The singer was diagnosed in February this year after suffering serious body pains, headaches, non stop coughing, loss of weight and weakness while in Paris for a show. He flew to London where a test conducted determined he had cancer. Vast has been receiving treatment at the Wellington Hospital in the UK since February and I hear he's responding very well to treatment. He has undergone 4 cycles of chemotherapy with each cycle costing about N1.4million. He will do a few more before returning to Nigeria next month.
The sad part I hear from sources close to the singer is that he actually went to a hospital in Nigeria late last year when he started losing weight and feeling weak. They conducted a test on him but it took them forever to come back with the test result. Over three months actually. By then the cancer had spread to his liver. But thankfully he's getting better and will return home soon. Please say a prayer for him. More photos after the cut...

Health care in Nigeria is shit. And as long as you are having your medical treatment in Nigeria, it doesnt make a difference if you have money becuase the so called elite hospitals are not any better. i went to medical school in Nigeria and I know the training leaves us half baked and uninterested in staying current and working with evidence based guidelines. He started loosing weight and gettin weak, he went to 2 hospitals and none could diagnose what was wrong. Ah! This is painful. I know someone that was diagnosed with this cancer of the Lymphatic system. The diagnosis wasn't too early so she suffered until the cancer finally killed her. Part of what made me elect to specialise in Oncology in due time.
One of the most dangerous cancers mainly due to how fast it spreads(metastasizes) as the lymphatic system aids in transport round the body. I sincerely hope this man doesn't die. Cancer is evil. Be prepared to fight, Vast and trust in God.
