The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday announced Senator Ahmed Lawan and Senator George Akume as the only candidates for the position of President and Deputy Senate President.
Thereafter they had a primary election conducted by the National Working Committee of the APC at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
33 Senators were accredited to vote and Lawan got 32 votes while 1 vote was declared invalid.
Returning officer and National Secretary of the Party, Mala Buni
“By the powers conferred on me by the NWC of the APC as the Chief Returning Officer of this election after having certified that Dr. Ahmed Lawan has fulfilled all the requirements of the party, he is hereby nominated as the sole candidate of the party for the position of Senate President of the 8th Senate.”
The same procedure took place in the election of Akume. Akume got 32 out of the 33 votes.
In his acceptance speech, Lawan said while he was grateful for the confidence reposed in him by the party and his colleagues, he was saddened that his colleagues “in the other camp” did not participate in the process.
He asked the NWC to help him win over all the other senators in the National Assembly because he would require their support not only to win on Tuesday but also to provide leadership at the legislative arm of the government like he should.
Punch.

Get on board and fly to the place we wanna be
I see Sasaki emerging because PDP senators may queue behind him just like what opposition parties did with tambuwal during his time. He disobeyed PDP's orders to zone the position to the west. What goes around comes around. Watching
Saraki doesn't deserve it....no offence *word*

Honest truth if they allow Saraki he will give Buhari run for his money come 2019,Saraki ambition is to become President of Nigeria .So do Atiku and more .
Blurred lines.
Fuck em all.
At the end of the day, not even a South East person as Senate President, Deputy Senate President or Speaker of the House of Reps.
Well, I will reserve my comment and wait for Tuesday to come.

Rubbish, all have been prearranged.
We r watching ooooo
PDP will produce the senate president on tuesday
If you follow due process involving everybody, no one will complain.
If you do party leaders manipulations, 2019 is just around the corner and we will be sure to emphasize your similarity to what we despise.
YORUBA PPL TAKE ANOTHER L IN THE MUCH TOUTED GMB REGIME.
APC Party leaders manipulations.
Quickly showing true color.
PDP should present agreeable and progressive candidate (NOT DAVID MARK) to the aggrieved APC members and let them vote those candidates into both houses.
Teach the party leaders not to take members and true democratic procedures for granted, if not, this will be the shape of others things to come thus destroying the party and negating progress for the next 4 years.
The nose this man tho, Can he even breath
