APC reacts to election shift, says it's “highly provocative”

A press statement from APC...
The All Progressives Congress, APC, has just heard over the news media that The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has decided to postpone the elections by six weeks on the strength of a letter by the security chiefs that they cannot provide security for the elections nationwide because of the commitment of its resources to fight insurgency in the north eastern part of the country.
This is clearly a major setback for Nigerian democracy, and our Party is meeting in emergency session to study its implications and will inform Nigerians of its decisions in the next few days.
In the meantime, though what has happened is highly provocative, I strongly appeal to all Nigerians to remain calm and desist from violence and any activity which will compound this unfortunate development. We must not fall into this obvious trap. Change we must. They can only delay it; No one can stop it.

I want to assure all Nigerians that the All Progressives Congress will not abandon its commitment to change and will sustain the struggle to establish a new Nigeria.

John E. K. Odigie-Oyegun. CON.
National Chairman, APC

This is interesting. I thought that John Oyegun has more intelligence than this. INEC postpones elections because of insecurity reasons and he immediately attributes it to pdp trying to play a fast one. He is not even interested in the security of the electorate or peace. All he is interested in is jumping in there to start the looting immediately. They are all the same APC and PDP birds of the same feather. Change ko! change nee!. They might think we are fools but we are not.

Ok my response is to all mediocre thinker on this platform who believe that postponement of election is a good or funny thing, in case you do not know this among other things shows the level of failure of this administration. Feb 14 was announced since mid 2014 and just like a wedding date you don't just postpone elections, because election are not surprise parties we all expected it to hold since 2011 they had 4years to prepare and brace up security it not a matter of PDP or ACAN or AD or APGA it beyond any political party it our nations pride going down the pit latrine on a daily basis and it definitely beyond small talks and abusing each other or lols as some people are commenting, economically it is bad thing, do you know how many event and shows would have been cancelled for this election? And millions that some people would loose, pls if you don't know how to reason when it comes to matter like this just get your fingers off the phone keyboard and read the adults comment. Regards and blessed sunday.

By the way, there are other political parties. Don't know why the fuss and concentration on just 2. Maybe it's about time Nigeria amended it's constitution to a 2 party state.

Some group of researchers from Colombia University have created a dongle compatible with any smartphone to check if you are HIV positive or even have syphilis. The dongle should cost about $34 and is undergoing final test. You just add a little bit of blood and press a button #dazzall. The dongle doesn't use a battery and is powered by plugging it into earphone jack.

Read full details here with video showing it at work: Check your HIV status in 15 minutes

Its unfortunate dt a lot of Nigns are blinded by tribe and religion, otherwise, they would know dt Nigeria is not working under PDP hence, d need for change. Why would d security operatives use BH as an excuse mere days b4 d electns? Clearly, PDP is planning to manipulate d electn results with this postponement. All I know is dt GEJ must go this year. Enuf of PDP machinations @ d federal level pls. Nigeria must work this time and peace must reign in this country.

Why is it that everything done elicits same violence~ ingrained message/reaction from you guys? Perhaps this is another phrase for your ""baboons & dogs will be soaked in blood"" statements.
Well, well.....perhaps you are bullet proof. For if & when that Armaggedon which you are always calling for comes, God forbid, you will find out that you have no place to hide, being as you occupy & inhabit same space as the rest of us who wish to carry on with our daily lives in peace.

Election is postponed for only one reason! GEJites has enough campaign money to run for more weeks... enough to sell more lies! Knowing that GMB may not have such. Of course JEGA removed himself from the game, he said more than 90% PVCs had been distributed across the states, 65% had been picked up. But they still go ahead saying insurgency that didn't get solved in 6 years would be solved in 6 weeks for election... who is fooling who? Expect more campaign lies in the media. We just need be focused... let's save Nigeria together.

Anonymous said...

GEJites are using undue political advantage!
There are 14 local Govt affected; 10 in Borno, 2 in Yobe, 2 in Adamawa. And there are 774 LGAs areas in Nigeria. Now ask your self is the postponement justifiable? Afghanistan, Syria, Pakistan were fighting wars and they conducted election.

I love this reply. Buhari has lied under oath and people are busy shouting change. See the thieves backing him up, from Amaechi to Tinibu. Bike they should all go and take chill pills

No matter what happens,Aboki na Aboki! Allah will not allow another Aboki to rule Nigeria again,Nigeria is in this mess because of their greed!!

I don't see anything wrong in the postponement of the election. The APC stand better chances of getting more votes since most of the North East war affected areas are APC states. My advice is that the APC should be more constructive in their statements. They should be able to express their comments with good intentions.Nigerians are educated and civilized people, nobody have the rights to brain wash us with unfounded sentiments.

The APC still remains the old wine in a new jar.Don't to tell us that you have a new image now.

I dey laf A Pee Shiit. Of all the political parties that are contesting is only the A Pee Shiit the postponement would be termed PDP strategy, when many political parties, the military and action groups asked INEC to postpone (bu ha ria) the election.
Desperate party APC too dey misbehave the kind of insult this idiots party rain on Mr. President u will ask urself is it the president of our country these desperados are calling unbearable names and stupid and silly ones have joined them in their parade of shame shouting change when they can vividly see the kind presidential aspirant who his antecedence speaks volume, they call him incorruptible man when he used a coup in 1983 to remove a democratic government of shagari but now in 2015 he now want be a democratic government he forbidded; he put shagari in a palace house arrest and sent Ekwueme to prison for corruption for crime the court never found him guilty of till today . What of the 2.8 billion dollars that was traced to his bank account in london abi GEJ or PDP tell fela to sing about ithe missing money or the 58 suitcases that was not searched at the airport during his regime all for the incorruptible man. The saint, man of integrity and reputation with all these titles you absconded Oputa Panel where many cases are up against u as of then, now 2015 Mr Change boycotted the debates with all the infinite clues (illetracy) he has to debate mr clueless, daft, dumb, and drunkard; he ran away. Is it forgery of certificate or the already committed pejury case that is up against, murder case nko, abegi the list is endless for mr incorruptible, integrity n all the names A Pee Shiits gives to the blood sucker. The man that since 30years ago after his regime never facilitated any single project for his people in Daura after all charity begins at home; with all the money he receives as his pension, yet no NGO with him heading it, no written paper/lecture. NOTHING. The only time he surfaced was when boko haram named him as their mediator to negotiate with the federal government but now in 2015 after the 30yrs of no self economic achievement and selfless service to his people now promises heaven and earth to Nigerians. May God Deliver some Nigerians who are already been deceived after all there other candidates in other parties that are better off than the worst Buhari..

Most comments here are not issue based, rather sentimental. Nd I bliv most youths ere re educated, yet they comment like illiterates.like sum1 said in a post.dese leaders of tomoro re nt good thinkers. Dear Mr Oyegun, is it that your party which you represent don't accept, don’t understand or find it difficult to understand the stand INEC has taken. Anyway, how do you understand when you lack basic PRIMARY EDUCATION (WAEC, WASSE) Please Sir INEC is just an ELECTORAL BODY and not A BRAIN SURGEON. How else do you want them to make you understand? Not surprised, typical of him and the people he represents. Be a good democrat like GEJ who's is the finest democrat nija has ever had. # SAY NO TO TYRANNY. MARCH_AGAINST _BUHARI. I BELIVE IN TRANSFORMATION AGENDA. CORRECTING THE EVIL OF YESTER_YEARS. #TO BE OR NOT TO BE# GEJ_2019.
