Jerry Gana made the declaration on Sunday as he delivered a sermon at the St. Matthew’s Church, Maitama, Diocese of Abuja.
In his words,
'they think when it comes to break-up, we will go along with the North. We have already told them that if they allow this country to break up, we are not going with the North. We are staying where we are. So, just take notice. If it comes to that, we will tell you that you are Arewa and we are ‘Middle-Belters.’He continued to say,
'we love Nigeria and it was changed to a federal system because of the minorities so that we can have a place. So, we love Nigeria but in the unlikely event that people want to go their way, the Arewa in the Sahel will go. But we will remain here in the Federal Republic of Nigeria'.

Prof. You are on point. All the ananymous names are hausas. They called us north central why not east central or west central. We are not arewa we in the middle belt dont want nigeria to break apart but if it will let it be peaceful and we middle belt will prefer to be on our won. The south east want the south south to join them but the ss are afraid of future marginalisation, the north want the middle belt to join them but the middle belt is afraid of future marginalisation. If nigeria will break it will be in pieces of small small countries like the size of togo. North will be one country,south south another, middle belt another,south east another and the south west another country forming five countries. The truth is that Nigeria will be sweeter when we all remain together to make nigeria a better country for all where equity and fairness shall reign.
