Photos: Flood submerges transformer unit in Asaba

Photos above show the state of the substation 1 transformer located at Jesus Save road in Asaba, the Delta state capital. Heavy downpour, which has been experienced in the state for over three weeks, coupled with lack of proper drainage system has resulted in the partial flooding of the transformer unit. Residents of the street say they now live in fear as they can be electrocuted if nothing is urgently done to address the very dangerous situation. More photos after the cut...

Jesus!! That looks dangerous!! We need drainages and drainage maintenance on this country and people need to learn not to dispose of garbage in them too, cos it is not always the government!

Nne, this comment has nothing to do with the post. Biko help me ask blog readers what's this thing with finance officers breaking people's homes. I have heard of 4 finance officers who while managing their clients account, na so dem enter house pursue the first wife. And one particular bank is notorious for this (I no go mention am). Imagine my shock when a retired man( I heard he is a grandfather of two) just sent his wife out of the house and told her he is a Muslim and his religion permits 2nd wife. Na igbo man he marry as second wife oh. This igbo woman was his account officer. Please spread the word out that people should be very wary of these jezebels that pose as account officers. Nne biko I beg you to post this let people know oh

Government of delta state has no plans to alleviate the suffering of people living in the state capital as no good road n proper drainage system in the state capital, and this state collects huge amount of money from FARC after Akwaibom state.

As tidy as Asaba may seem to appear, almost all the roads have blocked drainage channels except a few. In all fairness to the incumbent government, measures are being put in place to caution the effect. A lil patience will be required though.

All the past governors of Delta state should be arrested. They never did anything in Asaba. The town looks like a village not a state capital
