It's despicably appalling the mannerism being exhibited by some contributors each time I log in to read articles on LIB.The more reason I just hate commenting because it's needless arguing with some people whose rational thoughts needs thorough probing.
Some just delight in spewing spurious irking statements solely because they have the English Alphabets at their finger tips.Rather than give intellectual analysis,they instead resort to giving curses,abuses and derogatory statements.Perhaps,that's the unfortunate trend in vogue.
Little wonder the illiteracy rate in this country gets higher on a per second basis.Especially when young graduates and undergraduates who are supposedly expected to be tomorrow's leaders make repulsive statements that ought to be ignorantly uttered by an illiterate....
Wonder how hopeful we can be if one of the platforms(Entertainment) that affords the youths the solemn opportunity to channel their skills into a meaningful cause in a bid to avoid being engaged in social vices is reek of dishonesty.
As much as I had always loved and adored Waje,her "I WISH" song didn't merit the category for which she was nominated for and won.Though I can't wholly pride myself to be a thorougbred music analyst,far from it but the genre for which it was nominated for was nothing but a mockery of the Entertainment industry and I can only see this "grand act" exercerbating an already worrisome nature.
It's only capable of ushering an harbinger of doom which already hovers impatiently on the horizon of this country.If an award can't be made credible....Why organise it?,guess that's a question for the gods.
Yet so many still hastily wrote repulsive comments about Orezi's tweets even though he never evidently meant no harm,contrary to what some negatively-stereotyped minds already envisaged.What is however curiosly disturbing was his expectance to remain silent over an unjust act,a daylight robbery capable of dwarfing every moral inherent in a hardworking guy.
I want to believe Waje's conquest had more to do with the song's beats rather than the lyrical contents,if that's the case,it ought to have been stipulated so we can have our doubts doused.My only issue with the genre it was nominated for was the inclusion of "..dancehall",what makes that song a dancehall music?.Even a novice wouldn't dare give a reggae dance steps to "I WISH".
Only God can save us from the abyss this country continually plunge when we have youths that can't be rational in their analysis.I can bet that not everyone has even seen the video but they don't just want to be left out....they grin with delightful pride at seeing their posts even when it merits the hall of fame for the "Most ill-thought" comment of the decade.
I'm doubly sure Orezi's perceived fuss has more to do with Waje's conquest of a wrong genre with a beautiful music though than his failure at not being the winner.
As the saying goes,a gold fish has no hiding place.R.Kelly hasn't won more than 3 Grammy awards with all his legendary R&B hits yet he ranks as one of best,if not the best of his generation in his preffered genre.
Just keep up the good work,if it doesn't come in the way of "...a #20k award"(Cossy Orjiakor 2013),it will surely come in the form of 'ego'.
