I see being posted on this blog makes me feel we are failing in our duties. We can disagree politely you know.
@zaire.....to and open condolence registry..who are you complaining to. If you are that passionate stop complaining to thin air and ct yourself. If you are not ready to at, sit down and be quiet. gani didn't complain alone but also acted on it. Me I am a coward so I do not complain as I am afraid to act.
Since you are anonymous,I won't make a reply.I didn't even bother replying your message after reading the first two sentence. From your sentence you show how ignorant and self-delusional you are. You called Yekini a Nigerian hero, and Micheal a world hero, right? If you werent so dull, you will sure put your countries hero above a socalled world hero.
@Zaire or whatever ur name is. I am not anonymous and even if I were, you replied me and read my entire comment.
Below are people taking issues with people who (rightly) insult you and here you are ...
The sad thing is that you don't have the mental capasity to comprehend it. Too bad! Sad for you. Sad for the country that bred you. Sad for the family whose name you carry.
It's sooo sad to hear of Rashidi Yekini passsing!...he is a CLASS ACT, a gentle giant, a selfless individual, never made a fuss, played his heart out, and delivered GOALS for NIGERIA when it's most needed! It is HEART BROKEN, coming from someone who just lost a brother this young....God, why are you taking away the good ones amongst us?!!!(sobs)
