Do i blame the British embassy? The answer is 'No'. Na una wey be politicians dey cause am. Politicians always run abroad like its at their backyard. Anything to reduce the influx of people to UK, so that is the reason they increased it. Yet it has made no difference.

I agree with her. So annoying when one wants to get UK visa and it's so expensive. British Visa is the most expensive. I think the federal government need to look into it. Don't even know what's so special that they have to make it that high.

Even US is just 31,200 naira.

Good observation Madam!
I be been waiting for a Government official to address this issue.
They rip people off in this country yet people grumble but pay!
Bloody British!

Madam, it cost as much to secure a 2 year Nigerian visa from the High Commission in London (the visa fee itself is an eye watering $468 plus an additional £20 to the Nigerian High Commission and £71 to the visa processing agents)!

Because Nigerian can't stay in there county.

That is British for you. They like money. Lol

Madam, the ans is simple. It is because greedy Nigerian politicians have refused to fix our country, thereby reducing the opportunities here. The British man understands this, and has deliberately hiked the price of their visa to scare many Nigerian hustlers away.

Unknown said...

Hmmmmm, of a true it is high but so many people would give anything to even get it and for more. Linda take note!

Because the conservative government have cut the cost of running the embassy,so they pass the cost down to people. That is how these people operate
.

This is because we have Govt that do not care about such things. Such can only happen in Nigeria. Really unfortunate, I wish you had won.

am just surprised at the pple saying you shd stay back in nigeria if you cant pay the uk visa visa, are you nigerian at all? why should they make money from us with the harsh situation here in nigeria. my uncle paid over 300k to get uk 5yrs visa, its crazy. What a shame our govt is not even doing anything about the way the embassies makes money from us. The painful thing is after paying for the first time you are not even sure of getting the visa with their flimsy excuses. i'ld like to suggest, once you complete the online form and they know you dont qualify to get the visa no need taking you to the next page to make payment. i applied for the same uk visa and i was refused telling me to re-apply and explain somethings which i did and they still refused me with another different excuse they are not sure i will return back to nigeria after visiting Germany twice and i returned back to nigeria is it uk i will visit and not return???????????? i hope our govt looks into this and bring the visa fee down and if they know you dont qualify for the visa no need taking you to the payment page.

Please don't blame the UK government. I've this nagging feeling that the cost will continue to rise as long as the Naira is on free fall-courtesy of our money managers. Think of what it will be if N1=£1. There is the bright side though. If you can't afford it then stay at home. If you have no serious business in UK, stay at home.
