I know Dami very well. We're from the same area in Ogba. He grew up with his grandma in Bolaji Taylor Street & my street was just 3mins away. He attended Providence Height & my school was just about 5mins away from his. I was like a big bro to him. When I Iast saw his mom, she was wearing a lowcut. She used to be D party-rocker type of woman so she never really had his time. Wondering why she's back to be associated with him now after leaving poor Dami at the mercy of his super-strict grandma & the aboki in front of der yellow house. Happy for Dami as long as he's happy sha.. SMH for all negligent moms in the world not all of you will get the chance Mama Laje (as she's fondly called) got!

he hasn't seen her because she left Nigeria for the U.S so she can provide for him. when it was time for him to come see her they wouldn't give him a visa he just recently got one. i know her her name is kemi oshodi.

To answer ur questions, d woman has been in US for d past 10yrs trying to secure her green card. If she comes to naija without having a citizenship card, she won't be able to go back to d Us again. Also, Dammy was not opportuned to travel out b4, but now dat he is made, oyinbo man can give him visa so he used dat opportunity to see his mum. Now it is Dammy dat will be travelling to see her, the mother dare not leave d US.
It makes no sense. 10 whole years? Even from the photos she appears slightly distant. Is she as excited about the reunion as he is?
As a mother why couldn't she plan to save up and send him to visit her? U can buy tickets way in advance and get a decent price off peak season. If she couldn't come, he could have gone - she could have sent him a letter of invitation or something...

*Tears* I can totally relate to this, didnt see my mom for almost that long, 1999-2008. 9 years. Unavoidable circumstances happens in life that you just cannot help, but the good Lord always reunites loved ones. Many things could happen in those years especially if you lived with your single mother before she travelled or something. Glad for them, Dammy turned out good and the mom is good equally. Perhaps she is still waiting on her papers before she can go back to 9ja. May the good God take us all to our promise land.

People are so quick to judge others without knowing their story. This lady lives in Houston. It is very possible (and we see this all the time) that the mom came to the US to work to give her children a better life. Unfortunately, due to immigration issues on both ends, she wasn't able to leave the US and her kid(s) weren't given visas. You never know. Obviously, they weren't estranged. They just never saw each other in person. There are so many Nigerians living abroad that haven't had the opportunity to see their loved ones in many many years. Let's not turn a lovely story of reunion into bashing abeg.

People are so quick to judge others without knowing their story. This lady lives in Houston. It is very possible (and we see this all the time) that the mom came to the US to work to give her children a better life. Unfortunately, due to immigration issues on both ends, she wasn't able to leave the US and her kid(s) weren't given visas. You never know. Obviously, they weren't estranged. They just never saw each other in person. There are so many Nigerians living abroad that haven't had the opportunity to see their loved ones in many many years. Let's not turn a lovely story of reunion into bashing abeg.
