Mrs Odili is really pretty but her dress sense doesn't do her any good at all. I wish someone could help her.

Linda, may I ask who the monarch that has spent more years than His Eminence bcos there is a monarch in Kabba Area in Kogi State Who is 50 years on the throne. His coronation graced by late Sardauna of Sokoto before he was brutally murdered in the 1966 first coup.

The Igbos in rivers state are a bunch of confused creatures. This started after the Biafra war when they started changing their names and titles. Any town with the R is just a silly Okilo's idea. Towns like Rumuokoro, Rumuoma etc where originally Umuokoro, Umuoma... 70% of Rivers indigenes are Igbo.

Akunjeri and Mercy Obi, where are you ladies? I cant identify you from the pictures. for those asking why they are dressed like the Binis, there is a migration story that connects the Omoku people to the Benin Kingdom. Indeed their traditions are very Bini in nature.

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

Fine they migrated from bini, but why do they speak d igbo language and bear igbo names.

Anonymous said...

Then why d igbo names and language...

Anonymous said...

Who are this people( Anioma, ikwerre, omoku e.t.c) why are they always claiming they are from Benin, but yet they speak the igbo language and bear igbo names. Then were is the igbo Connection.

Dr Chiejine.

Anonymous said...

Wow!! I see Ruth, Chichi, Obiazi n Chioma! Long Live Sir!!!!

EMEKA said...

Let me explain this to you all. Ogba is in Rivers state and not in south
east.

They are a sub-group of the igbo people but they foolishly disclaim
igbo tribe because of stupidity and
what the civil war did to the igbos.

There are other subgroups like them that disclaim igbo tribe too.

eg.
1. Ikwere
2. Ika
3. Ukwuani
4. Etche
5. Ogba
and many more

All these people are mostly found in Rivers and Delta state.

They always claim their ancestors were from Bini. Inferiority complex!

Yet, they speak igbo dialects. Many of them have changed their igbo names.

If you notice the so-called oba's name . it is CHUKUMELA not CHUKWUMELA.

CHUKWU means God in Igbo and since they disclaim Igbo tribe, they remove the W from the CHUKWU.

Another one is the Obi of Ika land.

his name is Ikenchuku instead of Ikechukwu.

To show that these people are stupid and have inferiority complex. They speak igbo, but yet disclaim it and dress like the Binis as you can see in the pictures.

We don't need them Biko

The sooner these our Igbo kith and kin in Rivers and Delta especially embrace their historical roots, the better. How can you speak the same language, share similar culture with a people and even answer same names and yet say you are not part of the people? These people are poor students of history. The Civil war resulted in Gowon creating 12 states which was a ploy used to mostly divide the Igbos by putting some of the Igbo sub-groups in other states. This was solidified by the concept of geo-political zones. Today Igbos in the South South struggle to assert an identity, apart from in Rivers were they are actually in power-Peter Odili and Rotimi Amaechi being Igbo men. Thus today you have Aniocha, Ika, Ikwerre, Ogba, Ahoada,Mbiama (which is next door neighbours to Yenogoa), Bonny etc all existing in a state of denial. The funny thing is that especially in PH, they think by adding R to Igbo names, or changing a letter it means the names ceases to be Igbo. How very absurd.

All these little kids commenting here saying that they are not Igbos don't have any historical proof to assert otherwise. Can one wish away his history by mere denial? That surely is an exercise in futility. Learn from other Ethnic groups and embrace who you are-flaws, strengths, warts and all!

I could not agree less with those who said this bunch of ibo speaking people in rivers state are bunch of confused people ...............causing mayhem in d state well the governor is an example....Lindodo if u like post.

Anonymous said...

Our cup of oil runneth over in ogbaland. Una dey here dey decide where we from. Una weldone oh....dalu!!!!

Anonymous said...

I totally agree with u....i am from Delta state, the igbo speaking part of Delta, I am an igbo boy, Don't mind those ignorant fools that don't knw their heritage.

Anonymous said...

Then you that knw abt ogba people explain 2 us. You speak igbo language and bear igbo names pls explain 2 us, ignorant fuck, we don't need you people.

Anonymous said...

Boss thank you very much, we don't need them, buch of bastrads that don't knw their heritage or root, claiming bini when there is nothing bini in them.

Anonymous said...

Just like most Igbos don't understand Ngwa. Does it make Aba people not Igbo? No!

Anonymous said...

The attire is mad!!! I hear the oba is 1st class which is same level as the emirs so I have to say big ups to the Oba bless him

Anonymous said...

43 years ? Gadd that's a long time, he's really blessed or maybe it his traditional gifts, if you know what I mean ;)

Anonymous said...

I see all dese negative comments and laugh are any of your parents living through 43 years alone then talk less on a throne. If u are not positive, don't talk

Anonymous said...

lets say u are on exile to France from Igbo land, and there u happen to marry a French woman, no one speaks ur language to u... And u give birth to children that will never speak ur language but that of the French people because of we're dye reside... If the French people wants to claim them just because of language can dey simply say we have a root... But we don't deny speaking ur language... Even today most kids that spend most of there life abroad don't speak there language but foreign language, that does not mean they don't know there history.... The ogba people migrated and settled as Igbo neighbors as one man can not easily pass on his language alone without help from fellow Kim's men, so the language must change with little difference in tongue and culture

Anonymous said...

Stupid and senseless analogy

People that only stated to discover their so called Bini roots after the civil war? Bullshit, they're just trying to find favor with the rest of Nigerians

Anonymous said...

They are called Igbo denials.

Anonymous said...

Say what you know, not what you heard. Fools. Ogba 1 love

Lawrence said...

It doesn't really matter where anyone comes from, but language can be absorbed by association, trade and dominance of a given tribe in an area. Anioma, and Omoku are not Igbos by origin and as a matter of fact they have other names that are not igbo names. My Mum is feom Anioma and her maiden name is Odiah. I dont think thats igbo.

Lawrence said...

Why are people so interested in forcing igbo identity on people who clearly dont want it. Im curious.

Lawrence said...

You are well informed about the history of ogba. God bless you.
