I weep for my country..national honors is now a thing for every Tom, Dick and Harry(No insults intended to the recipients).How long has GEJ been president that he now sees it fit to award his cook an MON? is the cook not being paid a salary? is the cook not a civil servant? is the traffic warden not a civil servant? so it means all civil servants in the country must be awarded national honors just for performing their normal duties. for the taxi driver,does a man need to be awarded what his considered to be one of the highest honors in a country just because he was honest? is honesty not a trait that every decent human being should naturally strive to have? what about every other person in Nigeria that have been placed in positions of trust and have been honest all thru while performing their duties should they not be honoured and awarded an MON? I thought national honours were meant for people that have performed and contributed positively in no small measure and considered icons in the country as a whole. The other day, it was Abacha (a known dictator whose assets have been seized world wide)that was post posthumously honored. Haba! Jonathan keeps making a mockery of the little integrity the Nigerian state has left.which way Nigeria?.. And Please people, it not every thing that is done foolishly in good gesture that should be applauded..there is nothing worth commending our clueless president for with regards the honors he has just dished out!let us distance ourselves from mediocrity.
His cook? What about his cleaner,barber,laundry man etal? This feels more like personal award than general.Can't believe all the heroes we have in Nigeria have suddenly become extinct that cooks now get awards.am not hating o,just tryna understand the rationale behind the cook's selection
when i forgot my wallet with 1,800 naira back in University of Ibadan...i never saw the campus cab, ever again. If the guy had found this 18 million, even Heaven( God forgive me) won't locate that guy...:)
