The oil spill problem is real in several places in the Delta. But it's a multi level scam. From the irresponsible Nigerian and local staff of the oil companies that conspire with locals to breach pipe lines to steal oil and generate clean up contracts to the pipe line vandals who don't care about destroying their own land for a few bucks to the human rights community that travel the world collecting money with pictures like these, to the State governments with huge ministries of environment collecting monthly ecological funds. Then there is the federal government that collects almost 90% of oil revenues (not the oil companies) and refuses to hold these companies to a high environmental standard, but when a spill occurs they either try to make oil companies give them extra money for it or solicit the help of the international community. The new government needs to look into this and put on honest person to manage this problem.

Oil spill caused by who? There was a time they used to lie to us that shell spilled the oil now we know better that the owners of land are the destroyers of their children's future by boring into the pipes for personal gains.

This is the result of all the mayhem from 'angry' Ijaw youths. Yes some spillage from the oil companies but mainly the result of irresponsible folks like MEND etc

Linda oh! there is no place like Ogoni in Rivers State. Ogoni is a tribe and a language. It's like saying Ijebu-ode is in Yoruba, Ogun State, or Nsukka is in Igbo, Enugu State.
Please research well, Bodo City is in Khana, Rivers State.

Anonymous at 3:41 PM, please be sure that when you correct someone, you are actually correct in your assertions. She is more correct than you are. And also, take note that Bodo is not in Khana, but in Gokana, both of which are part of Ogoniland, or Ogoni.
