Pres. Jonathan orders immediate release of report of forensic audit of NNPC accounts

State House press statement...
We have noted with concern, the allegation by the spokesman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Lai Mohammed that officials of the Federal Government are engaged in “last minute looting of the nation’s resources, rushed privatization of key institutions and hurried recruitment into the public service”.
We also consider as most unfortunate and uncharitable, the suggestion by Alhaji Mohammed that the Jonathan Administration is trying to “tie the hands” of the incoming government merely by continuing to discharge its constitutional responsibilities until the end of its tenure.

The Jonathan Administration which continues to do its best to ensure a smooth and peaceful handover over of power to the President-Elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, deeply regrets the unfairness and combative frame of mind reflected in Alhaji Mohammed’s statement.
President Jonathan has done his best in the past five years to discharge his constitutional responsibilities for good governance and effective leadership of the nation.
Without any prejudice whatsoever to the freedom of the incoming administration to do as it pleases, within the confines of extant laws when it assumes office, the Jonathan Administration will continue to discharge its responsibility to govern until May 29, 2015.
In continuing to fulfil the obligations of his office however, President Jonathan has not, and will never condone any form of unscrupulous conduct on the part of state officials.
President Jonathan will also never authorise any attempt to create any problems for the incoming administration as the APC spokesperson, who ought to know that the outcome of the March 28 presidential elections does not imply a cessation of governance, unjustly alleges.
As Alhaji Mohammed threatened in his statement, the incoming administration will be perfectly within its rights to review all actions of the present government as it may deem fit.
We see nothing wrong with that. After all, the present Administration reviewed the actions of previous governments on assumption of office with resultant benefits for policy and project implementation.
President Jonathan is also deeply concerned by the continuing suggestions that his administration still has anything to hide about the unproven allegation that about $20 Billion is unaccounted for by the NNPC during his tenure.
To lay the matter to rest, President Jonathan in line with Section 7(2) of the NNPC Act, has directed that the full report of the PWC Forensic Audit of the NNPC accounts be released immediately to the public so that all Nigerians will be properly informed on the matter.

Don't mind lie mohammed and their apc nitwits. They have won election and instead of them to prepare for May 29th handover date and focus on their incoming administration , they are busy attacking gej even when the man has conceded defeat and ready to hand over power to them. We will see how their performance will be.

Why hide it in the first place. Now we will all think it has been doctored.

Abati, you know very well you are only trying to reate a soft landing for GEJ. Without oppositions like APC to keep parties in check, there would be a free roam, which your PDP has enjoyed before now. The next thing we are waiting to hear before the 29th of May, is the sack/proper trial of Abba Moro, or whatever his name is. He was behind the deaths of prospecting job seekers. Lets see what you say to that. Don't only respond to Lai Mohammed, respond to the general public on issues that are begging for answers

Subomi said...

GEJ is still the president and should act like it till May 29th so on that part, cant diss PDP or GEj's administration but if its true some of his people are indeed engaging in what APC is accusing them of, its just a waste of time and its simply like digging your own grave

APC pple shud let jonathan go in peace na, all this propaganda is not helping us at all

My problem with this government is the issue of been so slow in responding to serious matters...the presidency had this PWC audit report for several weeks now why couldnt they just do the needful and release it then...did they have to wait for APC to start making speculations? I just dont understand those surrounding the president.

I am a strong supporter of PDP. I am excited that the opposition party won the election! Burhai, started displaying his hidden agenda and we are watching!
Firstly, all the lies he told to get voted, he now says he didn't promise anything!
Also, looking for crude oil in lake Chad and now, this, if you read his speech! He blindly supports the ex-CBN governor and believes his side of the story! Also, nobody is asking Sanusi, about how many abokis he recruited as CBN staff or why he only donated funds to northern universities?
It's sad, because, even if they give the north all money in nigeria, the north can "never" become as rich as the south as long as their people learn to stop seeking handouts! The so called northern elites are the root cause of the north's poverty! Let the fulani cow continue! We r watching

Anybody that knows Buhari should warn him to be careful on how he will carry out his duties when he fully assumes office. Buhari and the APC should be careful else we will not allow his government have breathing space the same way he(Buahari) and APC planned with their Boko Haram and foreign partners to disrupt GEJ's administration. Anybody that knows Buhari should tell him to focus on making good policies than looking for who to victimise. If he must fight corruption he should start with himself, because the money for campaign that brought him into power was from criminals that looted public funds, i.e Tinubu, Atiku, Amaechi, Rochas, TY danjuma etc. So if Buhari must fight corruption he should arrest himself and his APC criminals. Any planned move to tarnish the image of GEJ after he leaves office will lead to national uproar and disorder because we the people of south south will not tolerate the nonsense from hausa cows and their yoruba cohorts. Besides the said oil money is from our region and I think it's time the federal government implement 100percent resource control. The hausa's and yorubas are very greedy people. Very soon we will divide this country, either through peace or other wise. BUHARI and APC should be careful to avoid civil war repeating itself, this time around we won't take it kindly with the hausas and their born to rule animal mentality.

Anybody that knows Buhari should tell him to be careful else Nigeria will still divide. We are calm because of GEJ's decision that has brought about the peace we are enjoying. We all know if Buhari lost the elections even till now they would have been killing innocent people. Buhari and his APC should not think we don't know what we are doing, if he assumes office and start misbehaving we will shut his administration down! It's time Naija delta separate from this scam called Nigeria. All this hausa and yoruba people are greedy fools that must be dealt with. All this power tussle is because of the resources from the south south, yet they won't allow our son to complete his two term because of their selfish and wicked interest. We are watching Buhari and APC, any misbehaviour will lead to something worse than what they did to GEJ's administration.

Buhari is a big fool, a man that is suffering from amnesia. After making unrealistic campaign promises, he has forgotten all he said, I wonder how a man without a working brain will lead Nigeria. The US and UK will dupe Nigeria having buhari as a president because he will sign any document given to him without knowing the meaning. I pity the youths that are the so called leaders of tomorrow that allowed a brain dead to be president all because of their hatred for a good man Jonathan. You all will regret why you voted that old tribalistic fool called Buhari. It's time to divide Nigeria so thos hausa cows can be on their own.

This is what happens when antiquated people take over the reins of power. Gej conceded defeat and set up transition body to oversee seamless transition. What does lai Mohammed want again. Apc should set up committees and panels to investigate all purchases including toothpick and toilet roll when they get there. A British newspaper accused one of their bigwigs of being a conduit for heroin money today. They should sort out their internal issues. They are already fighting over posts. Is this the change they promised?

anonymous 7:08 all I see in you comment is tribalism..... well aren't we all nigerians.... If you feel yorubas and hausas are very greedy... wait till biafra is formed and you will see that almost all humans are greedy regardless of race and tribe.... only then will you realize that the innocent lives that were lost in the civil war was in vain....
so I am saying all this to say... think before you speak.... learn to resolve problems without tribalism.... and be well enlighten about issues before you report them

Unknown said...

He has said it. But wait! Why so many loooong loooooong comments on this particular post tho?
